  • Roberto Bertero at the organ of Turin’s Santuario della Consolata (Church of the Virgin of the Consolation).
This video is featuring the Prelude and Fugue in E minor, BWV 533, by J.S. Bach.
A composition dating back to the Weimar period (around 1709) which, despite its small proportions - a difficult achievement for a young artist - has the merit of containing a large part of Bach's language, especially with regard to the toccata-like recitatives and above all the harmony.
The work reflects the Nordic style influence, especially by Buxtehude who certainly inspired the tremolos, simple and double, often appearing in the Prelude, which begins in full toccata style.
The Fugue, of refined workmanship, presents a very noble theme that would lead one to expect a broad development.
The two movements complement each other exceptionally in a noble melancholy mood, typical of many of the Maestro's greatest works.
Welcome to this UA-cam channel aimed at providing some quality online documentation concerning the "Camillo Guglielmo Bianchi" organ located in the Consolata Sanctuary, Turin (Italy).
Audio or audio-video file will be regularly uploaded, all recorded LIVE.
The sound will be captured with Zoom H5 audio recorder (96kHz / 24bit), while footage will be filmed with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
The intent is to create a database of the musical literature performed by me, titular organist in this prestigious sanctuary, right during the religious services along the Liturgical Year or during the organ auditions, between one Mass and another.
