We all need a friend like Scott! 👍
For sure! Scott have many years of experience with front and rear differentials, building and repairing custom axles. I've seen ones that he have narrowed and repaired, amazing work. Adam's Driveshaft even has him build for some of there customers.
Nice photo bomber at pick-a-part. Did he follow you home and become your biggest stalker fan? Because I saw him standing in your garage door.🤔🤣
Great video by the way. Can’t wait to see the next episode!🤩
Lol… 😅no you'll always be my biggest stalker fan he's just my newest one. 😁
Just got the brake rotors in yesterday I'll be working on the Conversion over the weekend. Have a great 4th of July🎆🎇✨
@@martinbuilt Well that’s good too hear! I wouldn’t want to have too up my stalker tools to fight for my status.😜
Have an awesome 4th of July too!😉
Nicely done, thanks Martin 👍😁
Glad you liked it 🙂
Omg the guy in the background 🤣
That would be one of my stalkers.😬
Thanks to your videos my XJ has the WJ Akebono front brakes and Barnes 4WD 1 ton GM offset TRE's, now I'm redrilling KJ rear brake backing plates to work on a SJ narrow-track D44 rear axle. Unfortunately none of the wrecking yards in my area leave any solid axles under the vehicles so no hope in finding a D44 with disc brakes just chillin. I tore apart 5 ChryCo 8.25's before I had all the parts I needed in one piece. Want your mind blown? Look up the price on rear brake dust shields for a 2005 Jeep Liberty. If you want a parking brake, gotta have those dust shields.
I know we got all kinds of dust shields down here at our local Pic-a-Part. There's all kinds of l
Liberties down there. Good luck with your search and build 👍
Hey Martin! Thanks for the video. Hope you are staying cool in Vegas.
Glad you liked it, I'm trying to stay cool 🥵
Like Your channel very much. I'm from Armenia. Will be glad to see the front and rear axle alignment! Thank U.
Really glad my WJ has 4 wheel disc lol but I do have an F150 with rear drums, though I probably won't bother converting since I plan on selling after I paint and redo interior. Great video Martin. Boy would I love to have a lathe, I'm sure you would too buddy! :)
Yeah a lathe would be nice but no room for one, I'll just have to relay on Scott to help me out.
It's definitely nice to have a buddy with a lathe...😁😁
It sure is! 😁
Hey Mr. Martin,I was wondering if you might have gotten the measurements off of the flanges or if you ever have some made-up. If so, could i get the measurements from you or purchase a set if you had any made. Thanks
Great Video Martin, not bad for 2 guys that dont know what they are doing. LOL!!! Now i understand why you said that its the hard way, yeah i wouldnt be able to do all that. I have no clue of where or how to even start. Cant wait to watch all the videos on this project and see the final results. Can only dream of it
oh, we know what we're doing, it just was the first time doing this...😆
@@martinbuilt Good Morning Martin, i hope you didnt get offended. I know you know very well what you are doing, 😎 i was just joking and going off of what your buddy said on the video. I would totally trust you working on any of my 2 dakotas hands down!!! No questions asked!!!
nicest pick a part i have ever seen. lol. never been to one that wasn't just oil soaked dirt to crawl around on.
Yeah they installed the concrete probably 5 years ago no probably even longer than that and they keep the yard super clean.
always enjoy ur videos ,I have 02 ram rwd with 4.7
Glad you like them! 👍
Ok Mr Martin how much to make up a rear end like this for my rt Dakota sir ?? I think Vegas is six hours or so from to drive out that way to pick one up if you can build it ? Thanks sir
Hey martinbuilt, would you suggest dropping the transpan of 2001 grand cherokee Laredo WJ, have govenor sensor and selenoid code 125k miles. I have read that i should not. I ts never been changed. and if I should not,.. can I strain the old fluid and reuse it mixed with new oil, so that I wont slip?..worried with all that i have read.. not to. help a girl out. thanks. You are a great teacher
If it was my Grand Cherokee with that problem I would drop the transmission Pan change out whatever needs to be changed out and replace the fluid. I think people that don't change the transmission fluid and think that that actually causes more problems is total BS
im assuming this bad boy is going into the XJ , Martin? great video and information as always! I wish my WJ had the trac lock diff!
Thanks, this is actually going into my 01 Dakota I'll be going from 3.55 gears to 3.92 and they with disc brakes should be awesome 👌
@@martinbuilt stopping power and fuel efficiency, nice!!! 😎 I hope its got the 4.Heaven in there 😜
first class work,
Thank you 😊
@@martinbuilt all the best to you Martin.
What did you have to do about abs module I have 01durango with 4wl abs and I was thinking about doing conversion to disc brakes
The ABS was plug n play..
Before i can even think of doing that convertion i need to replace exhaust manifold gaskets and valve cover gaskets
it's always something...Lol
@@martinbuilt i havent seen any of your videos on how to do those things, do you have any?
Would it be easier just to machine off the weld?
It's all easy with a lathe.
I seen online kits for conversions .... but no one ever shows the swearing & issues with their process
and those are pricey, I'm into it for 300 and that is Power Stop slotted and drilled rotors. Quite a bet of work though.
Did you ever make some of these flanges by chance? Looking at trying to gather the parts to swap my 01 Kota R/T
Nah this dude is insane. I have a 99 std cab. I’m leaning on just swapping to the complete 9.25 w 3.92 from 03-04 Dakota or Durango
This is way too much work when you could just bolt up the 03 04
Good luck just “bolting in” a Durango rearend into a Dakota.. 😂
Shit you’re right. The leaf springs are on the wrong side for the Durango
Think it would have been easier to just buy a 03 or 04 dakota..Boom instant disc brakes.. 😀😁
Yes it absolutely would be but back when I did this it was hard to come by in 03 or 04 in the salvage yard. Thank you for watching.
Do you need those Durango backing plates? Would you like to sell them?
I got the drums and backing plates for them on craigslist right now
@@martinbuilt I have a 2002 Dakota with a 9.25 rear end that I want to convert to the larger Durango drum brakes. My mechanic can't find the backing plates to make the conversion. Are these the plates I'm looking for?
