What if the bodies at the Tower of Rebirth are people that willingly carved the brand into their own foreheads (followers of Void?) and started the first Eclipse since Void wasn't a Godhand member yet to perform the Invokation of Doom?
I think the brand on the forehead is for the blind followers of the one making the sacrifice. Corkus is the only one who notably gets it there besides all those corpses. At least that conversation with guts in the bar makes me feel that way about him.
I read berk 2 times already. Do you think there is anyway or hints that they can get rid of the mark? I know the slug count couldn’t sacrifice his daughter and he was consumed. So what makes Griffith not accountable to the same standards for not killing Guts. He could have multiple times but does not. Even with Casca. Just an interesting thought. Lmk what you think! Griffith still sacrificed guts and casca, they both got marked by the brand. They just aren’t dead yet. The counts daughter wasn’t sacrificed and didn’t get the brand. I might be wrong don’t fully remember
