- this shows how to set the radiator temperature on Samsung's 2018-2022 air source heat pumps note at 1.37 the temperatures are the wrong way round it should be 50 and 37 not 37 and 50
Thankyou so much for this video! This is something I had been googling how to do for a while! Been and had a tweak of the settings and saved this to tweak this winter as our useage is higher than I expected it!
Please double check the 202* setting. The video is correct, your note amendment wrong...i think.
I swapped the numbers round today on mime, the 202* setting and put the higher number on the right. The rads now work properly and the Water Outlet figure is going past 40 degrees for the first time since I had it installed. The rads have only ever been luke warm.
My rads keep getting airlocked and left screen says 5 and the right says 50 so what would be wrong there and it's using a lot of power I'm on pre pay power so is the something I can do to heat the house more but also not pay more
Thanks for this! Great help for my new house that has this system. One question regarding the weather comp. I’ve seen a conflicting video about how to set this up, and I’m not sure which is right. The setting for 202* you set the low temp on left to say 32deg and the height temp on the right to say 45/50deg. This other video (‘from the Freedom Heat Pumps’ channel) has the reverse logic. With the low temp on the left set to say 50deg and the high temp on the right to 35deg for example.
I guess the logic is wether Samsung mean that the low temps in 202* refer to the low setting on 201* or wether that are referring to the low outdoor temp ie it’s colder outside so have the radiator hotter. FWIW I think your logic in this video makes more sense to me!
This would obviously make a big difference so would be good to know the correct way. I’m happy to link the video :)
Thanks in advance
Hi RB, I think the video description may help you here: "note at 1.37 the temperatures are the wrong way round it should be 50 and 37 not 37 and 50"
@@donamccullagh937 thanks very much for your reply. I’m still ultra confused though. I think this video is correct and the video description wrong. In the other video at 2:08 they show the manual which literally says set 201- low to 15 and high to -2, set 202 low to 37 and high to 50 😢
@Graham please help :) the instructions at 2:08 seem to suggest this video is correct and your video description correction is wrong?? :) link to the Freedom Heat Pump video ua-cam.com/video/Ez254TzDMI0/v-deo.html
@@rb8946 I hope Graham sees this and can clarify!
@@rb8946 You have no reason to be confused. 201 and 202 are related: the water temperature will be low (37) at 15 degrees outside and high (50) at -2 degrees outside.
Where can I order or get an operating manual the manual I have got is about how to build a boiler I just need the basic operating manual I watched the videos were very helpful please advise thank you
you should be able to get it from samsung, if not the samsung distributors can send it to you.
Video for raising the water temperature for the bath taps/shower and sink?
Hi Graham. We have a new Samsung gen 6 ASHP. Large water tank. Only two of us both showering in mornings mostly and out during day so no need for hot water most of day- would it be more efficient/cost effective to have a timer to heat water overnight using cheap tarrif or time to fit with solar power during day rather than leave it on all day? We seem to have spikes in energy use at 9,12,3,5,9pm and 3am which must be hot water but not convinced we need all this hot water. Thanks
Thank you for the video… I’m searching the internet for information on these units after having it fitted by an energy company recently. Are you able to give me an idiots guide to the water temperature settings (economy/ standard/ power/ forced). Since its been fitted, we tend to run out of hot water with it currently on standard. Finally, is there a remote or app, that will allow me to access this system without having to get into our loft 🤷🏻♂️. Any pointers you can give me Graham will be massively appreciated… as I don’t seem to be able to speak to anyone who can help.
there is an app, its horrible so i dont use it. forced means heat the water now irrrespective of any timers set in the controller, economy is cold it runs the water 5 degrees below set point, standard is ideal and power uses the immersion and the heat pump together so its expensive but fast. if you are running out of hot water you need to get the timers set so its heating the water when you need it. hope that helps
@@myheatpumpchannel7577 that’s great, thank you for the info Graham, you’re literally the only person that has helped with this. Do you have a video on how to set up the timers?
I have 150l tank on this controller. We regularly run out of hot water when first fitted. If your unit can be set over 50 or 55 set it to that and hot water will be mixed with more cold water, equal to more hot water. Reduce the amount of hot water leaving your tank will result in less waste.
@@0princeluck hi, I don’t think mine can…. I tired and it reverted back to 50

Hi Graham thank you for video.
I have joule Kodak cylinder tank and it's tripping the breaker occasionally, what I can do for it. Any suggestions?
Just used these settings after checking over my mums installation in the Highlands of Scotland.. they didn't set it up properly!
Hi Graham, My radiator downstairs are working. But upstairs the radiators are cold.any suggestions to fix the problem please.ty
Can you just confirm that at 1m 37 the two readings should be reversed ie. 50 & 37 not 37 & 50?
I'm confused with this setting ?
Did you find out the correct setting
I have mine on 55 on left and 37 on right ??
@@Loulouox66 Sorry - had no reply to my query!
I still dont know. The original video comment says to reverse what the video says so now making Left 55 and right 37. however so many conflicting views now its hard to know what is correct. @@GordonEwing
Do I need to switch Off the Zone? Right now mine is around 22 degrees and I have a schedule that changes the temperature at night and then in the day.
To clarify this once for all for everyone because seems it's lot of confusion here - VIDEO is CORRECT. Description is WRONG. On the left side you have LOW (TEMPERATURE WHEN THERE IS HOT OUTSIDE - IN THIS CASE 15C). For this you will set desired water outlet temperature which should be low - you don't want hot water here. So in this case you will set lower water temperature 37C. On the right side you will set cold outdoor temperature - in this case -2C. For this outside temperature you want a hot water so you will set 50C in this case. TLDR: LEFT = 15C/37C; RIGHT = - 2C/50C.
My temperature control unit inside only goes to max 22.5 degrees and minimum 16.5 . It's a radiator water air source heat system, a Samsung unit the boiler is the same as this one. Is there anyway of changing the temperature on the unit? It's a solar panel system.
After changing the Water Law settings and getting back to the initial screen, the buttons Heat and Water Law can still be selected, and the Heat button allows me to change it up/down. On your video, looks like those buttons are disabled and can't be selected (greyed out). How can I ensure that the heat pump is indeed respecting the Water Law that I have set and not using an "Auto Mode"?
I don’t have it disabled. if I click ok i can switch to heat, cool and auto. I’m running auto. What i don’t know is what 0.0 means and what happend if I change to e.g +2 or -2. Do you know? It’s a bit warm here so I would want to lower water temperature a bit.
Hi Graham,
Love your videos.
- If set to #2091/#2092: 1, the compressor can be turned on or off only by the thermostat.
- If set to #2091/#2092: 2~4, the compressor can be turned on or off by the thermostat or according to the WL
discharged water temperature.
(#2092: 2, WL Thermo off → Water pump off, #2092: 3, WL Thermo off → Water pump on, #2092: 4,
WL Thermo off → Water pump 7 min off → 3 min on →.......)
Can get my head around the above. What exactly is the difference between each of the options 2~4 and how do they translate to the heat pump behavior? (I have an external thermostat controlling instead of the main wired controller)
Any insights you can provide would be highly appreciated.
I'm on the same boat. The Samsung user manual seems to have been badly translated from Chinese using Google Translator.... that is very confusing
Can anyone clarify the correct values for 202 weather it’s ment to be left or right for the low or high value
Please can this be clarified
Hi Graham, Very happy to have found your video's on the G6 Control panel, really helped me get the best out of my own home installation.
I am wondering if you would have knowledge on compatible smart thermostats that can work with this panel so to have better control of the heating in individual rooms?
hi any stats will do the job, but its best to go dumb, the last thing you want is rooms going on and off with timers etc, its best to try to keep them running al the time. investigate having homely put on your system, its amazing but its the reverse of a smart stat, it will throttle the heat pump to give just enough heat to keep all the rooms warm at once. enjoy
@@myheatpumpchannel7577 Hey Graham, Thanks for the quick feedback, I'll look into Homely to see if it is the solution I need.
Thanks again for the advise
@@myheatpumpchannel7577 Hi Graham, I need some help with Samsung control panel.
I followed your instructions on one your your videos re Field Setting Values 202 water law
I have keyed in 55 ° on left hand side (low targer) and 37° on right side (high target)
Is this the correct way around ?
Rads seem to be getting hot which they not before adjusting.

Great video, will you have to do this every time the power is cut in the house or should it normally remember these settings? Thanks
no it will remeber these settings forever
@@myheatpumpchannel7577 to clarify, is it low temperature left or right? Thanks
Nice video. May I ask if this controller shows somewhere current energy consumption, COP and similar statistics ? Thanks
So i will reply to myself if anyone is interested - it does.
thanks for sharing this, would be great if you tell us more about zone settings and when one zoen goes to rads, and other goes to UFH , how we set different temp for each zone ?
Hi, in another video by Freedom Heat Pumps, on 202* the engineer says you should set Low : Target value to 55c and High: Target Value to 37c. He explains that "if the temperature is low, the rads will go to 55c, if the temp is high outside they will only go to 37c. But how you have done it is how it is explained in the manual. Mine is set up the wrong way, as above. So confusing. Are we 100% sure it is the way you have described? 37 on left (low) 55 on right (high). I have both rads and underfloor heating. On a day like today where it is -0.2 today outside the rads only get to 39 ish. Many thanks.
Ive just seen the comment above, thanks.
Can you tell me of temp should be higher on left? 55
Right 37 ?
@OXLAND2011 I believe it is the other way round. Higher temp on right hand side. That's what Samsungs own manual says

Thank you, I'm confused as other video said other way around and I don't have user guide 😏
Can you explain this further please so I can understand how to check track and correct mine?

Hello
I have just had a service on my heat pump and after the engineer had left I looked at my screen and he has left it in the mode that you show at the end of the video. I.e. the water law screen. What should I do now , this is obviously not the home screen and I don't want to start pressing the wrong buttons . Not sure if this needs to be saved or not. Please advise
Thank you
Just press the back button multiple times to return to a homescreen.
Hi, we had a power cut yesterday and now our underfloor heating isn’t working. I’ve gone into the service menu and I’ve changed the 2091 External Thermostat setting to User Signal only on/off. Is that correct?
no, thats a bad idea, all you needed to do was reset the power to the underfloor heating after the heat pump had woken up, its just midded the run signal, you should NEVER go in the field settings its not a great place to tinker
Hi! My padlock turned off and I cannot turn it on. What should I do? I need help please!
you dont need the padlock, it just disables the controller, and i cant remember how to switch it on again sorry
Nice, how much is one system? Lets say 6kw, split model.
no idea im just a techy your installer will be able to quote you though
Does MWR-WW10N also measures temperature (does it have temperature sensor integrated) to measure actual temperature at the installed location ?
Has anyone familiar with this... ?
Cable controller meassure temperature in the room. The ourdoor unit has a temperature sensor and meassure outdoor temperature.
Could you give the smart phone app name or link joule heating

Can anyone tell me about setting 5081 PV Control? Use, or Not Use? An 8KW solar system is in place.
yes its easy to do but dont do it. all it does is takes a signal from your pv, if its working it stops the unit heating the water. just use a time clock for hot water instead, more effective and easier
Much appreciated@@myheatpumpchannel7577 Can I ask, what is dhw saving thermo on temp (5023)?
You should delete that video, confusing people
Totally confused
Yes me too@@m0j0risin
What exactly is confusing here? The only thing I don’t understand is what that 0.0 means and what happen if I switch e.g. to +2 or -2. I guess it will either raise or lower low and high temperatures set in service menu but i’m not sure. e. g. if I have +15 and -2 with 0.0 then if i set to 2.0 then it would change to +17 and 0. But just a guess.
