David Whitmer relates his account of seeing the gold plates with Martin Harris and Oliver Cowdery. This video also depicts how the three men remained true to their testimonies.
Thanks for uploading. I'm not a member of the LDS but my understanding of David Whitmer's position was that he did indeed remain true to his assertion that he witnessed the plates and the angel. However he left the church because he disagreed with the development of Joseph Smith's doctrine such as that of the plurality of gods and polygamy. Whitmer said that these doctrines were completely inconsistent with the original book of Mormon of 1830 and that he remained a believer in the doctrine of one triune God the Father Son and Holy Ghost. In short he regarded Joseph Smith as a fallen prophet.
Lovely to see this film again. Loved it when l first saw it in 1976 when l first joined the Church. Still love the message of it and how it is portrayed.
This brings back memories of Sunday School. The TV on the big stand our teacher wheeled into the room and got the VCR hooked up. Dad checking these out of the ward library to watch at home for Family Home Evening. Three incredible men who were witnesses to one of the greatest miracles of our time. The coming forth of the Book of Mormon. Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Then there were 8 more witnesses of the Golden Plates.
Bryce Chamberlain was my religion instructor at BYU in 1980 or 1979 after looking at us, his gaze was long, as if he were looking at prophecy fulfilled, these Children of Lehi in the latter days sitting in his class room, he couldn't get his words out,, all he could say to his Lamanite students were "bright eyed and bushy tailed." We all laughed because his eyes, brow, sharp square jaw were quite different from his joyful playful mood. Brother Chamberlain told us about a movie he was in, the title, and what the movie was about. The three witnesses. He bore his testimony of the divinity of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. Now after 40 years Brother Chamberlain's testimony rings true again. I love the testimony of the three witnesses & the testimony of the twelve men who saw, hefted, the gold plates. Its truth.
This film miss-represents what David Whitmer said at the end of his life. Yes he did believe in the Book of Mormon, but he also believed that Joseph was a fallen prophet, and did not believe in the Doctrine and Covenants. His complete pamphlet "An Address to All Believers in Christ by a Witness to the Divine Authenticity of the Book of Mormon" should be read by all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Great movie.......keep on making them please. I remember seeing this in seminary years ago! I’m 70 now!
I love this movie. I watch it over and over. I can always feel the spirit when I watch it. I love the Three Witnesses of the Book of Mormon

Roland Hiltscher, who played Joseph Smith passed away March 1, 2023.
Not seen this film for ages
There has never been a single doubt, this is the Lord's Holy work. I so testify. 🇬🇧
Where is the hat and seer stone?.
This is what Joseph said to Martin Harris.

Cool video. I really enjoyed it I really appreciated the testimonies of the three all the way to their dying breathes.
I believe in my Savior Jesus Christ and l know, that all good things! Comes from him.
There's a fairly new movie out titled Witnesses that covers this story in good detail. I highly recommend it.
I wish I knew who played Joseph. He's pretty legit. That hair, though.
The actor looks a helluva lot like David Whitmer.

What about the CES LETTER? (Even Point #1 is interesting.)
This film is rather comical. David Whitmer didn't really have a lot to say about Joseph Smith that was good.
