Why did this feel like it was only 5 minutes when I can clearly see that the video is over 20 minutes long. I really enjoy your videos and your struggles are half the fun. All the best and safe travels.
Thank you, I am very happy that you enjoyed my video ☺️
You are a true adventurer. You have the spirit of the old school explorer. I absolutely love watching your videos and following your adventures. On a side note , I spent some years living in Lower Saxony and love seeing places I know well .
Thank you, that’s a nice compliment ☺️
Dear neighbor, I had an identical Yamaha, even the same color, I rode it for eight seasons and was very satisfied. Currently, I ride a larger Yamaha XJ 900, it has a cardan shaft and this is a great advantage. This summer I plan to go to Bornholm. Greetings from Poland
I gotta say i really admire what you're doing, travelling on a budget and proving that you don't need brand new from factory bmw GS and crew with support truck to go along. Just go there, have fun, and remember that every brake down makes for a great story later. And learning mechanic skill on your own machine is a great way to really bond with it so after you come back just fix it yourself, there is a lot of tutorials on UA-cam. Looking forward to next videos in Iceland!
Thank you for the kind words I hope soon I am better at working on my own bike
Wow... I wasn't expecting your doing Iceland so soon.. i hope the bike holds up.... may the motorcycle gods be smiling up you... :)
I think they are ☺️
Don't be discouraged by other people opinions. Keep living your adventure your way. Thank you for your all your work.
Thank you, I always will and I will continue building this channel ☺️
literally during this video I walked to my bike that has not fired up in 1.2 years and thought fuck it one last try to get her running and she fired right up. Im going on adventure thanks to your videos !!!
Thank you ☺️
That is a really amazing thing that Happend, i am so happy that you will take your bike on Adventures again☺️
Boa viagem Amigo ! A minha mota é uma Diversion XJ 600 ! Abraço desde Portugal .
Thanks for the support ☺️
Kudos to your persistence and willingness to ride all that with such a cheap motorcycle. You proved that you don't need an Africa Twin or a big and expensive GS to have a great adventure. What matters is the will and desire, which you definitely have.
Thank you for the Kind words. I think After iceland it’s definetly proven That Most bikes can Go anywhere
Awesome, this is real adventure....
Great Episode 1. A true adventure. Like well deserved.
I used to have a xj600 those air cooled engines are very reliable and easy to work on, get yourself a service manual.
Yes I should get myself one, I think they are also as pdfs in the internet
@@FreeMilesMC you are right.
Great video! I bought a cheap honda transalp voor 1200 euro and am preparing it to take on the world with it!
That sounds like the perfect bike to do that with ☺️👍🏼
Bought the same bike asu. Wat een toeval
Hey man, you've come a long way so far with content, presentation, travels all coming along so nice.
Extremely glad you're doing so good progress in what as it seems you really enjoy doing.
And yes you've definitely give inspiration. As other viewers has said, it's definitely the spirit you have rather what you ride.
Thanks man, appreciate your efforts.
Fingers crossed, even some day to meet somewhere around Europe :)
I Hope That the Channel is Groningen well. Because i realy enjoy making These Videos ☺️
I am a student living in Germany, your videos are so inspiring that I just want to get my driving license as soon as possible and start exploring or maybe join you in one of your adventures.
That is so amazing definitly try to get a license as a stundent there is still a lot of Time for Trips like this
@@FreeMilesMC Yes ofcourse
best video yet! the camera shots and music were all fantastic! I cant wait to see the rest of this journey, the good and the bad :)
Thank you☺️
Lets goo! A new adventure ahead😊
Absolutly Many Videos and Shorts to come ☺️
Those mechanics are probably biased BMW lovers, they know Diversions last forever but hate to admit it! It'll be fine 👍
Lets gooo, new trip, finished watching the last Italy video today
I hope you enjoy this one too☺️
Hey man! Gret stuff! I have the same motorcycle from 1997, just did 7000km through Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, can definitely relate to the fuel problem haha Good luck on the adventures! Great idea with the off road tires :)
Yes the starting and fuel stuff can be tuff with this one
Really hope UA-cam finally pics up on you and you can be financially and mentally free mate. Love your content :)
I Hope so too. Thank you for saying this. I have been working very hard on making this dream a reality ☺️
@@FreeMilesMC It really show's bud. It's kinda sad to see you hovering over the same sub count but I'm sure it will skyrocket sooner or later
@@Restless_Vanguard yes. That’s just how UA-cam often goes it’s a slow process. Until the next video takes off
Damn, you're crazy (in a good way!)
Thanks for the compliment ☺️
Best of luck in Iceland
Your videos are getting better and better keep up the good work
Thanks, i will ☺️
I’m at first 8 min. of your all channel material and already like it so much! Good work, man! 👊🏻
Thank you for the kind words. There is a lot for you to check out on this channel and a lot still coming ☺️
@@FreeMilesMC it’ll be a pleasure to check everything out. Thanks!
And as I am watching this I am in Denmark myself,.... with a bad rear wheel bearing and praying I can get it fixed tomorrow.
I wish you all the best and that your bike is fine
@FreeMilesMC They are working on it right now. Doesn't look that great though, it failed completely on the way to the store. 😞
Great! A New adventure! Ugh.. old motorcycles have something of their own, their own charm, their own specific style and feeling, but if problems like this appear and you can't rely on them when you get to be completely alone on the road that's really really problematic. Hope you'll not encounter problems anymore and, who knows, maybe when you'll have a bit more money you can invest in a newer/better bike. Also for another piece of feedback, great thumbnails and the font you're using to create them is great! :))
Yes I agree with you, the combination of no money and no clue of how stuff works is a bad one. But it’s like this when you are young
Love your channel man! Keep your bike clean and all will be good!
Think you for the Support ☺️
Absolutely love this! Excited for the next episodes!! 💯
I hope you will like them☺️
It's not about the bike, it's about the spirit !!! And that spirit, you've got it !!! 😉
I'm sure you will be able to do this !!!
Absolutely and I hope I can bring it to other people aswell with these videos
Love this, this is what adventure is about, not those videos with brand new ADV bikes. Let's gooo
Thats the Spirit
Awesome! Beside the problems with the bike of course...I'm driving mine now for almost a month and I love this bike more and more every day..easy and forgiving bike with plenty of power to get along with traffic on highway.. looking forward for EP2 🙂Safe travels!
I sense a little gap between the most sensible way of doing thing (Learn fixing a bike, fix a bike, take on a gran d tour) and the actual events (Take bike on grand tour, fix bike, learn to fix a bike) 😁
She'll be right. 🤗
I hope you are right ☺️. It will be fine
Calling an XJ600 a sportsbike is like referring to Megan Markle as an actress😂
Good video though and all kudos to you for taking a divvy to Iceland
Thank you. I get your point. Well the xj 600 is a kind of everything bike. that came in a naked, half fared and fully fared option.
I would refer to the 600cc bikes like the r6 or FZR as Supersports. But there are also people who say those are not supersports.
So this is kind of a brought spectrum where people see the bikes.
And probably the biggest reason for the title:
“60 hp sport tourer/ sportsbike thing that is kind of dull goes to Iceland” Is not really a good title 😂
Camping in Iceland - rather you than me! 😉.
Regarding adventure bikes and the skill of the riders to use them to their capability, there's a saying in the UK - "all the gear and no idea!".
I look forward to the upcoming videos.
Yes that’s a very true saying ☺️
The reason I watch your adventures is because you are doing them on a road bike.
My wife and I do the same on our naked road bikes, with dual sport tyres. We run the Pirelli Scorpion STRs which have great grip on dirt and gravel roads, yet are not noisy on the highway and are rated for high speed.
Like they say - _"The best adventure bike, is the one you already have!"_
Yes that is absolutely right that’s the spirit. What bike do you have? The Pirelli scorpion strs sadly don’t fit my bike
@@FreeMilesMC We have KTM Duke 390s at the moment.
Their low centre of gravity works well off-road as well, but still reasonable ground clearance.
Absolutely I once was looking in to one for maybe making a scrambler build
This is a real adventure. With a broken motorcycle to Iceland :)
Well only the fuel cock the Rest is Fine ☺️
I think I would have put a new clutch in it, and maybe some sort of bash/sump plate, other than that I have absolutely no reason why an XJ could do this. I had a 900 and was my winter hack, November-March, other than a service every year it did 155,000 miles, then someone nicked it, and it was found 280 miles away! So even the tea leaf new a good thing 😅
Yes, they are absolutely super reliable ☺️
I’m sure if you ride to the bikes abilities you will be fine. The age and the fact that you’re carburettor is a good thing because it will be much more user serviceable. All that said, I admire your courage ❤. Go well sir.
I think so too.
Carburetor is actually the worst thing on a roadtrip,
@@MrDosSantos991 fussy yes but serviceable in a way that an injection pump system is not. 🤣
@@robinwells8879 yes I understand but one would surely replace the pump after a long while especially when undertaking a big roatrip. There is little to nothing that could go wrong on a injection system
Hi die Videoqualität ist richtig gut geworden. Weiter so !
Most likely the petcock inside the tank has come apart. There are 2 filter screens, one for main and one for reserve. Its common for the screen to dislodge causing the main tank to drain all the gas. It happened to mine! good luck on this adventure!
Thank you for the helpful advise when it comes to repairing I will come back to this comment ☺️
that's true, and it's easy to fix
And I only just watched you get back home to Germany! What a surprise destination.
I Hope you enjoy the new video series
@@FreeMilesMC I'm looking forward to it, thank you.
Man, this vid is awesome, such a step up 💪🏽 Nice work, looking forward to this series ✌🏽🏍️💨
Thank you for the appreciation and the kind words
Great idea. Looking forward to the series of videos!! 👍
Thank you ☺️
Thanks
Thank you for your amazing support it means a lot and keeps the channel going
You have a very interesting show-concept there. I like it very much! Keep going!
On the other hand the Divii desirves a dignified treatment, as she is a very faithful and reliable motorcycle. Just driving without caring enough to learn more about her and maintain her respectively is not very mature. I used to treat my firs car like that (some dacades ago). My dad was very dissapointed back then. I now can understand why.
The oil lamp on (many) Yamaha motorcycles is not a signal for a lack of oil pressure. It signals low oil level. This can happen, if you accelerate for an extendet period of time, or drive uphill. The sensor sits at the front and when all oil is at the back, it lights up. If there is enough (not too much!) oil in the sight glas, when the motorcycle is off, and it dissapears, when you turn the motor on, the oil pump is most likely ok. If you have too much oil in it for too long, this causes overpressure and can damage several parts.
The first Diva models had no fuel filter. If you travel to different countries, and your Diva doesen'tr have one, you need to install one. Derusting and coating your gas tank can cost less than 30 Euros. A repair kit for your fuel tap (or an after marke one) costs not more than 20-30 Euro. Overhauling your carburator would cost not more than 10 Euro (for carburateor cleaning spray). You do not need any special tools for all this. If you invest 200 Euro in this bike, get to know it and maintain it correctly, it can run for ever and you would be able to really enjoy your adventures, without any concern about the bike.
Good luck!
Please stay with the XJ 600 Diversion!...
The fact that you are using this particular bike to travel is a big plus.
If your carbs and fuel filter line are the problem then come on over to Amsterdam and I will rebuild them for free with you.
You will then know how to do it yourself.
Thanks for the offer. Maybe I Come Back to that 😉. I definitely need to learn that
@@FreeMilesMC If these carbs have never been rebuilt then the float bowl o-rings have probably turned to stone and will need to be replaced. Typically a week for delivery if they are not in stock. Most other parts only need to be cleaned correctly.
Really looking forward to the crossing to Iceland. Never knew there was a ferry going there 🙂. Keep it up! Hope your bike is able to cope.
The Episode of the crossing is coming soon☺️
Cleaning carbs on this bike is really easy, I suggest you delve more on it and start checking the valve clearance at least once a year. It is really a bullet proof bike if you know how to work around the kinks.
Also did you change the air filter after the trip to Sahara?
The petcock on these bikes usually breaks down with time, but rebuild set costs you around 20 euros and it takes around one hour to fix, you just have to remove the tank and drain it... Also keep in mind that the petcock is made of aluminium, so be delicate..
Also!! 😅 I'd replace the fuel lines and the filter before next adventure. It's a bit of a hassle but if you got the spirit for it, it's a cheap and futureproof update for the warhorse that is XJ Divvy!
Nice!! Greetings from Costa Rica!!
Thank you. All the greeting from Germany. Costa Rica is also a country I would like to visit one day☺️
@@FreeMilesMC feel more than welcome!
Up the budget a little bit on the bike and get urself a r1150 gs from 2001-2003 these bikes are very comfy, cheap and very reliable.
At some point I will. But first I will ride the xj. Until it’s done ☺️
@MrDosSantos991 This ^^ I ride an 03 1150, it's a real gem of bike 😍
Keep that thing going, it's a true jdm bike if you love it, it will love you back - if you want something that won't die or even higher level of reliability ==> honda
Absolutly I plan on learning how to work on it myself in the future ☺️
@@FreeMilesMC it’s a process, believe me! But keep going!!
Yes absolutely I will work very hard with the goal of turning UA-cam in to a career 💪🏼
Man do i love this bike, i first heard of it with your chanel and bought one as my first motorcycle i take my gf everywhere across france with it, thanks for showing it’s potential. Good luck with your chanel
That makes me happy to hear. At some point this channel maybe makes these bikes more expensive if more people find out they are great
I paid 1400 for it with full touring accessories, but it was a bargain for me because it was already the a2 version, wish you the best man
Absolutely amazing video you genuinely have some of the best motorcycling content. I love that you are doing it all with a bike many of the viewers may own its much more exciting and interesting than doing it with the newest latest good stuff. Im curious how those tires are on pavement? I've been thinking of getting something like that but not sure how they would ride.
Thank you for saying this I am also really trying to show people somthing they can do themselves ☺️
Nice trip, i bought a xj 600 too and thats the reason i found your videos. I like the idea just to put some dirt wheels on, to create a kind of adventure bike. Could you tell me/us what tires you used. So the precise model, becausse i think of doing the same when my tires become to old ^^
Boa viagem ✌️
I will and will manage to get it fixed ☺️
Honestly I don't know who you are, I'm not a biker myself, but the UA-cam algorithm has spoken and told me to watch this! And it was right! Nice camera work. I'm looking forward to the future episodes. Gruße aus Holland!
You are welcome. I think most videos are also super enjoyable for non bikers. Thank you for the nice words.
Actually regarding your username, there is a video on the channel where I ride my motorcycle through a Sandstorm.
@@FreeMilesMC I think I just saw it, the ride to Morocco? :)
Oh, yes it’s also included in that video I forgot
what sizes are the tires please front and rear
Always love your videos, I have a question about the rings you wear, where is it from is it from a random jewelry shop or is it branded?
It’s all from random markets. One I have gotten while I was living in my car visiting many surfbeaches the other is from south Afrika and one a exgirlfrind of me gave me for my birthday
@@FreeMilesMC alright, very interesting, thank you for the info, they are very beautiful
Thank you ☺️
Oooh dear god the trouble finally starting with the bike. Fingers crossed I hope the sweet Divvy will survive (but she is tough one I have faith in the red lady) Can you give a small review about the added windscreen? Is it worth the "upgrade" and actually does its work?
Yes it works really well. But it generates a bit of dirty air witch leads to more water hitting my phone
Really awesome channel ! I have same bike ! Please tell me brand and size of your front tyre . I will put same on mine.
Thank you. It’s the tkc 80 tire. I will soon try to open an online shop for the tires and so on
Gruss
Das sind beides gute Ideen. Mein system ist immer zweitschlüssel im Rucksack. Ich werd ja nicht beides gleichzeitig verlieren☺️
I have in a plan to to buy similar tires for my xj. Whats the size and tires you have on youre own? How is going on this tires on asphalt with speed approximetly 90 km/h?
I have to look that up actually but your local shop should know too. The tire is the TKC80 tire.
It starts to become a bit shaky around 130
Hello! Your videos are great. I have identical bike and i wanted to Ask you about the tires. What is the size on them and what brand and model are they? Thank you for the answer and have luck in your next adventures!🙂🙂
They are tkc80 Tiers
@@FreeMilesMC cool i tought they are, but i can't find those tires in original size that Yamaha recomends. What sizes did you put on? I'm afrade to buy ones that doesn' fit...
@marisjansons8892 i have to Look it up. From what Country are you as it could become very dificult to get These Tiers registerd with this specific bike
@@FreeMilesMC i'm from Latvia.
I suppose that those sizes on dirt tires are not very popular for that kind of tires, that's why nobody keeps them in stock...
Street bikes on dirt tires is not something you see every day. 😃
what tires did you put ?
It’s a tkc80 tier
Is that a seca ii ?
I think thats how it’s called in the US

See it as an investment for your filmmaking business, get a bank loan and do the tax-deduction for a work vehicle. Your films are very good quality and entertaining so if you work hard you will make it I believe. I won't miss any of itchy boots videos and yours, so investing for your own business is smart!
Blessings and prayers from Sweden 🇸🇪
Yes you are Right. But to be complety Transparent this Channel is barley making any Money. So I still need to growth the Channel First a bit more. But i always try to invest in to the Channel when it comes to Camera Equipment. Literally my whole normal 9-5 paycheck and the few bucks from UA-cam are in this channel😂.
The problem with ADVs is the term. Tenere is an ADV. Africa Twin is ADV. Transalp 700 is ADV. Those are totally not made for same tasks. And at the end of the day, you can have excellent adventure on Honda Cub. So what does this term means? My answer is - travelling tall grass with passenger. Adventure bike term must end, it's close to idiotic and does not mean anything.
Which tires? Interesting 'research':)
It’s the TKC80 tire
Hey, would you like to ride with me. I am looking for like minded people to ride with. I am new with bikes, and I connect with you. I like your crazy ideas and sense of adventure. 😁
Maybe its a good time to change your motorcycle for another? I feel that you like your motorbike don’t you?
Yes absolutely I have been though a lot with it ☺️
I knew it. Its a first love and you will never love another like a first one
@@FunRideExplorers actually second one my first one was a Yamaha FZR that one does not run anymore but I have it in a shed so I can repair it one day. The resale value even if it would run is next nothing anyway, so I can restore it at some point in the future
@@FreeMilesMC Its a good reason to back to your shed one day and put some heart into old friend? My love to motorbikes started after my divorce I was thinking to myself why it started in such a weird way? Maybe its a compensation of my mariage failure... anyway. But it started and iam very happy of that. Just wanna get a motorbike and travel to anywhere to feel free, admire nature, experience, meet new people just live. That feeling is so underrated in this modern world when we live so fast and never have courage to stop. Watching your movies i feel like im riding next to you. Maybe you will laugh but you look like motoriders form 70's and your look, long hairs, way of making movies, music all have some sensuality and watching it makes me wanna too experience such an adventure. Regards my friend. Maybe some day we will find ourselves on the way. Meanwhile your loyal fan.
Great video and content. But may i have a suggestion? Try to speak directly to the camera. It is the natural way of talking to the audition. To have an eye contact with the audition. Will be better. THX. Good luck on you jorney.
