- Basic Training Video for Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry, 1st Training Brigade, Fort Jackson, South Carolina
September - November 1992
This is a VIDEORAMA Production. VIDEORAMA is a part of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Division of Fort Jackson. fortjacksonmwr....
This is one of many VHS tapes I have that I'm digitizing and though it was 22 years ago, I still felt a little anxiety seeing my old Drill Sergeants. The video isn't great, and the music/narration is a little cheesy, but for what it was at the time it was pretty cool. I hope someone from my old basic training unit stumbles on this and has a chuckle. Enjoy!
Ahhh when basic training was really basic training.... my drill sgt. Smoked me and introduced me to muscle Beach.... and put hands on me... but I never had an issue with it... he was making me the best soldier possible in his eyes...I am the man i am today because of it... nothing can stop me and nor will i succumb to the way the world is today... I'm too squared away.
This feels more like 1985 than 1992. The music is simply classic.

I was in Charlie 2/13 from 30 April 1992 through 2 July 1992
My mom was there. Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Bravo 128 Black Lions 1992.
Didn't know it then, but it was some of the best days of our lives.
"1-28 moving through, echo-echo we stand true. Standing tall, men who fight..." That was the beginning of our company fight song!
💪👏🏼💥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸
I was in Delta 2/28 during this same time...
Delta 3/28 same time
I was A Co, 4/13 during the exact same time period. The video I've got has the precise same narration and sequencing, only with different guys doing it, lol.
Where you get the video? I was there Nov to Jan time frame.
Thanks for posting this.
I never thought i would see this again.
I don't know why the Army ever got rid of the plastic earplug cases as part of the uniform. Nothing strikes fear into the hearts of the enemy like a soldier who's always prepared to get prepared for loud noises.

3rd PLT
Graduated 8 July 1992
I was in B CO 3rd Bn 28th Inf 3rd plt graduated July 1992
If the video is an accurate depiction of Ft. Jackson, the rumors were true. That was a candy ass Basic Training, nothing like the aggressive tough Ft. Leonard Wood or Benning.
I was leonardwood in 1996
