I am in almost the same boat with a 2001 with a Dual brand radio. It has some kind of aftermarket adapter becase it is a 1 din radio in a double din hole. I am hoping they used a wiring harness adaptor kit but they probably just cut the connector off.

Good luck. My van was my dad's and I really like it. Its big with lots of space for tools and other needed things. 4.6 liter is good on gas.
If u only knew.. forgot more than u even know. Always necessary. I've ran into bad wires, that if the battery was hooked up, would have caused more work. One little easy step to not cause any further issues. Now what dumbass???

The radio in my 2000 is hard to remove. The tools keep slipping out. I don’t know why.

Hmm I have 2001 that some has put a (crappy) aftermarket radio in.
There are no holes for the removal tool.
I guess I will just have to figure it out.

Once the radio is out can the bulb that lights the display be changed out? Mine is dim. I have a 2012 Ford E350 Econoline.

Can u put a video how to remove the dash on your first van? So we can replace radio with new single din.
Buy the installation kit. It has a storage pocket that takes up the extra space when there is a single din.
