    If only every washing machine were designed like this, It would be way easier to replace the bearings.

    My AEG Lavamat 1370 is now very noisy on the higher spin speeds. It has the cast metal spider and stainless steel outer drum as it’s 30 years old and built like a tank. Your video has inspired me to replace the bearings … thankyou.

    Nice job dude, thanks so much for the vid. I just changed the four support springs and 2 pistons on my 20 year old Miele that cost me £900 back then. Look forward to when the bearing goes🙀

    Many thanks for the very helpful video. In my case the spider was rotton and in pieces. Spares seem to be unobtainium, can anyone help with finding a spider?

    • @bootsowen

      Good luck! Usually you have to buy the tub drum etc as an assembly!, try the online spares websites, they all seem to have the same inventory!

    It would be cool if there was a database of new machines with split drums that the bearings could be changed in them. I’ve a hotpoint Aquarius 11kg and I’m nearly sure it’s a sealed drum so when the bearings go, that’s it. I’m trying to avoid that in the future

  • @NormanGnome11
    @NormanGnome11 5 місяців тому +3

    Should have changed both bearings and seals - better to do them all together - saves having to take it apart again sooner than later.

    I saw one of your earlier videos where you completely dismantle the washer !! amazing.. I do have a quick question. If I cannot thread in the foot for the washer ( 800 series) because the bootm panel is bent, is there a good fix for it> replace the bottom panel?

      @@bootsowen Not sure ... thinking of lying it side by side and see what the issue is. SO far trying to thread it through a feel. Is the vibration problem typical for Bosch ( this is our first one)... it is a 800 series washer and supposed to be quiet ... but vibration and moving is quite a bit!

    My Daewoo washer bearings have gone… is it much more difficult on direct drive washers?

    • @bootsowen
      @bootsowen  5 місяців тому +1

      It’s about the same. It’s just the motor is mounted differently. If direct driver machines have bearings that are too loose the motor can cut through the tub and make it leak. Worth checking that that hasn’t happened first.
