Interesting fun fact ! Toyota says all the fake vent openings on the outside fenders are actually put there on purpose as much as the predrilled holes in the engine room for installing future stiffening struts amongst many other things. Toyota says they did that to allow future tuning companies to pimp up the car to their liking. That's something I have never heard of from any major car company before ;-)
What I don't understand is why they're so against having their vehicles in racing games as they "promote illegal racing" but they're happy to encourage modifying and tuning for this vehicle, what do they think people are going to do with them after?
Its true i seen the reviews. Some People don't like this car, but give it some time once people start modifying then, there going to like it only thing toyota did rong is you carnt buy it with a manual gearbox.
Well technically they are fake.....it's just easier to remove and replace. Which one you remove and replace depends on your goal: down force? Cooling? Aero? You'd open and close them up accordingly. I personally wouldn't mess around with it until after the warranty's done and someone else has done the years of R&D to find the right balance. I was the first person in the states to own an FR-S (that wasn't part of the pre-sale campaign). I modified a few things then realized I lost the supeeeerb balance and brought it back to stock.

DEVLAD true, but considering that this is the GT86’s older brother, I’d say that even with the fewer amount sold and the higher price point, I don’t think it’d be completely unreasonable. renee GTR is great! But I think it’s a bit too heavy :) agile and light cars are normally more fun on track, depending on the driver, many Miata beat gtr on track days. But don’t get me wrong, GTR is awesome and fun to drive everywhere, and looks cool. I would totally get one if I have the extra cash hahahhaha. My next will be a Porsche, but I will test drive GTR before I decide on it. Porches are beautiful and fast on track. But it doesn’t give me that vibes like GTR or evo X or M4. GT350 is also sexy but I think I am getting to a point where I can’t decide on these awesome cars for their tiny imperfections.
I think I should get a GTR. Jealous of you!
It looks great, even if it is really just a Toyota Z4 Coupe!

@9600GTMAN Lol its fast then a stock mustang, not sure about camaro,we dont have many if any in Aus
That's something I have never heard of from any major car company before ;-)
Thats some last minute BS that Toyota came up with to sugarcoat the fake plastic vents!!! 😂
They trying to turn this into the new honda type r.
What People dont get is that this car is just the Beginning! The Supra is what we make out of it
What I don't understand is why they're so against having their vehicles in racing games as they "promote illegal racing" but they're happy to encourage modifying and tuning for this vehicle, what do they think people are going to do with them after?
Toyota lied, the vents are fake AF.
The vents are not realy fake ones , check this on youtube "The 2020 Toyota Supra Is Super Easy To Modify Because Toyota Designed it That Way!" :D
true
Don't believe too much of Japanese bullshit.. YOu can remove the vent but where the wind going to go.. my 370z amuse vent functional because there are space for wind to go... I block the front air vent since it slow down the car and keep jam.... and dirty my front brake...
ua-cam.com/video/mognhPrCqf4/v-deo.html
While the supra... The front you need to cut up a lot of hole just so you can get a little wind that not strong enough to do anything but reduce the value of resale..
You need a wide body kit just so you can cool down the brake...
@@justinchoe1673 I personally wouldn't mess around with it until after the warranty's done and someone else has done the years of R&D to find the right balance.
Removing the vents wont mess the warranty. That's stupid to think. They Designed it to have the vent's removed no need for someone to find the right balance they when already did
Just got my m340i, which has the same engine as this new Supra, totally love it!

And lotus uses Toyota engines and parts from ford. The Lambo engine is the same engine in the R8. Alot of company's swap stuff.. It saves them ton of money. Basically do you want to spend millions in developing and making engines or use an engine from a company.

The vents actually are functional. You just have to remove the plastic behind them🤪
lol
One thing I noticed about today's car fans is that they believe any marketing writing.
Carlos Guevara they can be made functional, but it’s not a case of popping out the plastics, you do have to do a bit of cutting I think. Idk

Unluckysod and no manual. I find it strange that they wanted to keep an in-line 6 for heritage but didn’t keep the manual. It is, however, possible for the car to come with a manual option later. I’m just waiting for the aftermarket to go crazy with this car.
@@yummyhershey5902 low volume car, with a low percentage of manual uptake. They'd sell very few. Even the MK4 had more autos than manuals sold - that said, it was more of a GT car than this.
DEVLAD true, but considering that this is the GT86’s older brother, I’d say that even with the fewer amount sold and the higher price point, I don’t think it’d be completely unreasonable. Toyota isn’t making this car for profit necessarily. They’re making it because they want to. They want to avoid it putting them in the negatives. All a guy can do is hope.
@@devlad Yeah, i read somewhere a couple days ago that only 1/3 of 86's sold to date (including BRZ, FRS) are manuals. This shows how little manuals are being sold even for a enthusiasts car like the 86.

There was almost no real cooperation between Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. One reason why they didn't win.

Joe Burton You driven a Supra ? Any Supra before the Mark 4 ?
toyota purposley put fake vents on there it's for the aftermarket department so if you modify your car you need more cooling so you take it off.

@LoJh23 Cause it's a Supra. The old MKIV was $56k which is $80k in today's money yet pretty much all of them are modified. Supra's whole namesake is meant for tuning.
