Hello wonderful person! I'm taking one more day off due to allergies as making recording is a bit tough this week, so enjoy an older compilation of various physics discoveries from 2023-2024 that made the news! Have fun and stay healthy Back to regular schedule tomorrow!
Hello. I like the combination video so that’s cool. But recently an interesting paper about planet 9 came out. Could you make a video about that paper? I would love to see that.
Something really cool about your channel has been watching your personal growth over the years. I remember in the very tragic video last year you mentioned that you started the channel after the loss of your beloved mother. Upon learning this I can feel that pain in your voice in older videos. Particularly over the last year through, after what I can only imagine was rock bottom, Im noticing a change in your voice and energy. Stepping away from the formula, more jokes, more varied tone in your voice, and honestly a lot more confidence and serenity. Life is strange how we can go through hell and come out more powerful than ever, and Im noticing that resilience more than ever in you now. Youre making the videos your way, youre speaking how you wish and youre simply displaying more inner peace now, all while maintaining the nuanced and lifelong-learning relationship with information that makes you such a great communicator for viewers who are at least intermediately saavy in space and science subject matter. Personally I'd say you must be among the hardest working youtubers in general, and the information density of your content is consistently unparalleled on the platform. Edit furthermore you also do this thing where you start with existing research and then move to the new research
According to Islam, God created 7 universes, each has their own properties that is different than the other, between each one there is a gap that will take 50k years to travel through, and 4 of them are dead contain no living thing, 3 of them filled with creation and living things.
3:05:11: I'm a big fan of Anton's work and truly appreciate his diverse collection of science videos. I just wanted to clarify a couple of minor points regarding the Many Worlds Interpretation (MWI) of quantum mechanics. The term MWI was coined by Bryce DeWitt in the late 1960s and early ‘70s, not Dr. Everett, who in 1957 referred to his idea as the 'Relative State Formulation.' Additionally, Dr. Everett recognized the significance of quantum waves in the theory of quantum mechanics, but he did not consider them physical in any sense other than their theoretical role. It's also important to note that, as of now, there's no concrete evidence favoring any one interpretation of quantum mechanics over another. Personally, I find Dr. Hugh Everett’s interpretation to be the most elegant and straightforward. I'm hopeful that it might one day receive the evidentiary support it merits, reflecting the respect and acknowledgment that was initially lacking when Dr. Everett proposed his ideas. May the best interpretation prevail! Kudos to Anton for sparking such fascinating discussions and broadening our understanding of complex scientific concepts.
YOU'RE A REAL AND A HONEST PERSON WHO GIVES HIS WORK CONSISTENTLY AND AFTER RESEARCHING AND NOT LIKE OTHER UA-camRS WHO JUST USE ai TO PUBLISH VIDEOS 24×7 WITH NO SENSE AND THUS ALSO TAKING AWAY THE RIGHT KNOWLEDGE WE HAD AWAY FROM US AND INSERT FALSE INFO. 🎉❤
Very clear. It is funny how the small amount of information released to the media. Condensed and without logic. And how we jump to conclusions lacking all the information or just supplied with snippets and skewed contexts . You do it right!
I feel my life is more more wholesome and just better with Anton Petrov’s videos. I really wish he also made some videos about other subjects that interest him.
I wish your mom and son were with you today physically, but you help countless people understand how you can still have your life, despite them being with you in different ways not physical.
3:01:20 _They assume a property and become a classical particle._ The latter is wrong. A particle is always quantum, and it's always in one state. However, this state is most probably composed of many _eigenstates_ of a certain observable I'm about to measure. When I do, it switches to being in an eigenstate of this observable which, on the other hand, is a composite of multiple eigenstates of another variable. For example, if I measure position, I make it a particle with a certain position but this automatically consists of multiple momentum eigenstates.
41:24 _... or through classical chemistry ..._ The very existence of chemistry as we know it is fundamentally quantum. Atoms weren't built as they are if the particles which make them up behaved classically. Actually they wouldn't even exist.
I think of the multiverse like an Etch A Sketch, the information is there but it doesn't have coherence until it's interacted with. An interaction like lensing maybe adds coherence to the information, or the fields screen out the information that would otherwise become incoherent.
Hey Anton is it possible or plausible For our universe to have started and then had another universe starting at the same time near us merger with our beginning universe so that similar time frames for both of them from when they started and they got big enough they merged before the CMB that really kicked off the initial expansion inflation?
Thanks Anton for this amazing video! Regarding the first topic, you mentioned that they decided to work with Potassium atoms (to replicate microscopically the "bubles", I think it was for the 2D experiment) . Why this specific choice?
Question, if the edge of the universe appears to be moving away from us faster than the speed of light, would this perceived "action" perhaps suggest we are witnessing something in reverse? Might also explain the hard stop of CMB? The bag is closing? Just a deep thought.
In the lightning segment I was expecting a reference about how Apollo 12 was struck twice by lightning during launch, damaging some systems and making launch operations more attentive to thunderstorms, if not temperature.
isnt it possible that we simply cannot see beyond the cmb rather than the cmb being the result of the "start of our timeline?" imo, time can be both linear & cyclical. These aren’t mutually exclusive
I like the Theory of using these Bubbles to Help Solve the Hubble Constant, and in a Better Calculator for Galactic/Universal Distances. Come Watson, the Game is Afoot.
Instead of replacing conventional rockets why not aid them.. pushing energy waves through the walls of the craft. Sound pushes mass. Sterios at the back of your truck facing forward ⏪ not backward because . Its not thrust . The vibrations pushing the vehicle would reduce cost of fuel
The vibrations need to be off of air on earth. That’s how we hear them. We hear the air molecules vibrating. There is no air in space for the sound waves to interact with. No sound in space right?
curl your hand into a fist. Chirality is which way the fingers curl. If there is a chirality, that might be something that happened inside a rotating black hole.

Veritassium just outed a video about the math behind multiverse, and it is all about a division by zero...would you mind comment on it? As far as I understand, division by zero result is an error, not infinity.
Multiverse is not a serious theory right now IMO. However, it absolutely doesn’t imply a universe without a beginning. If anything it just kicks the chicken and egg question down the road a little further. What created the first universe in this proposed multiverse? If we’re going off the “black hole == new universe” concept that would infer a tree like structure with a common root node, or several common root nodes. There is still the question of what causes the initial formation(s). When you think about it the idea of a universe with a beginning and one without a beginning are equally terrifying and equally sensible. Our perspective in time is such a short blip there’s no reason to assume it ever began, or that it will ever end… but who knows… Only time will tell. Best to measure the universe with what’s available to us and and give our best guess
All is alive. Our mind is unable to process that. So we cut "all" into manageable bits. It is inaccurate. But doable. What you think as yourself is a thought process. It is called the fals self, the ego. It is the condition you use as a fabric to wear. All that exists is conditioning. All you see is the fabric of reality, it's cloak. The one that sees.... Yes... There is no one that sees. Only seeing. ❤😅
There are dozens of apparently 'odd' distributions in statistics, and even odder ones in number theory. I'm not sure that distance distributions for a particular type of galaxy would have a more 'physical' underpinning than any other. I'm not usually a full on sceptic, but one this one, I am.
Quantum world collapsing. I've thought this for a long time now. Something they should think about is the possibility that since another universe could be in a black hole, even though we are in a 3d state of perception we maybe observing that universe in a sort of 4th dimensional state. This in my head should help with the horizon line and why it behaves the way it does as we would be observing all states of the universe at once but also without any light escaping thanks to the density of all the matter in that universe. All of it that ever will be and was is occupying every space it ever has or will at once. Almost like the entire internal space of the black hole is in superposition to us but not to the observer inside as in order to be observed you have to collapse into the 3rd dimension thus the black hole internally observing but not externally observing seems to be the function.
It would be interesting to pair media sources/articles/papers to points on the Dunning-Kruger graph. I.e. rating which source educates the audience versus builds confidence in a theory yet with little substance.
Alternate universes as connected bubbles is really interesting. To me though, alternate universes have to occupy the same spacetime but where event outcomes differ. The universe where humanity achieves interstellar travel occupies the same spacetime as the one where we don't. Somehow event outcomes are more like a bit turning off or on. Same bit in quantum can be both states at the same time. Eventstates become unit of measurement.
Sry to hear about your family members my G... to the best of my knowledge, we are made of the universe... so yeah! you'll be reunited one day! Not too soon though... we need that beautiful brain here for awhile! 🙏🏾🕯🕯
