I actually like the vlog styles, I work in a different industry but it’s kinda nice knowing that I can learn and apply the knowledge you just drop

I just wanted to say I really value your way of thinking and appreciate how genuine you are with your community. Every video I watch on your channel helps me see my own animation path more clearly. It’s definitely a hard path, but hearing your own words from your own experiences makes me realize not to rush this path and to just experience the creative process. There are days I doubt myself and struggle to create but it’s so nice to see I’m not alone with these same feelings you speak about. Thanks my friend! :)

I respect your point of view very much. I've debated about feeding the social media machine with WIPs, little tricks I learn as I go along, my thoughts on various theories/processes, etc etc. like many other successful channels do, but ultimately I'd rather just keep motoring along and release the finished product, because all that side stuff ads up and can take a lot of precious time away from the main goal. I'm aware I probably won't reach that many people when I do publish my work, but I've made peace with that trade-off and it is nice to hear someone else taking a closer look at work presence/online presence balance.

Your channel is a gem man and both your educational and journal videos are super helpful for a self taught artist like me . Wish you a very happy new year ahead Toniko .

Just discovered this channel, and wanted to say I really like what you had to say here. As someone also in the industry and trying to find a healthier/non-toxic life, I am rooting for you to keep focusing on yourself and achieve a good manageable overall happier life. Please take care.

I like your videos. I'm not consistent with watching them, but they've been helpful in the past, or just somewhat relatable and I dip in and out. Best wishes for the new year, you do you

Thank you for this video man, I’ve been painting portraits and doing illustrations in different mediums for many years (not here on UA-cam), and I have experienced all of these same damn feelings. Really helped hearing you verbalized this all.

I really enjoy this channel and I don't even work in animation. But I just like listening to you talk about the industry, your projects and your way of working. I hope you keep the channel alive with more great videos.

I relate to so much of this! I feel I really need to distance myself from online things. Even though seeing other art is inspiring and incredible, I can fall into the same trap of getting distracted by what others are doing, rather than my own work.

I haven’t watched this whole video, but I want to say that your videos are the ones that allowed me to finally start animating, something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time, you made it approachable, and talked about your own experiences with it, and your own learning process,
I really appreciate what you’ve made so far, and you should be able to do what you want to do,
No matter what you continue on doing, thank you for inspiring me to start learning to do something I never thought I’d be able to do.

5:29 i never thought there's such thing as Story Revisionist! as someone who ALWAYS ends up seeing mistakes in my own works every time i look at it, that sounds like a perfect job for me : )

This past month, I briefly had a graphics administrator role in an app development team... The comradery, relief of being on a team instead of one-man-army, and enthusiasm I felt from witnessing the other staff member's talents... made me wish I could've kept the job... (but I ended up disagreeing on too many of fronts from the lead dev, butting heads in the end).
Point being, as Toniko said, we're hard-wired to be social... and the internet can be a pretty lousy substitute for the real thing..... if you're a solo operator who has the guts and grit to put yourself on the public chopping block, you deserve a medal, let alone some hefty slack from "just for the sake of it" criticism.

    Don't give up really tho
after watching this video it was just not like a tutorial nor in a art topic this was more into your own life it was really good without getting in a lot of animations nor anything, talking it was interesting as your studies ad stuff, I am not saying your animation tutorials or stories are boring or so just talking about your personal life is more of the things you would consider doing often than just doing it for the community its your art and your animations, so don't push yourself too I myself has been really inspired by your works and stories it was really sparking a fire of inspiration your work is great dude! so don't give up and happy new year into 2024! for all of you and to Toniko Pantoja

I don't really know how to put this other than, this video is just what I needed. I've been through kind of a slump in my art, feeling timid like you said, and I'm gonna take this advice to heart. Thank you Toniko 👍

I really enjoy your channel and the vlogs you create. Despite being in different industries, the challenges seem quite similar. I'm a veteran comic book artist and while I occasionally dabble in animation, it's mostly for my personal advertising campaigns.
I stumbled upon your channel while looking for animation tutorials, but I stayed for your insightful perspective on your creative process :)

I prefer vlogs and personal videos over "This is how you become a better animator!!1!!1!" every single time. I learn a lot more from it, i get a feeling for how other artists go about their work.

really liked this video and definitely gave me some things to think about! :)
while learning and creating a lot this year i feel i did a lot of content for content sake and i want to focus more on what i actually wanna do ... i have this slight feeling that's why i've not been taken seriously business wise and it also leads to people actually not knowing what im able to do out of my sketchbook (which is 90% of my content)
noce that you found a job that you like and with it are still able to balance your personal projects and development. keep it up! im looking forward to the next video :)

I can understand where this is coming from, but personally, I just want to make more speed art vidoes on my UA-cam channel, and I don't get a lot of views on there. And you know what, that's okay. I just find speed art videos like a fun way to document my creative journey especially on my UA-cam channel. And yeah, I can understand that you may have to step off the online world. I mean, heck, there are so much great art online that I truly admire like Vivziepop. But yeah, sometimes you just have to step away from the online world for a while, not to say that the online world is bad. I mean, there's nothing wrong with having an influence on your art. I mean, heck, the furry community has been a huge influence on me in terms of character design. So, during the year of 2024, I plan on getting a full time to job so I can move out of my parents' house. Also, during the new year, I plan on making more speed art videos on my UA-cam channel. But I guess, like you, I think I need to take some time off of UA-cam and just focus on other creative activities like sketchbooking and stuff like that. And then I'll come back to UA-cam with a fresh set of eyes. But anyway, I still want to keep making timelapse art videos because I'm thinking that this is a fun way to document your creative and artistic journey.
