Installing a Double Din stereo for Ford Econoline | Simple removal Hack
Вставка

- This video shows how to remove a stock ford stereo with a simple and cheap hack! There also might be some trimming involved to get the new one in, but we're not afraid of that!
The stereo I installed is a Dual XDVD276BT
manual: www.dualav.com/wp-content/upl...
Ford Stereo adapter 1998-2008:

I've had it for the better part of a year now and it's not bad. The FM radio periodically comes in fuzzy. I don't know if the fault is the stereo or my van. There is also a long delay before it powers on, and if I turn the key too fast, t does not come on at all (also could be my van and not the unit).
Overall it's decent enough for the price.
Thanks for watching

Holy fuck I literally spent all day looking for instructions. Finally found them via your video. Thanks dude. You’re the shit (the good kind).
HAHA! Glad I could help 👍
“Do Not” 😂 worth the watch even if you’re not installing a DVD player in a van
DUDE!! THAT'S BY FAR... the absolute best DIY content I've seen!! Frickin hilarious, too!! Thank you!👍👏👏
Wow you're too kind!! Thanks so much for that, it makes the effort worthwhile.
Informative and entertaining. Thanks!
this warms my heart!
I'm about to install an Atoto in my e-150. I'll be sure to NOT ground the parking brake wire. Thanks for pointing that out.
That's awesome! Yeah that was the first time I looked in the instructions and I had a good laugh for sure
You can ground the break wire i do it on all my installs except on pioneer and alpine.
If you grounded directly to the frame in lieu of the battery negative terminal That would the fuzziness.
Great videos man. I have a 99 ridealong econoline. (Big square windows with the captains chairs)
Keep up the good work
Great video will be installing mines with backup camera 2006 e350 ambulance should I say jambulance
Great job !!!! Thank you for this information !!!!
Definitely worth to subscribe! 👍
OJB what show you work on...I want to support it....
You drink bud light? It's important to me cuz it's a deal breaker.....
Will you be installing a winch...brush guard...external auxiliary lighting?
Did you van come equipped with an auxiliary battery mounted on the passenger frame rail?
I am binging on all your videos
Liked subscribed and commenting for the algorithm...
Busch Light for me!
I'll be doing some aux light, a back up cam, some kind of modular bed system, maybe a solar power bank, and front and rear bumpers. Probably a winch too.
Thanks so much for the comment my man!!!
Great video!
I have that same head unit love it
Nice!! What's your go to movie???
Appreciate the video!
Which wire is the parking brake wire ?
Thank you! Looks like the pink wire. I found the diagram here:
www.dualav.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/XDVD276BT071218.pdf
That was hilarious! Thanks.
good video i might get one of these for my 2012 e250
It does the trick, I might however recommend one with apple car play (if you have an iPhone that is)
Another cool video! My last two trucks had fancy head units with no CD players! Really hard to listen to my old school cd collection of hair metal bands & punk rock without that little slot! My van with that factory CD player doesn’t work (it’s like I did something bad in a past life and the cd gods hate me now).
We are gonna have to upgrade the stereo for the “adventure ready” van ASAP …..
TOMBSTONE ….. one of the greatest of all time! Maybe we were separated at birth? Haha
Thanks Brother (possibly for real)! This head unit is pretty decent. Maybe if I could do it over I would do one with apple car play but I drew a hard line on the DVD player. I have Tombstone, Road House, and Point Break. If you want to watch something else you better find another ride you dig???
@@Jbmongold Maybe add the OG version of RED Dawn to that collection for perfection.....
How do you secure the unit in place? great video by the way.
About that….its just gravity
Thanks for watching 👍
why not a double din vertical radio?
The wire harness were can I order that forgot to tell us the part # I would really appreciate it thanks good job
Good call, I'll add it to the Description. Thanks

Does that box come with everything needed to connect it to the van? Do I have to purchase that adapter to connect the new stereo to the vans cable? Can you provide a link? Thank you.
You need to get an adaptor for which make or model you have ($8 at autozone). You will then wire the stereo pigtail to the adaptor pigtail, and then it all plugs right in.
Bravo!! "Im your Huckleberry"...
You need a double din kit to set the radio on the ford van.how u going to strap it from moving?
The angle of the head unit is pitched down enough that I don't have it secured to anything and it's still hard to pull it out. No ideal but it work fine for me.
thanks
Have you heard of a 2006 ford econoline 350 super duty not starting if the radio is removed. anyone?
Can't say that I have
Ground parking brake wire should work all the time
So how exactly did you get it to play movie while driving?
Just run the wire labeled "Parking Brake" to a ground
Them damn DVD Brake lockouts are a joke.. As if people don't look at their Nav system screen while driving!
What kind of solder did you use? Does it matter?
I don't think it matters all that much but someone out there would say otherwise
For the slower people in your audience can you explain how you got it to work exactly
You bet! Just take the wire that says "Parking Brake" and run it to a ground
how long did this installation take?
It took me one evening
one afternoon more or less
where u get the radio from..??
Amazon:
www.amazon.com/dp/B06XWJL4FP?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
Amazon, however I've seen them at Advance Auto
All u do ground the break wire to the ground on radio and it bypass it
The parking brake wire needs to be grounded, you can add it to another ground or a metal screw under the dash
@@Jbmongold or they have a bypass for ground
@@juliosandoval8244 The Manufacture wants you to wire it so that it only operates while in park. Grounding the parking brake wire "bypasses" this, so you can play a dvd whenever you like
@@Jbmongold its not wat the manufacturer its wat u want lol
@@juliosandoval8244 BINGO!!!
Dont not ground this wire 😂👍🏼
Yeah I should have read the instructions first I guess 🤷🏼♂️
Umm I feel like you skipped some essential steps in this video lol
I'll try harder next time. Thanks for your help
Questions. Will this work on a 2003 Ford work van ? What else will I need ? I want to upgrade my stock ray-didio with a Bluetooth and maybe GPS. I do commercial HVAC and need this so I am not as extracted by messing with my phone. HELP !
