had one installed in our tow vehicle, only issue was the control knob was installed in the dash below the drivers knee. Had a couple of instances where we had almost catastrophic sway occur, the knob being located at knee level the emergency brake could not be engaged. When I tackled the Redarc rep at a recent caravan show he advised that the install was incorrect, advised me how to move it to a suitable location, mounted the knob in center of the center console and now a happy camper, thanks Redarc, perhaps you could advise installers of the best location to mount the control knob.

I just purchased one of these. Can anyone tell me how much I should pay for installation in a Q7 Audi? Battery is under the seat and the whole seat needs to come out if access is needed. New caravan owner here so I don’t know much at all but I do know that this was an essential for me.

There are variables depending on what other requirements you need when setting up. For example, in some cases a power supply for DC charging in a caravan might be required and makes sense to have this done at the same time as the wiring can be run with the electric brake wiring and in turn saves some labour costs. We suggest you contact your local auto electrician as they will be able to give you further advice and quote on installation to meet your requirements.

Just got one installed on my 2019 Toyota Sequoia that is towing a 6000 pound Airstream. The installer set it to user mode but am wondering if it would be better to have it in Auto mode. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for watching! Typically the auto (proportional) mode is recommend for highway driving or tarmac driving, if you are finding yourself spending most of your time in these conditions then the auto mode would be recommend.

You mean way back at ua-cam.com/video/FckXEPBkL0k/v-deo.html. Looks like they did a sloppy temporary installation for the shoot. Great engineering boys but remind me to do my own install or pay someone who does installs for a living!
