So beautiful how Amos explained the Lord’s Prayer to his young daughter. Also how Andy gave of himself, and overcame the obstacle of lack of money in order to give his beautiful young niece what she really wanted for Christmas. There were many tender moments in this show which brought tears to my eyes. As a child myself in the 1950’s, I remember hearing the Christmas Carols on almost any radio station. Unlike today, TV and radio where not afraid of referring to the Lord and of reminding people to attend their place of worship.

How many of the actors carried over to television? I know that was a long time ago, so you might not remember. Heck, what kid pays any attention to actors' names? I guess I should just look it up.
Wow... that was awesome to behold. (Wiping my eyes towards the end) I never saw this episode. This encapsulates everything that made the times of the past so awesome. As much as we pretend we like this new Era of smartphones, selfies, woke attitudes, and broken homes, we all know we wished we could see one day like this on earth. Fathers, men, leading the way. Loving their families, being faithful to their wives, and putting the Lord first. This episode is Long gone from the dark world we live in today. Spencer Williams and the rest of the cast would roll over in their Graves if they saw the world we live in now. One day, God's Kingdom will come, and his will, will be done. He'll restore back to what he originally intended. 😪
I fondly remember the Amos n Andy TV series on our B&W TV set on a weekend night, every week, thru the 1951 to 1953 years of its airing. Watching as a small boy with my (divorced) mother in her / our / tiny upper East Side apartment in Manhattan NY. We loved this show and it was back then loved for the most part by ALL races and nationalities of people who watched it. Especially this particular one which I likely saw during that Christmas 1952 but had long ago forgot it. And, Yeah, seeing it again now, nearly 70 years later, wet my eyes also during the end scenes watching it ! And the flooding back of long ago nostalgia of the times and related memories. To think of how refined, well dressed and respectful the show portrayed the people of all types, back in those days and times. Real Classic television - and so sad it was removed from viewing for TV audiences for such totally unfounded profiling type reasons. Just look at the love, admiration and nostalgia the viewers comments below reflect for this show and its wonderful cast...a half century and more after the original series aired. Thankfully we can enjoy this fine TV series via You Tube presently - bypassing the long ago stupid TV censorship caused by what is documented to be initiated by the NAACP. How shortsighted their negative estimation of this fine television series was back then. Because of such the show was cancelled in 1953. Amos 'n' Andy was eventually removed (likely the airing of re-runs) from the air in 1966. With the exception of a 1983 documentary, the series was banned from television, home video, and eventually the internet from 1966 until 2004. It along with 1950's TV Shows such as Gunsmoke, The honeymooners, I remember Mama, and so many others, were a weekend routine for millions of families to tune faithfully to their TV sets back then.

Too bad there are no shows worth watching that are modern. I wouldn't waste my time. I will stick to watching old UA-cam T.V. shows. She is an actress, known for Bright Road (1953) and The Amos 'n Andy Show (1951)."
Alvin Childress (Amos) said this was his favorite episode. It contains all of the traditional values that all people hold close to their heart; friendship, family, and faith, with an appearance by the Kingfish for an added laugh. It truly was the golden age of television.
Wow just looked how well dressed they were, during those days. That Generation was my Parent's Generation. The majority of the people from that Era had very little and they still managed to dressed Elegantly and were Eloquent in their Mannerism. I wished shows like this exist in the 21st Century. Sadly those days are long gone and we are far down that Rabbit Hole.🐰🤦🏾♀️
Last Days....Never give up. I was blessed to grow up in the 50's//60's. The difference then was conservative values. People put a lot more faith in God back then. Tech. is our god now, and there is no respect from one individual to another. i.e. golden rule. When that comes back. class comes back, and we'll interact with our bros./sis, instead of our gadgets..

I never watched Amos n Andy really, but I really enjoyed this one. I love the Daddy and Daughter relationship...BEAUTIFUL ! Godfather was no joke...he got babygirl that beautiful brown dollbaby. This is classic.😊❤❤❤❤
One of my favorite episodes. I remember as a child in the early 50s going to the Broadway Department Store and Bullocks Department Store in LA at Christmas time to see Santa Claus and take a picture with him. They had all of the toys set up. I also remember all kids.... Black, White, Hispanic and Asian standing in line and the parents waiting. During this time, people were nice and polite to each other in the store as it was crowded with shoppers. As a small child, I never thought of the racial problems because I never saw it in LA. Other places across the country had them but LA seemed exempt from them until the Watts Riot exploded in 1965 and I was well into my teens. This episode has so much meaning now as it did then. The Korean war was going full blast then and our world today is a powder keg. One thing Amos n Andy showed was that interaction between the races were friendly and respectable.
One thing lacking today is communication. Everyone that comes into this country now...holds on to their former countries language...and they expect Americans to learn their language. It wasn't like that back in the 50's through 70's. Didn't matter if you were Italian...Irish... German...or Japanese...everyone spoke English...even if it was broken English you could talk to everyone. Then certain other nationalities came here and refused to learn English. That's when big problems of communication came. " "When you go to Rome...do as the Roman's do" In other words...if you move to another country...learn the language that their Constitution was written in...or don't go there. Same with learning the customs of the country you move to. I feel like a foreigner in the country I was born in. Sad!💔 I wish it was the 1950's again...I could turn on the T.V.and watch "Amos & Andy" and "I LoVe Lucy" and "The Honeymooners" and "Red Skelton Show" to name a few. Baby Boomer 47'
"...interaction between the races were friendly and respectable." Right. And not once, in the entire series, was there any mention of race or even a hint of it in any context.
All of the characters are great. I enjoy watching them .it does not make me sad. Kingfish is a good example that a man needs a job. And be the leader of the house like you suppose to be.
But Kingfish really didn't do much to earn the title of "leader of the house". That title belongs to Sapphire. Edit: Note the similarities between the relationships of George & Sapphire Stevens and Ralph & Alice Kramden. It was a formula for comic success.
The little boy at 18:30 reminds me of my nieces and nephews. They always arrive late with a long list of what they want from me for their Birthdays, Christmas, etc.
Amein! YAH help us all. Look how far this country has fallen. Feel like a stranger in this former America. There are no more moral absolutes...since they took prayer out of school and made abortion legal! We are living in the last days! "It's the end of the world as we know it!" Trans humans...cyber beings...controlled like robots. Look up!
Absolutely. When I was growing up, Amos 'n' Andy was taken off the air, with the excuse that it was "demeaning to black". The along come shows like "Good Times", "The Jeffersons" and "Sanford and Son." Give me a break.
@@TheDilovely they lived on fear of what white people thought of them, and they felt this shows like this would prevent their chances of entering "mainstream America."
Kingfish might have been the heart of the show, but Amos was its soul - and really its major saving grace amid a lot of heavy-handed stereotyping. Its a shame he didn't get more to do during its run (its hard to stand out among so many other colorful characters).

Sad!💔
I wish it was the 1950's again...I could turn on the T.V.and watch "Amos & Andy" and "I LoVe Lucy" and "The Honeymooners" and "Red Skelton Show" to name a few.

"...interaction between the races were friendly and respectable."
Right. And not once, in the entire series, was there any mention of race or even a hint of it in any context.
❤ amos n andy one of my favorite comedy shows ever this is a holiday classic
That put lump in my throat toward the end. God blessed these great actors
This was one of my favorite shows as a child. Not many programs catered to People of Color in those days.
I love this soo much. 😇
This is one of the best Christmas shows ever shown on television.
Outstanding
Times were so innocent back than now I see why my daddy was so humble 😌
Such a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing this. ❤️
Great Show - too bad people do not live by these standards any more..
Most people who have seen this agree tha thands down, this was the best episode.
Kingfish said he bought one Christmas card and goes around reading it to everybody😂😂😂
My 1st time seeing this show 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Damn...made my nose tingle and now I want to cry.
The little boy at 18:30 reminds me of my nieces and nephews. They always arrive late with a long list of what they want from me for their Birthdays, Christmas, etc.
Classic. Salute Ledgens
Thank you so much!!!!
Amem💯so much love
Ahhhh- the days when u waited for ur radio to "warm up"! ♨️📻
THE most beautiful episode ever
I like how they showed the little girl wanting a black doll
Its insane how they wanted this show of the air back then...
Happy Holidays Mike D! Thanks for sharing! Very inspirational! :)
Great Folks!! A model for ALL.
Such a great episode.
Amen and Amen!
HOW FAR WE'VE FALLEN!!
YHWH,GOD HELP US...please?
Amein! YAH help us all. Look how far this country has fallen. Feel like a stranger in this former America. There are no more moral absolutes...since they took prayer out of school and made abortion legal!
We are living in the last days! "It's the end of the world as we know it!"
Trans humans...cyber beings...controlled like robots. Look up!
What a Wonderful story.
I wish they would make good movies again !!!!
no cash in it. corparation bot line.
If only Amos explained the prayer to Kingfish!
Wow how things have changed
Every time I watch this episode I cry.
They were so funny and talented.
That could be one of the nicest Christmas messages ever .
Wow the black shows nowadays are so pitiful n disrespectful n senseless...this show is great
Absolutely. When I was growing up, Amos 'n' Andy was taken off the air, with the excuse that it was "demeaning to black". The along come shows like "Good Times", "The Jeffersons" and "Sanford and Son." Give me a break.
@@SheridanJazz I still don't understand why our own ppl wanted it off the air. I wish tv was like this today.
This was the first show - or one of the first - that depicted blacks as judges, doctors, successful businessmen, etc.
@@TheDilovely they lived on fear of what white people thought of them, and they felt this shows like this would prevent their chances of entering "mainstream America."
It's TRUE what you have said, we need to find god in our lives again .
But he's right here...you know that right?
Outstanding show from a white old guy!
👍 ok outstanding series!
Merry Christmas Eve! 🎅🎄
Love this one ❤️
Alright who is cutting them onions! 😊😪
A classic show. When someone tells you this was a racist show, aim them at this.
Kingfish might have been the heart of the show, but Amos was its soul - and really its major saving grace amid a lot of heavy-handed stereotyping. Its a shame he didn't get more to do during its run (its hard to stand out among so many other colorful characters).
