karate kid legends will take place 3 years after Sekai Taikai. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Karate Kid Legends, the director Jonathan Entwistle explained how the film relates to the world of Cobra Kai. 🥋🐍
I hope Jackie Chan shows up at the very end of Cobra Kai to set up the movie. Maybe that scene of him in the dojo will be the ending of Cobra Kai and start of this Karate Kid. Unless it's at a different time then when the ending of Cobra Kai takes. Not sure if that makes sense lol
The movie is set 3 years after Cobra Kai, so unless Cobra Kai did a 3 years later time skip and just showed a scene from the movie of Jackie showing up, it’s not happening. It also doesn’t make a lot of sense because the only reason to set it 3 years after Cobra Kai is to keep the two projects separate and to leave room in case they ever want to do more with Cobra Kai or do a different project in between the two. If they wanted to tie the movie in with Cobra Kai they’d have just set it immediately after
Imagine Robbie, Miguel and hawk are at the dojo. Han sets foot on the property, and there is a big misunderstanding. They think he's a cobra Kai goon. Season 7 type shit. So they all attack, and Mr. han holds back, but fights them with intrigue. When Daniel clears it up, Mr han tells them that they are great fighters. And he is proud to have been able to fight the sekai taikai champion.

The Karate Kid mixed with Jackie Chan and the Jackie Chan stunt team this is going to have some of if not the best fighting scenes in a movie period in 2025 mark my words lol
So my guess, is that since the secret of Miyagi do karate came from China originally when Miyagi's fisherman ancestor ended up in China after "stronga sun, stronga wind, stronga saki" that the person Miyagi's ancestor learned from is also the ancestor of the one who Jackie Chan's character learned his Kung Fu from. Hence the 'two branches one tree' line. That's my guess.

Miyagi’s grandson for sure. Daniel passing the torch (headband) back to the family it came from. That is why he’s been asked to Trajan him, he’s the last student before him
You might want to watch the Karate Kid Jackie Chan’s version first, because there is a scene in this trailer that relates to it. In fact, a few things are related, including an appearance by Jaden Smith’s nemesis in that movie.
This movie and the Original movies from the 80's and the 90's are connected to one another and also the movie with Jaiden Smith is a direct Sequel to the Original movies
It’s great reading that Jackie is a huge fan of Cobra Kai since the beginning. I didn’t get into martial art movies until I started collecting JC movies on VHS in 1999. I ended up with 30 of them. But I knew Jackie since 1988 when I watched The Big Brawl as a kid. I probably have at least 60 movies of him downloaded. He’s been one of my biggest idols next to Michael Jeffrey Jordan 🏀 🐐. It looks interesting. I personally didn’t have any expectations when I first read about it. I thought this was another cash grab. But ever since I saw the trailer a few minutes ago, it looks interesting. It’s probably just a copy of The Karate Kid movies from 1984 and 2010, but at least it’s merging Mr. Han and Mr. Miyagi together. We might even see a Jaden Smith cameo considering his daddy is one of CK’s producers. I didn’t have any expectations for Cobra Kai either. I know it came out in 2018 but I only started watching it around Aug 2019. I kept seeing ads for it on UA-cam. They even let us watch it for free. I thought this looks dumb. Another dumb reboot for an 80s IP. After a couple episodes, I was completely hooked. Cobra Kai and Top Gun: Maverick is how you do legasequels the right way. I didn’t have expectations for TG: M either and it was a lot better than I expected it would be. Watch me have lukewarm expectations for this new KK movie and watch it blow me away. It’s the same recycled bullied kid story who is new to a city. Then watch Li kick ass like Daniel, Dre, and Miguel all did. Ming-Na Wen is in it! Looks like she’s portraying Li’s mother. I know Ming tweeted that she loved Cobra Kai too a few years back. Now she can be part of the Karate Kid family! Ming is living the nerdy fangirl dream. She got to appear in the live action Mulan movie after being Mulan’s original voice. She finally got to work on Star Wars after she did Marvel. She probably idolized Ralph and Jackie when she was a kid in the 70s and 80s. Now she gets to work with both legends from her childhood. And she might reunite with her Joy Luck Club co-star in Tamlyn Tomita (Kumiko). KK: Legends now has two Chun-Lis! If you’ve ever seen City Hunter (1993), it’s probably the most bizarre movie that Jackie Chan was ever part of. It’s based on a Japanese manga series but it’s a live action Hong Kong movie and it’s so fun and wild similar to Kung Fu Hustle (2004). Hope to see some cameos from Jackie’s pals/“bros” like Sammo, Yuen Baio, Jet, Michelle Yeoh, Donnie Yen, and Stephen Chow. Would laugh my head off if Sammo, Arsenio, and Kelly Hu all showed up as a nod to Martial Law. Miyagi-verse could end up being the MCU / Deadpool & Wolverine that combines every martial arts star together but in a fun way. What makes Cobra Kai work so well is it’s actually quite funny. I didn’t expect so much hilarity coming from Johnny Lawrence. That’s Jackie Chan’s style for his movies. He kicks ass with his martial arts but he’s still making the audience laugh. Jackie is basically Buster Keaton if Buster was Chinese and knew kung fu. Maybe that’s why JC was so drawn to Cobra Kai early on. Made him chuckle and smile a lot. The OG KK Trilogy are too much on the serious side with some Miyagi humor here and there like honking the nose. I wish Pat Morita was still alive to see all this. He was a standup comedian, was Arnold in Happy Days, and he would’ve loved the humor coming out of Cobra Kai scripts. Jackie said he was a huge fan of the OG Karate Kid movie. Imagine Jackie and Pat together doing practical jokes on each other. So much laughter and fun onset. Of course, Pat would be 92 if he was still alive today. But Dick Van Dyke is 99 and he still looks healthy for his age.
