However, based on your review, if I was deciding to purchase one of these devices for the first time, I would go with the Note 3. Three reasons: 1. Slightly lighter weight; 2. By watching your reviews I found that you are a big fan of Neo reader, while I do think there is room to improve especially in the reading statistics and the reading status bar on the bottom of each page. In Neo, you will only number of pages or percentages left in the book, while for example in moon+ you do have the options of adding the remaining time and pages in the chapter and in the book. 2. I received my RM2 just recently, but by watching your review on note-air and note 3, I am now thinking of changing note -air instead of RM2. Since I do have the Poke 2 for my book readings, I thought using the same environment for note-taking and academic article reading on Note-air will be more convenient. My only concern is the great writing experience and the sleek and elegant design of RM2 which I probably don't get on Note-air, I suppose? What is your say? @@loxire per Voja's response to a similar question by Alex Banica below it seems there's little difference. I ended up going with my gut and ordering the Air, largely because it seems more comfortable to hold!
Performance testing Neo Reader was very interesting. As you have demonstrated and I have scrutinized via low video speed, Note3 is noticeably faster than Air when it comes to dealing with pages with more to compute like pictures but they are really on par when it comes to less demanding pages. What I look for is the best speed in underlining & adding an annotation and exporting files. I think Note3 has the same hardware as Lumi. I have seen Lumi is really snappy with regards to this. I liked that a lot. But even with Lumi I chose A2 mode because less image quality bothers me less than lack of speed. If I do a lot of underlining and adding annotation repeatedly, it is important to me that it functions almost instantly comparable to iPad because of the sheer number I repeat this. So I think the processes I talk about might be faster on the Note 3 than on Air but I have come to the conclusion that it is barely noticeable. Note Air will provide very good speed in A2 mode for underlining and adding annotation, exporting files might be noticeably slower than Note3 but not a great deal and this is also a task that you do less often compared to the others mentioned. Thank you for that demonstration!

I want a device where I can keep my calendar as always on from an app or web browser. I heard that this is not possible. People say that the device must use a Screensaver. Can you confirm this?
If you are referring to my original review of the Note 2, then you need to keep in mind that it's over a year old, and that even Note 2 was upgraded and made a much better platform from OS v2.3.1 and onwards. That being said, Note 3 runs better hardware and newer OS the underneath it all, something that Note 2 won't be able to do due to hardware product incompatibility, so Note 3 is a better choice of the two, if you want to have the device for a longer period of time.
@@MyDeepGuide Thanks a lot Voja! Very kind of you answering so quickly: I have a Note 2 already, I take it makes no sense to seek to shift to a Note 3 that soon, but I was wondering..

When you refer to Screen Cast, do you mean that works like a secondary monitor screen like the Max Lumi, or there is any between these devices because I read that only the Max works like secondary screen. Thanks!
Screen Cast is an Android function where you can share what's on the screen of the tablet, wirelessly onto another device, such as a TV or a laptop or a PC :)
You can if you use a dedicated app. There are many available on Android and they support usually both wired (via USB-C) or wireless connection to the PC.

So my question is are they both updated in the latest version on both parts or you have updated it for the benchmarks, because if note 3 is not with the latest update that may justify the different results.
Lefteris Altouvas thank you for pick up this topic. I think the desta results in first part of review showed downgrade in latency speed for boox note air. My question is there a chance for improvement (back to normal) with next update from Onyx? thank you Voja
As pointed out, the latest update introduced a tiny downgrade, not upgrade in latency speed, by around 5ms. Nothing big, but it's there. As for the rest of the questions, i have no idea. We'll have to wait and see, but I honestly haven't noticed that change in latency on the Note Air at all, and the result came as a surprise to me, so it's nothing noticable in real world use.
@@MyDeepGuide I think it too. I'm very undecided because it's not a 100$ device so I must evaluate every pros and cons. For example it would be great to underline text in different colours or something similar. But probably the first generation will cost a little more than the normal Note 3. Anyway, you are great, best reviews I've ever seen.
Thank you :) I'd avoid 1st gen of any new technology, if you have high expectations. It's something that applies to any device or component, unless you know what to expect as an early adopter :)
Heelo Voja! Thanks for jour great great job! I try to find best option. i iam looking for answer for few quesion. And... sry about my english. Has Note 3 manual screen rotation? Has Note Air password protection?
I'd you are able to apply them air bubble free, they are great, but that is an incredibly difficult task. They are starting to pre-apply them on newly shipped units that are bought from boox.com, I think, but it's worth checking that out first with them directly for which model it applies.
Could the benchmark disparity between the devices be because of the Note 3 throttling the CPU? Especially since it is plastic vs. aluminium, so perhaps the Air would run cooler... did you notice the device getting warm or hot at any point during your review or during the benchmarks? If thats not the case, it's probably some OS optimization/driver issue etc, which hopefully can be fixed by an OTA update.
It's in the works, but first it will be Nova 3 and then Poke 3. In short, it's Poke 2 with an Android 10 and (surprisingly) a bit worse battery life than poke 2. For the rest, you can watch my Poke 2 review and then combine what i said here and also what the OS V3 brings to the table (you can see that from the Max Lumi videos). I hope this helps.

As for the rest of the questions, i have no idea. We'll have to wait and see, but I honestly haven't noticed that change in latency on the Note Air at all, and the result came as a surprise to me, so it's nothing noticable in real world use.
I saw Note 3 review and Note Air review and I think I will go for Note 3. Do you think it would be possible for Boox to launch a Note 3 Color in 2021?
Maybe yes, since eink will start supplying 10.3" color panels in early 2021. So, not impossible.
Hello :)
Yes, Note 3 has manual rotation.
Yes, Note Air has password lock protection.
thank you for answer
Have a nice day :)
How are the included screen protectors that boox ship with these devices? I've seen mixed reviews on Amazon.
Nope, not even a trace of Luke warm.
Hi, is it easy to adapt with mac book pro?
Thank you
Poke 3 review. Please, I am really waiting...
