How do you get the outage tool?
And what is your job? You say you get a lot of calls so do you work for Eero?

Thank you for the review, I'm currently using the pro eero 6e and looking to upgrade to the 7 max, with a 10gbs WiFi.
Is it possible to use the eero 7 as router and then add in additional 7s for extender? At the moment (cause of the limitation of the ports of eero 6), I'm doing modem to router to eero 6 as gateway and then extenders.
Now with the additional ports it makes sense to use eero 7 as router and then have it only a switch and have plugged in eero in every room

You can definitely use the Max 7 units as WiFi extenders with another one as the gateway unit. This will give you better roaming than using 6E Pros as you can use fewer units (mainly for larger homes). Question: Just so I'm clear...you're using modem>separate router>Eero currently...correct? Is there a reason you aren't using modem>Eero as router>switch? You'll have better data on network metrics doing this.

Yes you are right on the current setup, the reason being is I have an IP camera (with static IP configured to the router), the switch and modem don't required 3 ports but the eero 6 only gave 2.
But in the new place which is larger I plan on doing modem -> eero 7 router -> switch -> eero 7 max nodes.
How many do you think I'll need? The place is 3 levels and around 5.5k square feet

@@kirps100 Depending on how much coverage you need outside, your building material and the location of the gateway...2-3 units. Just did a 2900 sq.ft house that is 3 levels with one (however, outside wasn't great and required another unit). Please consider buying them through here if you aren't in the So Cal area! I wonder if you already have eero wifi 6e can you buy a 7 and link them. I am about to buy a house and the builder has 2 wifi 6e pre installed in the house.

Sure can. We've done this multiple times for clients in the exact same boat that you are. NOTE: You will want to use the Max 7 as the gateway/router connected to your modem...not as an extender.
If this is helpful, please consider getting the Max 7 through the link below as you pay the same but it helps us to continue doing this. Thanks!

Are you using a eero app for a PC ? because my android eero app dont have outages or anything under activity except my current activity.

I'd have to check with my Android guy as I don't have one on me this second but you should be able to see it. Go to your network (if there is an option for "Manage in eero Insight" choose that first) and then push hamburger menu>Activity center>Outages. You will see it from there.

I can't find anything about the speed of each wifi band separately.

Good questions. Tri-band (Wi-Fi Bands - 2.4-GHz: 4x4 (Tx/Rx), 5-GHz: 4x4 (Tx/Rx), 6-GHz: 4x4 (Tx/Rx)...it's hard to find exact speeds as we have seen varying numbers BUT up to 4.3 Gbps WiFi on 6Ghz...I couldn't find separate band maxes. HOWEVER, this is very dependent on devices used for testing, cabling running through house, walljacks, service, etc. For me, I'd be happy getting 1Gbps at this moment due to fluctuations in all the above.

      Thanks for the info
I guess I'm getting the Deco BE95 then.
It's quad band with known speed for each band.
Please consider reviewing that mesh router one day.
