Hi there I have designed a jacuzzi a 1st time rounder. The air line are connected with T connector 4 jets on top one incoming line connection all the 4 jets. Will the air controller work that way?
Man, it took me forever to find a video that explains what is happening. Your demonstration allowed me to visualize the problem I had (crossover) and how to fix it. Thanks man, seriously I was going nuts trying to figure this out.
Thanks I had a leak at the air valve. The valve looked damaged so I was going to change it. After seeing your video I blue air back into the Jets leak went away. Thanks it saved a lot of trouble.
Thank you for your videos. You have saved me from getting frustrated enough to throw out my entire spa and buy a new one in the past. I do have a question. The water valve handle turns, but there is no difference in the water output anymore. It doesn't get "stronger" flow anymore. I can't find anything this specific in your videos. Which video would cover this? Or should I just get the entire kit and replace it? It's a Lifesmart plug and play model.
Newbit question... For the system you show in this video - when the 'jet body' (the part that has both the 3/8" and 3/4" vinyl tubing attached to it) is permanently mounted into the tub - what orientation is used? In other words is the 3/8" air line at the TOP and the 3/4" water input at the BOTTOM? One other question - if I wanted to understand how these parts work - what is the cheapest 'valve body and valve' that I can purchase from your company? I am curious to see what the mechanism is internally here that prevents the water from just directly flowing into the air line. Thanks.
I use just blue glue on all new to new fittings and also clear to barb fittings.. Here is the glue I use hottubpartsofamerica.com/plumbing-and-related-parts/glue-for-pvc-plumbing/
How do you clean the inners of the valve? Mine is a Maax Elite that has a ball valve down in it. The ball valve gets blacj and gunky and this stuff eventually ends up in the tub. I've taken the topside apart and cleaned but don't know how to clean the ball valve. Thanks!!
Thank you for the great info. I noticed you said that it should be a closed system ...I still get lots of air flowing into my water lines even with the top controller on OFF position. Should that be happening? Do I need to buy a new Air control valve?
Hello Elizabeth, Most likely the air control valve has an issue inside like a broken cam or a bad gasket.. You can take the top off most valves and see down in and see the issue... If you don;t see something wrong stick a plastic bag into the valve with the system running and if the air stops you know the system is working correctly but the valve is not sealing off. It is hard to replace the complete valve in most cases because you have to cut the plumbing... In some cases you can replace the guts by buying the same valve and transferring parts...Thanks, Spa Guy
If I have some water in the air tubes I assume that may restrict the flow, does the tub need to be empty before disconnecting the air hoses to drain them?
Excellent video - only confusing bit for me - “you can tell it’s a 1 inch because if you measure on the inside it is 1inch AND 5/16 inch” - so 30% bigger than 1inch
Pipe is measured by the Inside diameter not the outside so a 1" fitting that 1" Pipe glues inside of would not measure 1" it would measure about a 1/4" more so it would measure about 1 1/4" Inside Diameter.. the added 1/4" or so would work on 1/2" up to 1" 1 1/2" to 2" would be about 3/8" more..
I have a Jacuzzi J480, 2009-2010-one of the air valves isn’t working...when you turn it, no air is going into the jet. could that be from improper filling?
If you can start the tub up and keep the pump that is connected to that particular set of air lines there will be no water there until the pump cuts off if all of the jets are working correctly.. Spa Guy
I have an older tub by streamline spas. It has 3 air controls, one works very well but the other 2 seem to make no difference when turned on. I replaced all the jets in the tub and the big diverter jet. Sometime the air control will pour out water. Can figure out why I don't have air suction. Any tips would help!
Jerry Hatfield Usually as indicated in the video the reason you have water at an air valve is a crossover between the air and water in the back of a jet body. Your Streamline probably has Waterway Screw in style Jets and if they are not screwed in all of the way the air system on that jet will not pull air. It usually takes more than one jet with a problem to put water at the valve though. I am very familiar with Streamline I bought all of the old parts from the Streamline factory and have worked on 100's of them. Another thing I ran into recently was the diverter jet not drawing air in some settings. Try turning the diverter jet a little one way or the other to see. Thanks, for watching!
My Venturi system is acting like a syphon. 1 out of 5 vent hoses is draining my tub to the 1/2 way point intermittently. I’m guessing when I point the vent knobs a certain way it doesn’t do it. I just plugged the leaker for now.
I would suspect a jet cross over that starts a siphon at the air control... If you solve the crossover at a jet that will solve it.. Also make sure you don't have the tub filled too high.. Spa Guy
There is no such thing as parts catalogs for hot tubs.. You can send pics of what you need to parts@htpofa.com and I will try to send you links to the parts you need..
I have an Inground hot tub but they game me they wrong jets and I didn't know it until it was finished. There was not 2 lines. Only the water line. Can I add air into my pump to crate bubbles ? Or is there another way to get bubbles?
That is a tiny swimming pool with a heater not a hot tub.. Hot tubs are in your back yard and I can load it on a trailer and move it.. I have over 10,000 hot tubs we service none are like yours that is for pool guys..

I know this is really old, but what do you do if there is water in all of your air lines?

I meant 'newbie'
Do you use glue or just primer when connecting the clear vinyl hoses to the manifold? If you use glue which glue should be used?

Hi, how do you attach the air control valve to the pipework??????

No. Your pump suction is sucking air. Look into your union seals or the pump glass head rubber seal.

I need help on my hydrojets. There's a continuous flor of water coming out of my air control valves. How do i fix this?
I discuss that in this video.. You have to diagnose where the cross over is in one or more of the jets..

Filling the tub does not affect the air working or not.. If it is not pulling air it is most likely a jet issue..
@@SpaGuy The jets all work great!
Hi, do you have to drain the hot tub to fit a new air control and tube in, with thanks G.Stacy

Spa Guy with thanks G.Stacy
What jets are used in the video cant seem to find them on your website
How do you remove air flow button to clean underneath?
Some don't come off and some twist of left..
Spa guy? Is there anyway that I can contact you ?

Hello I have an older (90s) Sundance hot tub, where can I find exact model number and parts catalogs

Just want to spa shock a hot tvb

You could do some kind of nebulizer inline I would think.. I am not a pool guy so this is out of my area of expertise..
@@SpaGuy it's more like a hot tub just happens to be Inground and we use pool equipment. Has 8 jets
