Those do make a difference in sound, Sportsters tend to have a higher pitch but that gives it a much deeper tone. Can't beat the horsepower and torque gains either, that's some really inexpensive power!
Hey, GixxerFoo. It's interesting seeing you here, and it's good to see your confirmation about these. I'm getting some for my new 2003 Sportster that I already love the sound of, with the stock pipes. It doesn't go, like my other Sporty that has drag pipes. Maybe this can close that gap, a little, between the two.
Installed the 2 in inserts on my 05 fat boy it's not tuned to the vance and heinz exhaust. Got better response on all gears. I installed the inserts on the exhaust tips. They had enough room to install the inserts without taking the exhaust pipes off. I am very pleased with the out come. I left the baffles on because it was already loud.
Just installed the 258! OMG! It's the sound I've been dreaming of! 4" V&H...didn't need to tune AT ALL! running previous maps and sounds absolutely AMAZING! 💯👍🏾💪🏾🤙🏾❤️
I installed the Thunder torque inserts into my Vance & Hines Titan slip ons after removing the baffles. Wow! Deeper tone and I can feel the torque difference!! I recommend these to everyone I know.
I have a 2012 FLHTK with a Vance and Hines Pro Pipe with the standard baffle . A little to loud . I was thinking of adding the 258 Thunder Torque insert to the pipe with the baffle . It looks like it may be a job drilling a new hole and getting the Torque insert into the pipe .
Yes, we have had more than a few Customers use the TTI's in the Pro-Pipe. Need to get a coupler nut and a stud to get it to reach. Not sure if the 258 will fit with the baffle. Might have to go with a 158. Here is a link to a chart so that you can double check the sizing. www.dkcustomproducts.com/choosing-the-right-size-thunder-torque-inserts.htm
That is correct. You want the most free flowing possible, with no reversion. You may find this video interesting- ua-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/v-deo.html
I ordered the Thunder Torque inserts for my HD 103 with Shark Road 4" mufflers. Right off after drilling the first hole, I noticed the studs were TOO SHORT to go through the muffler. Couldn't get the flat washer, lock washer and the nut on at all. Their was only enough room for the nut. I know that wasn't gonna work. The installation was NOT the same as the DK video, simple and easy...lol. I was gonna give Kevin a call to see what was WRONG. Instead I went back on line to view a few more videos to see if anyone else had this problem. Luckily, I came across a video by Night King on his M8 2020 Road King Special. It solved my problem. I won't go into his video, just go check it out.. It might have made it a little easier install if the studs were just about a 1/2" to 3/4" longer...
Yes, as noted in the instructions, some pipes will need a coupler nut to lengthen the stud. HOWEVER, we recently came out with longer stud options for those with bigger diameter pipes. You can see a video on them at this link- ua-cam.com/video/naqPtEcDcU0/v-deo.html This variation does away with the need for a coupler nut, or any other modifications for the larger diameter slip-ons.

Very cool. I’ve seen folks fabricate something similar to these for their non Harley racing motorcycles going way way back. Always thought it made a lot of sense and nice to see you guys implementing these for our bikes. Great workshop too and thanks for the videos. Great stuff. 🤘
Thank you for the kind words. Glad you are finding the videos useful/interesting. Yes, we used bolts and washers in the exhaust going back over 50 years. About 10 years ago we knuckled under and worked on dozens of variations, trying to improve it. Finally came up with the best version and got it patented.
@@DKCustomProducts Looks like ya got it sorted and what a great addition to our bikes. Well done on the R&D. That’s impressive and not a easy endeavor. Thanks for all the hard work. Will I get better torque and deeper tone with the baffles in and the thunder torque inserts or pull the baffles and install the thunder torque inserts? I have a 2007 Sportster 1200 with the Screamin Eagle Slipons What size Thunder Torque inserts will I need for the Screamin Eagle slipons?
You'll get better torque with the baffles pulled. Tone is subjective, it will be quieter with the baffles in. Use the 118's if you leave the baffles in and 158's if you take them out. Here's a little video with a bunch of sound clips that you may find useful- ua-cam.com/video/GuIgK-rc2s4/v-deo.html
I've never heard of Sharkroad, nor of tamperproof baffles. So I went to the Sharkroad website. Appears to be a Chinese knock off company. Here is what they say about baffles - 5. Do these mufflers have a baffle inside? Yes. You can remove them if you require for a louder sound. The manual instruction on how to remove the baffle comes with the exhausts. Of course, with the knock-off companies, and when english is not their first language, it is difficult to know if what they say is accurate on their website. If their site can be trusted, then whatever process gives you access to remove the baffle, that same process will give you easy ability to install the TTI's. If it is not accurate...there is no way to get into the tail end of the round pipe, right before the fishtail...You may be able to slip the TTI in there with some long needle nose. We have never done it, but it may work.
Any m8 114 experiences on here? Got stock pipes all around but I have taken the baffles out entirely and the sound is OK for me for now but I was considering deleting the cat. If I can do that and use these things to keep from losing any power plus get the sound I'm looking for without paying 4 to 900 bucks for slip ons only then that makes more sense to me!
I'm running them on my 2019 M8 114. Whether you leave the cat or take it out, these will give you a deeper tone and increase low and mid range power by a nice bump. Here's a video of when I first gutted the baffles and installed them- ua-cam.com/video/cOs1-bTPycU/v-deo.html Then, these are the same slip-ons on my 2019 114- ua-cam.com/video/yIbqJ7ytr3w/v-deo.html
It could have any positive effect only if ypur exhaust isnt optimal for your engine. In case that most aftermarket exhaust systems is first of all for sound this product can be useful.
Good Video I put some Sharkroad slip ons on my 2023 SG Special they sound ok, but not the old school sound that I was used to with the fishtails on my old bike. ? is, can I do this with slip ons or do I need to put the stock pipes on. stock sounded like a moth fartin in the wind (EPA crap) The Sharkroad sound ok a little more roar but still not what I wanted. Can't return them so perhaps improve them
Thank you. If you want louder, and more power, pull the baffles out and put the 258 TTI's in. www.dkcustomproducts.com/thunder-torque-inserts-258-model-family-dk-tti-258.htm Feel free to email or call with any questions. Support@DKCustomProducts.com 662-252-8828
Kevin, I noticed at 1:39 on the video that you left the baffles in the new mufflers. Will this work with stock CVO mufflers. If so I'll add it to the order I'm sending you for all the non-invasive cool down stuff. I'm trying real hard not to irritate the warranty guys. Leaving the intake and breather bypass until after my 1000 mile check up and you get the new transformer back plate out to us masses.
Yes, the owner of this bike did not want it any louder, so we left the baffles in. The baffles on this bike are straight thru, so the TTI's work with them. OEM CVO baffles are not straight thru, so there is no benefit it using the TTI's with them unless the baffles are removed. Here is a video that explains more on this subject. ua-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/v-deo.html
How do you know when “facing straight back” is the right setting? Another video you referenced 90% of the time this way is the best. But how do we know when it isn’t? Currently riding a 2021 Street Glide Special running V&H Torquer 450 slip-on. Thanks (For power vs sound)
If you are happy with the sound and the performance, 1 inch into the pipe no more than 2 inches in and facing forward is the best position. The main thing turning the Insert does is open it up and change the sound. For example, if you have the insert facing straight back, with the cup pointing out, but it sounds too muffled for your liking, you can turn the insert about 45 degrees and it will give a different sound, while keeping the torque gains. Thank you for commenting! 😎 MB
How would these be installed in a set of straight through 1 3/4” fish tails? As close to the tail as possible? Would they still provide the benefits you claim? After replacing my stock catted header on my cammed 96” with an S&S power tune dual header and having it tuned I seem to have lost a lot of bottom end torque supposedly due to my exhaust being too free flowing (according to the tuner). I’m hoping these will help scavenge that back?
Using Thunder Torque Inserts™ in your slip-on fishtails will give you a nice bump in low and mid range power. Below is a link to the TTI's. www.dkcustomproducts.com/thunder-torque-inserts-c57-337.htm The install is the same. Take the fishtail tips off, install the TTI and then put your fishtail tips back on. I have a 2018 electra glide 107 with stock exhaust. I want to remove the catylitic and then put in tti. What inserts do i use if i want to pull the baffles?
I would need to know the inside measurement of your exhaust to confirm this 100%, but I do believe you would need the 258's. I would like to see the Dyna dyno charts with the only change being the thunder torque inserts. To me, the high flow air cleaner is making the power. Not the thunder torque inserts... Touring bikes are a while different animal
No doubt that a good high flow air cleaner will make an improvement also, but we have many charts where the only change made was the addition of the TTI's. Here is a link to one of them- www.dkcustomproducts.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/t/d/td-tdtti.jpg The above is showing that JUST ADDING THE TTI's gave a 4.5% and 6.5% increase. I have a sportster 48 with a stage IV and VH shortshots and feel compelled to comment as these are one of the best purchases I’ve made for the bike. I took out the baffles and put in the TTI which took all of 30 minutes. They make the bike better, full stop. There’s no other way to put it. I don’t understand the physics of it and don’t want to know. These things cost next to nothing and have been one of the best mods I’ve done to the bike.
Will these work on a street glide with V&H big radius 2 into 2? And do I have to take the baffles out?? And also, how beneficial or harmful is it to remove the baffles from your exhaust with a tuner that has a “no baffle” option?
Yes, the TTI's work exceptionally well with V&H exhaust. Taking the baffles out will give more power, but even with the baffles in, you will get a nice bump in low and mid range power. There is no harm in removing the baffles, other than a decrease in power unless you use something like the TTI's. I believe you will find this video very useful/interesting- ua-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/v-deo.html
If you remove the muffler and install the TTI into the Head pipe you will see a huge decrease in performance and large increase in volume. If you are only looking for sound then that will work for you, but if you are looking for performance this will not be the way to go. Nice! I was gonna get some bolts to put in my stock pipes, but now I'm getting some of those. I was just looking on the site. I didn't know that there are different ones. I don't know the size of my exhaust; I'll measure it, but if my slip-on pipes are 3 inches, then it seems like it's settled, on which one to get, but if my slip-on pipes are 2 inches, I guess I could go with the ones made for either. I have a 2003 Sportster 883 Custom. I don't know if there are other factors in getting the torque inserts.

Good video and great product, much better than old school lollipops. I am a big fan of double nutting exhaust parts, I have had trouble in the past with baffles coming loose
Hey Guys, just purchased the Thunder Torques for my 09 twin cam . Right now I’m running the Outlaw 606 with the FP3 tuner. My pipes are generic drag pipes w no baffles. So that’s the tune I installed. When I install the Thunder Torques do I need to re instal a canned tune WITH baffles or just keep auto tuning? Thanks
No need to put in a new base tune. The TTI's function very differently than baffles. Auto tune will get you there. Thank you for your business, we appreciate it. 👍😎👍
just ordered the 158's to install on my slipons on my 2007 softail custom. Also ordered the Outlaw 587, and exhaust wrap. I already installed the VIED on the bike (its the first thing I do to every twin cam I purchase.) During the off-season I am going to install cams, a 2-into-1 exhaust (any recommendations?), an a tuner.
Thank you for your business, we appreciate it. I believe you care going to like the benefits of those parts you have coming your way. For a 2-1 exhaust, I would look at the Thunderheader, the D&D's, the SuperTrapp (if you like quieter) or the Bassini Road Rage (we've had a lot of Customers really like that one). The best way to know which exhaust you'd like is in this video- ua-cam.com/video/H681dl2X_f4/v-deo.html
The TTI's can deepen the tone, which some will say makes it seem quieter, but aside from the tone difference it does not do much for sound. You can read more about the TTI's at this link and there are a good amount of before and after sound clips on the description page that you can listen to. - www.dkcustomproducts.com/thunder-torque-inserts-118-model-family-dk-tti-118.htm Please feel free to contact us with any questions; Support@DKCustomProducts.com 662-252-8828 Thank you for commenting! 👍 MB
I have just gotten a 2000 carbureted twin can 88B, it has Vance and Hien's straight shouts with baffles, I love the sound but hate the backdraft Burble Gurgle every time i shift the bike. do you think these inserts will stop the jake brake effect? also i have no popping or backfiring in the exhaust.
The Thunder Torque Inserts™ will greatly reduce/possibly eliminate that sound you do not like. www.dkcustomproducts.com/thunder-torque-inserts-c57-334.htm
What is the percentage of the area of the outlet that should be covered buy the disc? Insert? For example if you have a 2 in diameter pipe what size insert do you need? If you have a 3 inch diameter pipe and so on? There are many common pipe sizes.
If the inside diameter is less than 2", you'll need the 118, between 2-3" you'll need the 158, and anything over 3" will require the 258. Here is a write-up on Choosing the Right Size Thunder Torque Insert™- www.dkcustomproducts.com/choosing-the-right-size-thunder-torque-inserts.htm See TTI here - www.dkcustomproducts.com/thunder-torque-inserts-c57.htm
2000flstc. Stock exhaust with cored stock slip ons. Stock crossovers between each header. Stage one and thunder slide. I would have to drill the ends of the chrome mufflers to insert this product and would I have to rejet?
Yes, you will need to drill a hole within 2-3 inches of the end (do it on the wheel side so not as visible) and put them in there. You will not need to rejet...you might get a little extra if you do, but it is not necessary.
Yes, it makes a significant difference, You want to get as close to the exit end of the pipe as you can, when the energy pulse hits the outside atmosphere, that is when reversion occurs, which is what slows down exhaust gas velocity, which limits the intake charge, which reduces power. Here is a link to a good video explaining...it has an excerpt from S&S showing how the pulse slows down velocity, reducing power. ua-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/v-deo.html
Today I made some lollipops with $10.00 worth of stuff from the hardware store. The bike I just bought was popping badly and I chased down some intake leaks using a good quality automotive hose clamp to seal where the carb meets the manifold and also got new intake gaskets but the thing still runs lean. So after I put in the lollipops it ran so much better, only a few pops when cold. I didn't like the change in the sound and it was louder in my ear, being the rider, though I suppose it was quieter from behind. I turned them sideways to see what would happen and it began popping again. What to learn from this? Were the lollipops restricting the exhaust? With a more free exhaust, it's not uncommon to have to jet richer. So what have I learned from this? I just turned them flat ways so I can ride this week while I wait for my bigger jets to arrive, but otherwise I could wish I wouldn't have drilled my slip on mufflers for a lollipop experiment. The change in sound alone makes anything in the exhaust a "no" for me. I will be waiting for my bigger jets as I ride with the lollipops in, as they do certainly serve a purpose at this time. After I re-jet they will be gone.
Yep, lollipops can help, but they provide no where near the benefit or improved sound quality of the patented Thunder Torque Inserts™. You can see more details and why they are so much better at this link, where we discuss how Harley Exhaust works- www.dkcustomproducts.com/harley-exhaust-myths-and-facts.htm Thanks for commenting! MB
No, the patented shape creates a Venturi Effect, speeding up the exhaust gas velocity. At the same time that it is speeding up the EGV, the cupped part is stopping the energy pulse from traveling back up the pipe. Backpressure slows down exhaust gas velocity. Back pressure robs power and heats up the engine more than needed. Here is a video on the subject- ua-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/v-deo.html
So I have to drill a hole big enough for mine too fit. Do I also need to thread the hole after I drill it or is the hole good enough? If so what is the tool and size of it that I need to thread it? Thanks.
No you do not need to thread the hole. The hole needs to be ⅜” in diameter. Ya know, I'm thinking that this applies to other types and brands of bikes. Coming from the car world, I've had many arguments with people about back pressure, I honestly don't believe back pressure helps. But doing something like this prevents reversion. I wonder on high power bikes, how much would this affect top end or not at all?
Yes, on most any gas engine, with open exhaust, these will boost low and mid range power. For engines that live primarily above 5000 rpm, these are not going to help. Below is a video showing the whys and hows of the TTI's. ua-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/v-deo.html
Baffles do Not need to be removed from Rinehart slip-ons to use these. We do ship to the UK. We used to have a Dealer in the UK, they went out of business during the pandemic.
Shipping costs, taxes, duties, crazy costs from governments and, well, governments, since they seem to be affecting the price of oil which directly impacts shipping costs. Have you looked on Amazon or ebay? Maybe they can get them to you for less shipping costs?
You will not need to retune it. If you already have a good tune, you will only get more power by adding these. Here is a video that you may find interesting regarding how the ECM can make adjustments on its own- ua-cam.com/video/0vbTkRvFa80/v-deo.html

The 158's at the link below will give you a nice bump in low and mid range power...using either the standard baffles or no baffles. If you are running the quiet baffles, you can use the 118's, or remove them to use the 158's. www.dkcustomproducts.com/thunder-torque-inserts-158-model-family-dk-tti-158.htm
The TTI's are made to produce more low and mid range power, they are not compatible with the Zombie Rings. Remove the Zombie ring and use the TTI for best performance. Taken from the TAB website- "The Ring... is primarily for looks ... They look great inside of the muffler cap and really help set your bike apart."
I read on Tab Performance's site that they recommend putting something like this just inside the header past the slip-on attachment. With what I've seen here, what is the benefit of one install over the other?
@@phillipjohnson1319 Watch the video linked below. Tab is wrong. Reversion starts at the exit end of the slip-on, and reversion starts there, slow down exhaust gas velocity. Having it at the front (engine side) may help, but not nearly as much as at the exit end. ua-cam.com/video/pr6z00gL5Yg/v-deo.html

Seems like it would be important to place them at the correct distance from the end of your pipe. Have you done tests to see where the optimal distance is?
Yes, we have done extensive testing on this and 1/2" to 2" from the exit end of the mufflers is best. If necessary, up to 3" from the end, but more than that and the benefits start dropping. Here is a link to the instructions that talk about that- www.dkcustomproducts.com/media/wysiwyg/exhaust/tti/11-6-19_Thunder_Torque_installation_instructions.pdf And here is a link to a playlist of MANY (52) videos on the TTI's- ua-cam.com/play/PLb3bvZgbH92-y9LGItkUD9O2fFo3-gtVl.html
We have done no testing on those engines. They will work with any ICE, but their purpose is to increase torque, and the revmax is a higher rpm engine than a traditional Harley, where HP may be more important than torque.
@@DKCustomProducts Thank you for response, I finally got my hands on 22 nightster and trying to make plans for a future exhaust upgrades. Also you videos are amazing, keep up the great work.

I'm totally shocked by the TTI's. I have a stock 2005 Electra Glide Classic with 3 inch no name slip on mufflers. I ran it without baffles for a day and it just didn't feel right. The power wasn't there and the sound was horrible bubbly. I got my W258 TTI's in and installed them this past Saturday. OMG, what a difference. Seat of the pants power is much better and consistent. The bubbly sound is gone and the decel pop (which I like) has a deeper softer sound. The sound is smooth and lower now, my wife LOVES it. Thanks for a great product. I did upload a video of the after sound too. ua-cam.com/video/XNsqhevC92M/v-deo.html
Glad you are enjoying the improved power and improved sound. Thanks for making the video. We appreciate it, and your business. I have added your video to our TTI playlist. 👍
They are a refinement, or an evolution of the classic lollipop principle that has been around for over half a century. Many years ago we spent countless hours working to see if we could Improve the old lollipop (washer on a bolt) design. We made dozens and dozens of prototypes, all in an effort to reduce reversion without increasing back-pressure. Street Testing and Dyno Testing of hundreds of variations finally evolved to the Thunder Torque Inserts™ seen below. They have a rounded wave shape that makes the exhaust gases flow easily over them on exit, and the cupped shape on the other side catches the reversed pulse wave (reversion), preventing it from traveling back up the exhaust tract. These are Patented due to many unique features. The bottom line is that they create very little to increase back-pressure, and in fact, speed up exhaust gas velocity because of the unique shape. At the same time they reduce reversion. The above was taken from a written report that can be seen at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/harley-exhaust-myths-and-facts.htm There is a video that describes the subject here- ua-cam.com/video/nB0XDQVjH9Y/v-deo.html
How something sounds is often subjective and depends on the listener's perspective. A lot of people like the sound with the TTI's and some do not. Thank you for your perspective! 👍 MB
Reversion happens at the end of the pipe. That is why they need to be placed 1-2 inches into the pipe, not in the middle. Those do make a difference in sound, Sportsters tend to have a higher pitch but that gives it a much deeper tone. Can't beat the horsepower and torque gains either, that's some really inexpensive power!
Yeah, depending on the bike and which exhaust it can really make a huge improvement in low and mid range torque.
Thanks for the comment.
👍
What about on a 2-1 exhaust, have you had any experience with them on a 2-1 or heard anything about it? Thanks!
I'd have to see the results on a dyno in person, or a non-edited video.
That's great! Glad you are enjoying the improved power. 👍😎👍
We appreciate the report and your business. Thank you!
Just installed the 258! OMG! It's the sound I've been dreaming of! 4" V&H...didn't need to tune AT ALL! running previous maps and sounds absolutely AMAZING! 💯👍🏾💪🏾🤙🏾❤️
Right on! Glad you are digging the sound, appreciate your business and comment. 👍
Hi, I have the same exhausts. Tell me, is the recessed part the one that has to face the engine, or the other way around?
I installed the Thunder torque inserts into my Vance & Hines Titan slip ons after removing the baffles. Wow! Deeper tone and I can feel the torque difference!! I recommend these to everyone I know.
Thanks! Glad you like them!
I had basically the same thing in 1968 on my 305 Honda scrambler, to quiet it down some after I cut the muffler off.
Yep, lollipops have been around for well over half a century. These are an evolution of them, but same principle.

I’m after for the performance and lifelong time of the bike not the sound. I all ways was told to Open it Up: Free Flow! No Restrictions!
That is correct. You want the most free flowing possible, with no reversion.

You don't want air going back in as with open slash cut mufflers
You can see a video on them at this link- ua-cam.com/video/naqPtEcDcU0/v-deo.html
This variation does away with the need for a coupler nut, or any other modifications for the larger diameter slip-ons.

Will I get better torque and deeper tone with the baffles in and the thunder torque inserts or pull the baffles and install the thunder torque inserts? I have a 2007 Sportster 1200 with the Screamin Eagle Slipons
What size Thunder Torque inserts will I need for the Screamin Eagle slipons?
You'll get better torque with the baffles pulled. Tone is subjective, it will be quieter with the baffles in. Use the 118's if you leave the baffles in and 158's if you take them out.
Here's a little video with a bunch of sound clips that you may find useful-

D'ya think that it would be possible to put them into sharkroad fishtails with the tamperproof baffles? Like with long needle nose pliers or whatever.
I've never heard of Sharkroad, nor of tamperproof baffles. So I went to the Sharkroad website. Appears to be a Chinese knock off company.
Here is what they say about baffles -
Here's a video of when I first gutted the baffles and installed them- ua-cam.com/video/cOs1-bTPycU/v-deo.html
Then, these are the same slip-ons on my 2019 114- ua-cam.com/video/yIbqJ7ytr3w/v-deo.html

Thanks
(For power vs sound)

I would like to see the Dyna dyno charts with the only change being the thunder torque inserts. To me, the high flow air cleaner is making the power. Not the thunder torque inserts... Touring bikes are a while different animal

I understand the TTI works better with straight pipes..if I remove the mufflers and add the the TTI ..would the sound volume increase??
If you remove the muffler and install the TTI into the Head pipe you will see a huge decrease in performance and large increase in volume. If you are only looking for sound then that will work for you, but if you are looking for performance this will not be the way to go.

I agree
Will these quiet down the exhaust at all or is it just a change in tone?
The TTI's can deepen the tone, which some will say makes it seem quieter, but aside from the tone difference it does not do much for sound.

hey mate good vids hey you said you run the redline is that all year for your twin cam im thinking of switching heard real good things about that oil
Yes, on my Sporty, Twin Cam and M8. I run redline in all 3, year round.
Hi guys. Does it make a difference which end of the baffles the insert goes?
You can see more details and why they are so much better at this link, where we discuss how Harley Exhaust works- www.dkcustomproducts.com/harley-exhaust-myths-and-facts.htm

So are these essentially putting necessary back pressure back in your exhaust after removing baffles?
No, the patented shape creates a Venturi Effect, speeding up the exhaust gas velocity. At the same time that it is speeding up the EGV, the cupped part is stopping the energy pulse from traveling back up the pipe.
Backpressure slows down exhaust gas velocity.
Back pressure robs power and heats up the engine more than needed. Here is a video on the subject-

So I have to drill a hole big enough for mine too fit. Do I also need to thread the hole after I drill it or is the hole good enough? If so what is the tool and size of it that I need to thread it? Thanks.
No you do not need to thread the hole. The hole needs to be ⅜” in diameter.

G’day buddy, this might seem like a silly question I’m new to Harleys but I’m assuming the baffles on my Screamin eagle slip Ons need to be removed before installation?
And I’m also assuming that on a dyna efi model it needs to be re-tuned ??
Cheers
If you cannot see straight thru the baffle (which is the case with most SE Slip-ons, then they will need to be removed. Here is a chart for know what size to get. www.dkcustomproducts.com/choosing-the-right-size-thunder-torque-inserts.htm
If you have a good tune right now, and all you do is remove the baffles and install the TTI's, you will NOT need a retune.

I would assume that any one of the 3 sizes would work on a 4" Harley muffler. From your research, which size would be best for a 107 M8 , 4" slip on Drag Specialties slip ons, Stage 1 and 2 with a S&S 475 cam kit ? Thanks.
Here is a link to the sizing chart- www.dkcustomproducts.com/choosing-the-right-size-thunder-torque-inserts.htm
Looking at the chart, and that you have a 4" muffler, the 258 is what you want, UNLESS you have a baffle in there that the inner diameter is less than 3". If so, follow the chart for sizing.

@@DKCustomProducts Thanks, I’ve studied the charts. Some users here on UA-cam have commented that they may be too restrictive. I assume that you’ve experimented with all sizes in the larger mufflers, so I was wondering if a smaller size would be better? Anyway, I placed my order this morning for a pair of the 258’s. Wish me luck ! Thanks,Bill in Florida.

Put two on a Road King please.
We've put thousands on Road Kings over the years! 👍😎👍

Would these work on a Shovelhead with straight pipers?
Yes, you will be pretty surprised at how much power it will add in the low and mid range RPM. Your set up will respond particularly well. 👍
Unfortunately I can't find these here in the UK. Also do the baffles have to be removed from Rinehart slip ons?
Baffles do Not need to be removed from Rinehart slip-ons to use these. We do ship to the UK.
We used to have a Dealer in the UK, they went out of business during the pandemic.
@@DKCustomProducts thanks for the swift reply. The only issue I can see may be the import taxes etc.
Shipping costs, taxes, duties, crazy costs from governments and, well, governments, since they seem to be affecting the price of oil which directly impacts shipping costs.
Have you looked on Amazon or ebay? Maybe they can get them to you for less shipping costs?

I'm no genius so forgive me if this seems like a dumb question but my bike is already dyno tuned so would it need adjusting when adding this?
You will not need to retune it. If you already have a good tune, you will only get more power by adding these. Here is a video that you may find interesting regarding how the ECM can make adjustments on its own- ua-cam.com/video/0vbTkRvFa80/v-deo.html

What do you do for Vance and Hines big shots staggered for softail?
The 158's at the link below will give you a nice bump in low and mid range power...using either the standard baffles or no baffles.

@@chipgroff9664 no problem!
Will these work with the 4” Tab Performance slip ons with Zombie baffles?
The TTI's are made to produce more low and mid range power, they are not compatible with the Zombie Rings.
Remove the Zombie ring and use the TTI for best performance.
Taken from the TAB website-
"The Ring... is primarily for looks ...

Quick question, would this work with the new rev max engined HD'S?
We have done no testing on those engines. They will work with any ICE, but their purpose is to increase torque, and the revmax is a higher rpm engine than a traditional Harley, where HP may be more important than torque.

How do these sound? ua-cam.com/video/GuIgK-rc2s4/v-deo.html

Is this what is referred to as a lollipop
The above was taken from a written report that can be seen at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/harley-exhaust-myths-and-facts.htm
There is a video that describes the subject here- ua-cam.com/video/nB0XDQVjH9Y/v-deo.html
