- In a shocking turn of events, Burkina Faso's Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, made a televised announcement on national television revealing the dismantling of a vast network aiming to destabilize Burkina Faso. This network involved former high-profile figures, including the former head of state, Lieutenant-Colonel Paul Henri Sandaogo Damiba, who referred to himself as the Patriarch and was to lead the military component of the project. Minister Sana also named other individuals, such as former Minister Djibril Bassolé, Newton Hamed Barry (former president of CENI), and Alpha Barry (former Minister of Foreign Affairs), as being part of this destabilization effort. According to the minister, the destabilizers had formed an alliance with a terrorist group based in the Central-Eastern region of Burkina Faso to achieve their goal. He also stated that Nigeria, Ghana, and Ivory Coast are implicated in this by means of harboring the terrorists and aiding in their plans. However, with the assistance of Niger, some of the people involved in this project were apprehended.
