That's what I'm saying! I follow the FIRE community and one thing they say is work on lowering your big expenses before you worry about the small ones.

When our 3 boys shared a room we bought a very basic triple bunk bed. The bottom bunk was on the floor (but still had a frame to allow air circulation). It was perfect and saved so much floor space. Congrats on your new space and for all the savings. 🎉
You can cover the bathroom counter tops, even the kitchen. Boss mom hustle has lots of renter friendly tips. I would paint the bathroom cupboards black then line those drawers and you’re good! Smart move for such a huge savings. Keep reminding yourself wow the goal….youre saving for your own house. Show us more moving videos please, if it’s not too much trouble :)

Happy New Year! That is a huge saving each month. My very first flat/ apartment was furnished & had drawers in similar condition. I remember finding old-fashioned scented drawer liners at a discount store. It made the place feel much better during the time I was there.

Better apartment anyway and way more updated kitchen and bathrooms than my house. You can spiff it up. Garage may be the only thing you end up missing.
Way to go! I’d move in a heartbeat for those savings! It’s lovely! For the scratches in the cabinets there’s a rub on stain at Home Depot to match the finish if it gets to you. I think it’s the brand Minwax. I’m in 🇨🇦Canada so it might be regional but maybe a similar American brand?
I think I'd almost prefer to live in a place that had cosmetic defects, because then i wouldnt be so stressed about if my kid and pets (and myself, who am i kidding) were going to mess it up.
How many people are you fitting into your two bedroom? We’re downsizing and fitting 5 into two beds. I’m honestly so excited to downsize.
We are a family of 5. My husband and I plus our three daughters (8 and under) and one hyper golden retriever puppy. 😅
It’s me and my fiancé, 3 boys and a couple cats so that’s funny 😂 we’re in the same boat!
