The stoner character kept his clothes on during the lake scene because the actor was actually pretty ripped, and the filmmakers didn't think it would be believable that he could have that body and that lifestyle.
That's interesting. Too bad they didn't show it to help break the stereotype. I work out and I think I'm in decent shape and I'm a huge stoner. I know first hand people can be active and eat well and still have a longterm relationship with a bong. Smoking weed actually helps me push through the burn. Like a disconnect from the pain. I think people would be surprised with what they could accomplish if they smoked a bowl, put on some Rick and Morty and hit the weights. I think I'd be bored af if I wasn't high when I work out.
I love how this movie manages to lampoon not just the general tropes of horror movies like the group composition, the types of scares, etc, but also the in-character tropes like saying that the wind blew something that's indoors or the constant denial of anything strange happening even when it's obvious they're in trouble.
This is the best reaction I've seen to this film so far. You start off with no idea what to expect, which is the perfect way to go into it, and you just kept calling out every cliche and trope and stereotype, even the creepy twins! I was hoping you'd spot them at the end 😄 And that's what I find so fun about this film, because I was the same way when I first saw this, and it seems pretty common, you're like "the heck is this spy company stuff?" and "the horror movie part is so predictable" and then we THINK we know what's going on, but it just keeps throwing in one twist after another. Thanks for doing this one, I really enjoyed it! Oh and there's a theory that the "no glitch since '98" is a reference to _The Faculty,_ which came out in '98 and all I'll say is it's fun and it also plays with the formula.

My wife and I watched this movie when it first came out, and I remember having the same WTF reaction! 🤣 Thanks for another great video! Night night! 😀 👊
One of the real thought provoking takes of this film is that the old ones are actually US the audience. See there have been a handful of films that have tried to change the horror movie genre and up until recently most of those movies fail at the box office. Leading the film industry to lean into the stereotypes in this film, so We, as it the consumers of film, are the Old Ones. This movie definitely has layers and is very well made, and also opened the door to more groundbreaking horror films that came after due to this Ones success. Great reaction as always. I gotta be honest man.. for someone who flinches easily at the sight of blood, even CG blood. You seem to keep watching these types of movies a lot. ...and I gotta give you mad props for that commitment man. Also need to point out that, the reason why things fell apart around them was because a lot of factors. 1 being, they should've killed these things AGES ago.. Sleep/Docile should never have been a Permanent Solution. It should've been a Temp Resolution while others/someone/ANYONE comes up with a Permanent Eradication Policy. 2, and this one is in my view.. the most important Piece of why it fell apart. It's what you have pointed out. It has become systematic.. corrupted. Meaningless Sacrifice is just as Meaningless as Empty Recited Words of Prayer. Self Sacrifice being the main/most important part here. And they have forgotten that. As for the world getting destroyed.. they're just being dramatic. These things were captured before, and they'll be captured again.. what happened, happened.. because it was always going to happen. As The French Say, C'est La Vie. 😅🤷♂

I like how the characters are tracked as the wrong archetypes-perhaps pointing to someone sabotaging the process. Marty is actually the Virgin, he only seems like the Fool but is contemplative and hasnt had sex up to this point nor done anything foolish. Dana is tracked as the Virgin but is actually the Scholar since she slept with her professor and isnt Virginal regardless of the Directors statement. Curt is the Fool due to being the heaviest drinker making holden the Athlete since his backstory is a transfer student now on the Varsity Football team. The Old Ones knew the way things were progressing so didnt end things when Marty was marked as the Fool Dying because he survived, if he hadnt the proceedings would have gone in the wrong order.

5:45 I haven't seen a gas pump like that in about about 45 years. They weren't able to handle gas prices in excess of $1.00 per gallon and became obsolete.
I saw one like that on my way to Mt. Rainier in Washington. Not only was it crazy old, it came complete with a creepy, rude, and overly-suspicious-of-outsiders mountain man with a scraggly beard, wide-brimmed hat, and weathered skin. My ex-boyfriend and I were genuinely creeped out. He didn't want to give us directions, he asked us weird questions, and was overall menacing. To top this all off, we saw several genuine "mountain people" running around dilapidated huts, the kids were all barefoot and dirty, the dogs were mean, and they all stared at us as we drove by like they'd never seen new people before. We were completely shocked because you'd think that people would be used to seeing cars headed to a popular recreational spot, that the guy at the gas station wouldn't have acted so suspicious and weird about people going to Mt. Rainier, and I just had no idea that there were isolated, desperately poor mountain folk in Washington State. I didn't think we were taking such a unique path to the mountain, but based on what we experienced, we weren't on one of the main routes.
