Did you have to use the scan tool to clear the code after changing the battery or was the code automatically reset after starting the car?

Nice one. So many issues often lead back to batteries. I bought a nice 560SEC from Charlie years ago. Wish I never sold it black on black and like new. 4.5k!! Bargain

Very informative video, I have another kind of issue with the steering wheel, once I start driving the car, steering wheel is too soft and reactive which feels like I am driving on the ice especially in higher speeds, after an hour of driving, steering wheel returns normal stiffness, would this be due to the battery is about to die as well? Ps. No error on the dash

thank you! The 1st thing I would do is pull codes out of the car with a Mercedes scanner. I would get codes from all modules and see if there are any similar codes across other modules.

So I have a mercedes E class 350 sedan and I drove through water but it was like 4 inches deep and for some reason the steering wheel is hard or like tight to turn but drive reverse park I even drove the car home almost like the only reason it is like that is because of the warning of power steering malfunction everything else sounds great no squeeling no gringing just steering wheel is tight I also unhooked the battery in the front under the hood for 30 min and checked all the fuses then turned the car over and still has warning and wheel still tight please. Help

Hello Debbie, did your car have a power steering failure right after you drove through water? You need to get the car into a competent Mercedes specialist. They need to access all trouble codes. List the codes with descriptions here. The steering unit on this car is on the very bottom of the car, it wouldn’t surprise me if the unit got water in it and possibly failed. Or, hopefully it may have got water in it and popped a fuse?? It must be tested first.
