- Taking a quick look at the Cold Steel AD10 and the Cold Steel SR1. I’ll be sure to show these knives again..hopefully outdoors next time.
I picked up the SR1, absolutely love it. Will be buying the AD10 soon.

The Benchmade and Spyderco bones are in the skull, cause when you itch them you're also thinking, "Why did I spend money on one Benchmade when I could have picked up two Cold Steels made with practically the same materials for half the price?"

@@theedcden5515 yeah bud the G-10 on them coldsteel knives are a little rough but there are plenty of sanding tricks for that as well!!!!

The cold steel knives are designed to allow you to one hand close the triad lock if you hold your finger right under the finger guard, including these two.
Good review. I have both but the the AD10 is the 2022 tanto.
Like and enjoy both...carry both. My go to combo rn is an AD10 with a GEC Gunstock Jack 44 or 23 Jumbo Trapper

The AD10 is a full oz. lighter than the SR1, if weight is important.

Oddly, I just purchased a SRK. Which is the SR-1 is the folding counterpart to the SRK. I had my eye on a SR-1 for a while. But then the Desert Warrior Recon 1 went on sale for $100.

I think the number is the year he first made the knife. The ad15 with the scorpion lock was released in 2015

I picked up a new SR1 a week ago. Love it, but after carrying and using very little, the blade rattles in the closed position. Lockup is rock solid, but rattles when closed. Anyone else have this issue?
I'm notorius for getting caught and bending pocket clips on every knife that I've owned. I've narrowed it down to these two, can you tell me which one has the stronger pocket clip? The AD-10 seems like it to me but it only has 2 screw compared to the 3 with the SR1, but I would assume that the AD-10 has the stronger clip because it seems bigger?
I think in terms of tension, both are very similar. BUT, the AD10 has smooth g10 and the SR1 has rough g10, so the SR1 is tougher to manage than the AD10. The AD10 goes in the pocket a bit smoother. 👍🤙
I don't understand those hard, almost non bending clips as well. I often carry a cheap knife that has a "better" clip because of it.
why would they have a blade that thick without metal liners?
Which one is better for a self defense knife?
SR1 maybe has a more piercing tip.

That’s a tough decision. Maybe I would choose the AD10 because it is easier to carry in the pocket and the handle is more comfortable for my hands 👍🤙

Watch ad10 deep carry pocket clip video on UA-cam. It will feel like a new knife wit the deep carry clip.

You look weird putting your fingers where the apex is going to fall, that's not at all the way to close such knives (as you perfectly know). If you only try to show the risk you'd better share how to put the fingers on the scales, on the sides to avoid the risk, maybe pressing the blade´s spine against the back of a thigh instead flipping the blade quickly in the air which is less safe. Both ways you have one hand free while closing it.
I disagree,...i want my heavy-duty pocket knife to be firmly attached. Especially when hiking, camping etccc
