I’m always scared of “wasting” a watercolor sketchbook by only using pencil in it, so I have three in progress sketchbooks that have taken years to finish
Yeah I've kinda ended up with the same, I have a pencil and ink sketchbook which was my regular sketchbook, but then I decided I wanted a sketchbook for watercolour so I ended up with one with cheap paper for swatching and messing around and then a cotton paper one for more in depth paintings.
Your art is so emotional and I'd say almost hypnotic! I have that exact set of sketchbooks, and this video inspired me to go get the last empty one and fill it back to back. 😁
I have to write on my swatches or I'd never remember what they are...
I'd love to see you tackling some more landscapes, and maybe some other subjects. It's interesting to see 90% of your faces are full or three quarters, profiles are rare. Those Etchr books are really, really nice - that 230gsm cold press paper is really great quality and in my view performs as well as some more expensive, 300gsm papers.
oh my gosh +1000 votes for Dragon Age Inquisition landscape paintings
Amazing tour :) I screenshoted three of my favorite spreads in your sketchbook and put them In greyscale to see how they looked and if you still put a lot of effort in the value scale... WELL, congratulations ! They looked sick even without colors 👌🏻👌🏻 She got em skilllllllllllz
I recently bought one of these Etchr sketchbooks (ot press I think?) myself and I'm so excited to try it out!! I love the variety and realism you have in your sketchbook - not everything's gonna be a perfect. picturesque instagram spread. It looks like it was so much fun to work in! Also that Axel!! He looks incredible in your style!! Thank you so much for sharing this tour
My style is pretty different from yours but it always makes me so inspired to do some art! Makes me wanna dig up my watercolours but I know I can’t watercolour for the life of me😅😂
i alsshave the etchr coldpressed. but i don't try it out until now. i am very excited to test it 🥰🤩
Your sketchbook tour videos are my most favorite. There's just something about taking a peek at other people's sketchbook that motivates me to start sketching on mine.
Question: what do you do with your completed sketchbooks? do you find you go through them often after finishing them?
(Im about to finish my first sketchbook and surprisingly I'm giving a lot of thought to how I wanna store it. Away, out of sight? Near my table to easily acess? very serious stuff lol🥴)
I know sketchbooks are for sketching but I take my sketchbooks way too seriously, especially the expensive ones with good paper. I treat it as "real" paintings instead of letting myself explore, and that's a bummer. Your (my) sketchbook should her for trying new ideas and letting go but because they're expensive I can't seem to do that.☹️
And yes!! It's very difficult for me to let go of paintings I really like,
Thanks for the vid. One little tip : Roman Szmal , his last name we pronounce like SZ like SH (in shame, shock) and A like in 'but' 'cut'
The swatches at the beginning were prob the mjello mission gold pure because that indanthrone blue was at the last of the list?
You are so right about the Kingdom Hearts thing lol! Great job finishing a sketchbook! Sometimes it's really a difficult task, and you did so well. I loved the request pages, even Sidon. (yeah he is complicated to draw!) Not all art has to be perfect or instagrammable and it's so nice to see the professional artists just practicing and showing the rest of us that it's okay to have to figure out forms and solidify ideas. My current sketchbook is messy as anything, and yet there's visible progress from the first page to the most recent.
All the drawings are so good, they're beautiful and inspiring.
I usually watch UA-cam while doing other things, but your drawings definitely deserve all my attention.
PD: Thanks for drawing Axel! For some reason ,him being in the last page makes me feel, like... A nostalgic feeling or something idk how to say it
Hi I’ve been watching your content for a while now and i just wanted to say that your art really inspires me and I wish to be as good as an artist one day.
I think you made some Arches sketchbooks in the past. How did those 2 sketchbooks compare for you? Thanks for the video!
I really love your voice on commentary on this one, so soothing!
It would help if you penciled in what they were at the time of swatching
Do you ever have copyright issues with your characters
Yayyyyy sketchbook tour!!
great sketchbook tour 🙂 i really need to get an etchr sketchbook, the paper looks really nice in them
Your videos are my favorite thing to watch when I bring my gauche set and relax. Your art style is so inspiring and helps me looks at my art with a different perspective 💕
Even your testing/swatch pages look like art. I love your style so much
Beautiful! I always write the paint I used somewhere on the page, like you, it takes me over a year to complete a sketchbook.
I love the owl! I still rewatch that video.
I always name my swatches
Taking your Skillshare class (the gouache eyes ) opened up my world in painting. I’m not sure why I felt I had to be at a god like skill in drawing or have permission in order to sketch with my paintbrush? Having that fluidity just really changed my approach to art as a whole. I know it’s improved since I started..but I feel so much boulder about it somehow. I spent so much time searching for the right tutorial or answer to make my art “good”, that all the things that made me want to to do it myself again got lost in the process. When I went to to your channel I didn’t realize I was already subscribed 😂. Funny how we find ourselves right back at the beginning. Thank you for sharing your continuous journey.
Love the thumbnail painting @ 3:15. Would make an awesome children’s book illustration
You sound so happy and relaxed when going through this sketchbook. 😊
so fun to see the completed book.. Happy Thanksgiving!
Yeah that Himi-Miya reactivation work looked like the WarHammer Titan. also I really love that Owl you did with the kuretake gansai tambi. I forgive you for that final fantasy thing hahhaaha
yayyy I just asked for this etchr sketchbook for christmas, I hope I actually fill it up! I'm so bad at actually finishing sketchbooks lol
I have not painted for a long time because of my mental health but this was so inspiring, that I think I will try to paint something today. Wish me luck xD I cant wait to see what amazing stuff you gonna come up with in the next sketchbook!
maybe you should think about writing down what type of paint you are swatching??!!
I would love to attend your streams if you do more!
I love watching your videos while bookbinding :)
