How to build a plastic bottle greenhouse for free or in a cheap way
the dafty way to building a greenhouse with plastic bottles
DIY greenhouse and doing it on the cheap
Cool!
But keep in mind the point of a greenhouse is to protect plants from adverse weather conditions, and potentially create a better mesoclimate for whatever you're growing. Usually that implies *as much light as possible,* and anything that refracts/intercepts that light - specially at latitudes like in Scotland where there's less daylight - directly translates to less productivity.
Any condensation inside the bottles, the bottle caps, the plastics in different angles and different layers, all that's gonna mess with the light and photosynthesis.
You also have to keep it clean, for the same reason mentioned above.
Could be useful in cases where you'd want _less direct sunlight, and more diffuse._
So I can't say see it being a really practical solution, but it could be interesting to try and cut each bottle along the vertical axis and somehow steam them into flat sheets of plastic or something of the sort, as a base material.
Well I’m going to be changing the roof however the bottles do seem to work well for what I need
Brilliant Shaun
glad you liked it
I am concerned that might not be the safest way to drill in those holes. do you have something to steady the bottle rather than holding it, just the drill bit looked a tad close to your hand.
Icklemissmosh there would be but I’m a dafty so some time I do dafty things but I will try and be a bit more safer
Not good but excellent
Thank you
