Watching this again, six years later, stuck in over Christmas with Covid. My wife and kids too. Feel shitty and still positive a week later. Still enjoyed this!
A clip that gets as close to the real thing without actually being the real thing as it gets. Even the sound of that lusty little motor gets me. A lovely, evocative seventeen minutes.
I often wonder what happen to my old SX200 that I bought new in 1966 CVO 86C think I paid just over £200...did I have some fun on that with me mates in the 60's..thank for the clip....
Hi , not calling you a liar , but 1966 would not have been C reg .It would have been D reg ....I'm the same , often think about my LI 150 special 1969 G reg....That's why I've now got 2 , 1966 1967 one now 175 the other 185. Keep the dream alive.
Fantastic SX200, I had one in sky blue, it was faster than all my pals scooters, it was stolen & found in the canal, common in the 1960's. you gave me some great memory's.
My uncle had one of these when I was about 11 or 12. I was on the back of it a few times and can still clearly remember the seemingly unending acceleration. It would be interesting to have a go on one today to see if my memories match the reality!
The SX200 was the first petrol; machine that I learned on. With L plates front and rear, oh the hours of freedom at the age of 19. The rules have changed now, I believe. Only 150cc permitted. Still, I remember the scooter rolling form side to side when I first took the handlebars. Great machine though. Would love to restore one from scratch.
That carburettor is bofgging....too rich !! but what a beauty, had the same back in 83.....sold it to a mate for 300 quid as i inherited a badly beaten but heavily tuned TaffSpeed tuned PE225E ! Was fast as fck, believe it was the first P range Vespa ever tuned as in those days many believed that the rotary engine of the vespa could not be tuned ! Well they did it and boy that scoot was so faaaast ! But never made that Lammy sound !
Beautiful scenery and cherry scooter ass scooter also, Thanks for showing us your neck of the woods. Everyone Ride Hard n Ride Safe, Cheers from East Los Angeles California!!👌😎👍🛵🏍️💯
If I could just say you could do with a little throttle control lesson ie :eccelerate with smaller more steady openings and on downward gear changes if you selected in more time you won’t have to keep slamming shut and starving engine of very important lubricating fuel on two stokes you close slowly and easy if you listen you are driving lots on overrun burble at quite high speeds , not good on that engine .. and the tick-over needs tweaking ... just saying !
I had a 69 SX200 from 1970 until about 1988 when I had to sell it because I had nowhere to keep i an no money to send on it, sold for £30 the guy did it up real nice but it was stolen an lost forever :(
Best Scooter ever made! The SX 200 cc We as Mods in the 60s always going down to Brighton or Margate most weekends good days !!

I enjoyed the video have fun stay safe and great music I must say
I bought a new one in spring '66, all white as it left the factory. Traded in my '65 GS160 for it, as another poster said just over £200 new.

Brilliant vid mate, how many miles did you run it in for before you gave it some welly and what kit have you fitted ?
Music too my hears.
In 46 years of riding I have never felt the need to constantly rev the throttle and whats with the dog lead?

in higher revs i hear too much air. i think idle is not working. needs a rebuilt.
