INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION for the Reversaru reverse drive kit to suit the Subaru 4EAT transmission for use in a T2 VW bus / Kombi or T25 / T3 Vanagon. If your VW has a Subaru engine already installed you can install the 4EAT transmission and splice the TCU into the existing Subaru harness. We have also been asked if the Reversau Reverse drive Kit (for the 4EAT Subaru Automatic transmission) can be installed even if a Subarugears chain driven kit has been installed previously. The answer is yes, but the top shaft will need to be modified. Please contact us at [e-mail] to receive the torque setting and tightening procedure for the 'R'Type lock nut that retains the centre gear. This lock nut sets the pre-load of the 2x tapered roller bearings.

I upgraded to this kit. Good idea BUT the quality control sucks my van has been down now for over 2 months. I was lucky enough to get a set of the bad gears. This means I have to disassemble everything and find a machinist to make the repair. Then find a time that works for my mechanic to reinstall. For the price I was expecting more.

Nice! The transfer gear plate is an ingenious design - I see it pilots into the lower bearing location. Pretty quick to install the kit too. Must be quite robust with the gears to handle the loads needed to push around those big, heavy campers in the video?!

Seems simple enough, though, I didnt realize the top shaft will need to be machined....
