They're not just Heroes. They're LEGENDS!
2 MASTERS OF THE VISUAL ARTS...
truly fine arts :)
Rest in peace, Joe Kubert. You are a great artist, who will be remembered for ages to come.
This is great. Two masters, but completely different approaches.
R.I.P Joe Kubert:
When I was a kid I first remembered seeing his SGT Rock & Tarzan comics in a barbershop as a kid back in the 1970's, Just a couple of years ago (2010 New York Comic-Con) he was kind enough to sign my Flash # 62 (his first Hawkman story from 1945) I met him again at the 2011 NYCC when he talked about his history in the comics medium for a bit while I was at his table. It's wonderful that he was still working at the age of 85 and never retired, The last of the Golden Age giants.
two masters!
Two legends at work...awesomeness!
I want to be them they are my heroes my role models I just adore them
Kubert and Romita Sr. are both inspiring artists. Hell, I have a 1974 John Romita Sr. drawn Spider-Man poster on my all. I just love his art so much.
For those who chastise the industry, calling it a "bum's job," look at the legacy these men have built with a simple pencil and piece of paper - immortal stories, memorable characters, countless adaptations and inspired active artists - and you'll find your foot shoved firmly into your mouths.
......who calls it a bum's job?
Ignorant jackasses I'm related to.
Wow two comic book artists Legends!!!!!❤️🌹🙏
Wow. So much greatness on one video!
another level
Wow, those 2 are both amazing artists, I'm a big fan of Romita's, you guys are really lucky.
1:55 it's official. John Jr is my brother from another mother. That's EXACTLY how I saw Peter Parker myself. He was like an older brother and I'm praying that by the end of 2013 we see Webs take his body back.
Oh man I wish I had that sketch
Me too!!!
These guys are my heroes, sooo cool.
Approximately 5:45, it always amazes me when the classic pros who make things look so easy talk about how difficult it is for them (even now, after all their years of experience).
Spidey's looking up at Hawkman and probably thinking WTF?!? lol an instant classic from two legends.
The coolest granpas ever!!!
Great vid. Thanks for posting.
I've tried to label those silver and bronze age Marvelites. Kirby was the genious, J. Buscema was ''Mr Clasic(al'' - obviously he was the one to illustrate How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way, since he could shape anything), Ditko was the surrealist, while Romita here was ''Mr. Classy''. If an artist was strugling with Spider-Man, like Ross Andru on his early takes (love his later work on ASM, around vol 160, give or take), Romita's inks (ooh, those inks) brought it home, anytime...
Marvel vs DC! I miss Joe and John they are the true masters of Marvel and DC comics!
Joe Kubert is God. John Romita Snr is a fantastic artist, but even HE says in the video that Joe is just great. And with Andy and Adam in the biz as well, lets hope for three generations of Kuberts!
"im just getting the hang of it"
Well, that certainly encourages the newcomers :)
It saddens me that great legends of the industry are suffering financially. Artists who have influenced and impacted so many, including my lifelong love of comics and its art. The irony is that their original art is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and the creators of these works would be sitting on a goldmine if things had worked out differently.
Great masters.
Great video!
RIP Joe Kubert.
R.I.P Joe Kubert...
