    I appreciate the video. I've been working on my eggbeater for a bit. I believe I got the motions down but it helps to get as much info to improve especially if you aren't teaching yourself.

      It takes time but keep working

    How many days does it take generally to learn the eggbeater? I have started trying the egg beater kick today. I can’t keep my head out of water as yet. The instructions here are very helpful. Thanks.

      I've noticed the older you get the harder it is to learn. Kids can alternate their kick in a few days. Adults can take weeks. It's all muscular so follow the video instructions and focus on one thing at a time and you'll pick it up soon

      Beyond Water Polo Thanks for the reply. My height is 5 feet 10 inches. I practice in 5 feet water. My feet touch the water in every kick. May be I shouldn’t kick deep. Whats your opinion? There is 10 feet water in one side of the pool, but with the little freestyle that I know, I don’t want to risk. I surely want to be persistent and learn the eggbeater even if it takes several weeks as I like it as it is the most efficient way to tread water.

      In shallow water push against the wall. Angle your hips and legs so they don't touch the bottom. Use the eggbeater videos here to improve your range of motion. There are videos on freestyle also if you want to work on that!

      If you have a coach have them watch the videos. They may be able to see some things that will help you improve. It's really hard to self-coach.

    Great lecture on eggbeater kick!
    Can I translate this video into Korean, please?
    Maybe I can help you publish English and Korean subtitle/CC with thi video and other videos on your channel.

    Do you have any tips for sinkers?

    • @MyoFit
      @MyoFit  3 роки тому +1

      It's a technical movement. Focus on how your legs apply force to the water and I think you'll improve

    Should the EB kick be done only counter clockwise or can it be done clockwise as well? thanks

    • @MyoFit
      @MyoFit  Рік тому +1

      realistically, one leg will always be clockwise and one leg counter so yes to both! The leg needs to generate force into the water so focus on that, pressing the lower leg down into the water to raise the hips and body

    Do you have any recommendations for increasing jumping height?

    • @MyoFit
      @MyoFit  5 років тому

      You really need to focus on making sure your legs and feet are in the proper EB positions from the video first. Then, add more 2-leg lunge kicks to training, vertical and forward lunges. If your EB doesn't have power your lunge won't have power. Make little improvements every practice

    Why is it called "eggbeater?"

    • @MyoFit
      @MyoFit  6 років тому +1

      People think your legs look like the egg beater appliance in the kitchen. But to look like an “eggbeater” you would really be doing it wrong 🤦🏼‍♂️

    show actual play speed not slow motion

    • @MyoFit
      @MyoFit  4 роки тому

      When you look at bad technique at play speed from athletes with limited technical instruction it's pretty sloppy. When I'm in shape (not right now) this looks the same at 90-110 RPM. When I'm out of shape my ankle does a weird flutter thing that is sloppy. This is the ideal motion to produce the most power.

    • @theswimclub8582
      @theswimclub8582 4 роки тому

      @@MyoFit seems slow though... If an athlete can perform egg beater efficiently it does not matter if his form is not exact ... If it works it's good.... I cannot perform the egg beater although I can swim efficiently

    • @MyoFit
      @MyoFit  4 роки тому +2

      @@theswimclub8582 what matters is if you perform the motion properly at lower speeds and work up to full speed you'll be less sloppy than someone who doesn't focus on technique. In a game, you shouldn't be thinking about eggbeater. Train so it is correct in practice and focus on the opponent during the game.
