- The (very!) much requested Airdots are here. Are they any good? Do they got close to Apple's Air pods?

The Air pods have been the most requested item to review in the last weeks and it took me much longer to receive them than usual because of Xiaomi's 11.11 delivery problems. These small, wireless in-ear earbuds connect over Bluetooth 5.0 and have a pretty stable and decent connection.
In terms of aesthetics I find Xiaomi's air dots to be a lot better looking than Apples Air pods, however, I had the issue of them falling out of my ears frequently.
The sound is not comparable with Apple's Airpods though, we held them side by side and found that the Air dots have less bass response and produce less low-mid frequency content. This results in a bit of a thinner, less full sound. Although the sound is really not all that bad, it is not comparable with higher end earphones but for most users it probably is good enough.

To pair them together you need to press "start" button for quite a long time. After the Airdots will blink red-white twice you will restart the Bluetooth settings. Then put them in to the box and done - next time they will pair nicely.

I upvote hoping your statement is accurate. Imo he shouldn't give a good review to a device which has such a massive flaw. I call these "cheap chinese crap" CCC.
It also makes latency less in some cases

I kinda got this to work, after I unpaired them. Basically I place them in the box, lit open. O ya, and off your Bluetooth scan. They would pair up, after I scan devices, only R was detected. Select that, and I got L and R to work now.
Most ear buds which in can be paired in mono have this problem as most consumers are crossing over from either wired Bluetooth headsets to these truly wireless type it's not just a matter of their are paired & ready to once you've mono paired them total reset is needed without your phone Bluetooth being at the same time try getting them both to solid blue light that means their both connect to each other ( one bud is the master receiving the signal from your handset and the other the slave) then place both buds back into the case then go back into your phone Bluetooth menu then turn it on again , now remove them out their carry case and they should ready to go in stereo format again
I had this same problem with "Jam ultra wireless earbuds" thought they so good bought 2nd pair before I found what was wrong it not a floor .

Comparing 20$ vs 200$ is stupid. If xiaomi made 200$ earbuds, they would be much better than airpods.

There are some great alternatives around 200 but I don’t think xiaomi will copy them any time soon.

Seems a lot of people don't have the problems you experience though, including myself.
Pairing was never an non issue not even the first time. Automatically connects both in stereo mode even if I've been using one earbud for hands-free calling.
The perfect fit can be tricky to achieve since it's more depending on the shape of your actual ear and not the earcanal.
Also the Chinese instructions is something they could've thought of but honestly it doenst say more than power on and off so that's not an issue.
The audio quality for the person on the other end is good enough unless you're in a noisy environment, they'll hear absolutely everything.
The case doesn't feel as cheap as you made it sound, it does have a nice silicone/rubber finish on the top that you failed to mention. The only thing I'd say it that due to the shape of the case, you tend to have a problem gripping onto them. Quite slippy.
About the sound lacking any bass, I honestly thing you didn't have a good fit since you also said they fell out one of your ears... The bass relies heavily on a perfect seal in the earcanal. I honestly compare the sound profile to the Xiaomi pistons 2 for example. Overall I'd recommend these to anyone!!!
*If you have a Xiaomi MIUI phone, you can change the headphones equalizer settings and make them sound full or whatever you like ;)*

Didn't Samsung make the Gear Icon way before the Airpods? the Air Dots look almost exactly as the Samsung earbuds, the only thing that the Air Dots have in common with the Airpods is the name.
it does not look anything like the gear icon either... the only thing i can think is similar is the case
Airpods is know for brand. Gear Icon came first but I didnt even know it came from samsung. Its for the marketing. its easier to identify they're talking about the airdots if they mentioned something like "xiaomi airpods"

As for the Air Dots... I think they're affordable and not that bad for the price but if you want better quality you might look elsewhere like the OnePlus' bullets or something in that range which is still less than half the price of the Apple's buds.
When someone says - AirPods sounds fantastic - I've just add them to facepalm list.

Maybe he gets a really good seal around his ear. Because if you take off the rubber off tips your earphones, they sound really bad too

I just got mine in... I was a bit disappointed because there was a loud buzz and the left ear bud kept cutting in and out while walking. I really wanted these to be working really well.
I got myself some of these after being sick of my Bose Soundsport wireless constantly disconnecting. Better audio quality and no disconnecting. Win!
You mean this Mi AirDot sound quality is bettee than the bose??
@@aimanjate8986 for me, yes. The soundsport wireless are a bit flat, the xiaomi have a fuller sound. I think also the cost plays into it for me. I'm a bit dirty about paying $250 for soundsport wireless and the xiaomi were $38.
I have over ear nose (qc35) sound better and I've had sol republic master and they were also better, but as far as wireless earbuds go, there is no real reason to go the Bose in my opinion

I also got the same issue before.
Try bellow steps.
1. Hold the both air pod buttons at the same time until them switch off..(after switch off you can see red color light)
2. Put them back in to the case and turn off your bluetooth settings from the moble device.
3. Take the both air pods to the hand back and hold the power button about 20 second. (After 20s you can see red and white colour blink..keep hold the buttons until next red and white blink.)
3. After that release immediately both buttons and put them back in the case.
4. Switch on your mobile bluetooth settings and take the both air pods from the case.
5. you will see L an R both from your mobile bluetooth settings. Select only R air pod from the settings.
6. After successfully connected R, were them both and try to here the sound.
7. If you still feel both them are not paired each other, hold the L pod until first beep and release it. definitely it will work.
Calls sound just fine with the AirDots. I had no idea the other end was using them on a recent call.
I'm on my 4th video about these. Your production value is still stellar though

Unless you're comparing it with the airpod, i guess they're fine. Both of these are not made for audio enthusiast. They're made to replace those cable earbuds. Audio enthusiast can get much better sound at both price point

I’m about to give in but when you say that Airpods sounds better, I guess I will be waiting for the 2nd generation.
I have the first gen xiaomi Bluetooth headphones and discovered with the gel earbuds it makes a big difference if you’re wearing the right size. Mine came with 3 size earbuds with the middle size being the installed size. I switched to the large buds which is more snug and it brings out the bass a lot better.

Oh yeah, I have tried that many, many, times! I still can not get them paired in stereo any longer. Not sure if it's a faulty batch or something. -Perhaps I will return them and see if I can get a replacement pair...
@@wanfahimi I have tried my computers, Mix 2S, Mix3, iPhone X and more. Also, I have unpaired them with all devices, reset the air dots, yet I still can't get no stereo sound any longer... After trying everything I can imagine I am starting to suspect I might have a faulty device.
Try treating the airdots as individual pieces. Turn on the left and right ones with a finger on each earpiece. It worked for me.

They DO fall off, and the audio IS really under standard. So you may disagree, but it doesn't change those facts.

I am! But on that note, there are new videos on the WickieMedia channel in the making for early next year and will be running both the channels full time from then on... A youtuber called Mitchell Millennial said that in order for the 2 earbuds to pair together, you should take the right earbud out of the case first as this is the main bud.

I'm wearing mine right now and maybe I have cheap ears but they sound alright to me. Sometimes there are sounds that don't sound as good as my computer headset, but I don't really care. I can watch videos, movies, listen to stuff and call with them. They are black and look good, which is why I bought them and was expecting from the tag price. Actually, for the price I bought them, they are very decent.
Edit : just make sure yours aren't fake. I've seen a reviewer using fake ones and I think he didn't even know they were fake. Watch videos about fake vs real ones to make sure you are buying the real thing.

Hi all. I am facing an issue with my right earbud. It blinks red inside the case (3 seconds on and then about 10 seconds off and starts blinking again) but when I take it out of the case he does not turn on or tries to connect to phone. Left one is ok and connects fine to phone. Any solution? Thanks and great video

Troubleshooting.
Both take out of the case, and press both till red led continuous blinking... Twice. Then after that return back to case and take it out all at once.

I had the same problem with the airdots on my iphone. I couldn't sync them in stereo.
But it worked on Note 8 when I connected both left and right on the same device.
I have tried on several phones, including iPhone and some Xiaomi phones and all have the same issue (I unpaired the Bluetooth on all of them to make sure that did not cause the issue as well) So far I still haven't been able to get it solved, unfortunately, Will try some more things in the coming days and see if someone from Xiaomi would be able to help out

Recently bought the padear mini x2, thats much similiar to airpod, the earbuds xiaomi is different type earplug,,, I prefer the airpod type one rather this(xiaomi) type earbud
here is going to be successful because a lot of people can not buy the originals of Apple, but the price still does not cost 29 dollars, I even paid 38 dollars for them, good cost-benefit !

help, mine dont turn off even when i put them in the case, they will still connect to my phone and even if it turn it off by myself by holding on the button on the earphones they still turn themselves back on, the problem now is that they will just run themselves out of charge, no problem i can just charge it right? wrong! i connect them to the charger and come back later after an hour to find that i basically had not even charged it, i check the lights on the case and on the dots and i see that the lights are red (which i assume means that they are charging) and i come back and they still have not charged, i have spent more than 5 hours trying to charge them and they still have not charged, so they purposely run themselves out of charge and then you cant even charge them properly... please someone tell me what is wrong, i might actually consider just buying another brand tbh
*Flat cable headphones* are free from charging. One can save one year of time, when not charging them :-)

will this work with honor play? i think its got only bluetooth 4 above.
Do you know why my Mi Airdots only one of them is ON? the bluetooth on my phone detected BOTH Right and Left and I can only paired either R or L but the airdot I am wearing only make sound either R or L. Not both. Why is that? Anyone can help?
Hello! You must restart by long press both of them and then reconect to Your phone.
Yes I have done that a ton of times as well. Unpaired bluetooth, re-paired bluetooth, nothing works. I checked it for three days up to the point of posting this video, but no success so far...

I have xiaomi earbuds global version the sound is perfectttt at first it fited to my ear perfectly but now it fells out after few minutes i dont know whyyyy😕😞

I like this product. Its a way cooler alternative for the airpods but even better than i9s or i7, the chinese airpods copy and they cost the same. This review is all i needed. Thanks

My airdots pause from time to time when jogging. Anyone has this experience? Quite disappointing.
I have v moda crossfade wireless, audio technica m50x, one plus bullet wiress(overall sound quailty better than airpods if pair with one plus aptx compatible phone) and then comes my best investment Apple AIRPODS and blv me i am using them with my android phones and never had any iphone but airpods have smthing magical though they are not perfect in sound quailty still i love der sound for long listening session so i can easily say its very hard to beat airpods with any of the headphones due the fact that they are super easy to use carry and the practicality is just gold standard.

Yes I will be doing a video about the vibration sensor as well. I have had them for a couple of months already, will probably look at them soon :)
Fixed: how to pair this headsets!!!
1)Pick one of two headset (the other one keep stored).
2) the headset turn on automatically. Turn it off
3) keep pushed for 30 secs (until you see the red light SECOND TIME!)
4) repeat the procedure with the other headset
5) store both inside the box and wait for 5 secs
6) pick both the headset, now they are synchronized.
7) you will see on your device ONLY MI DOTS R
ENJOY STEREO SOUND !

For the price you can't complain what air dots are offering . Xiaomi is literally killing when it comes to launching new items at an affordable price
yeah I agree that price vs. sound is pretty good. I just hoped they would sound a little bit better in that low end which would have made a huge difference for me. Perhaps I just listen to too much Hiphop in which that missing low-end is such a big part of the mix ;)
@@xiaomify I generally use viper 4 android and use custom irs samples and tweak a bit hope they will sound a bit better then .. but still currently sites like gearbest are charging double the rate of them .
@@shantamseth4407 I agree, the margin on that is a bit ridiculous. Some of their products are actually really fairly priced, although this one is just too much for what it's worth I.M.O. GB did tell me they don't have much in stock as they sold many on 11.11 and black Friday so that might be why they bumped up the price. -The price should drop early December, for what I heard. Perhaps more reasonable
@@xiaomify true that I have purchased majority of xiaomi of products from gearbest watching your videos and though prices were more but I could understand that they needed seller margin and were comparable to those on Ali express but this and a few other items are ridiculously prlced on gearbest compared to ali express. I am too waiting for their prices to drop to try one for myself .

No the air dot youth version is another model which are a bit cheaper. I might look at those at some point
