- This video details the story of President Lorenzo Snow when he traveled to St. George, Utah from Salt Lake City and ended up reminding the saints about the Law of Tithing. There was a drought at the time. President Snow promised the saints that the drought would end if they paid their tithing.
I have a strong testimony of tithing. When we were young a co-worker asked how we paid for my husband’s schooling. Without thought, I said “We couldn’t if we didn’t pay our tithing.” Too many blessings and miracles throughout the years to even try to count because of tithing.
What a wonderfully humble man of God Brother Snow was. What a comfort to have living prophets of God upon the Earth today.
Oh So humble. Had eight wives, and continuously lied about it until he was convicted in federal court. He maintained his multiple wives even after the Woodruff 1890 Proclamation banning polygamy (as did Woodruff). As big a scumbag as Young was, at least he was up front about his polygamy. As for the tithe, this puts the mormons in good company with the Scientologists in that you have to pay for the privilege of being a member of the church so you can be saved. So tell me Mormons, ever guess how your money is spent? Well keep guessing because your humble and blessed church leaders keep that secret. Oh...but your blessings will be too great to count. Yeah, and when does that start? Don't you think if there was any evidence of that BS there would be a lot more investors checking out mormonism?

I remember showing this on a hot day in 1979 at the church in Miyakonojo Japan, using a slide projector on a Saturday afternoon to show it to the church members there--mostly younger folks. I distinctly remember thinking how strange it was to be showing an old white guy with a beard in the Utah desert to a bunch of young Japanese... One of the fun memories I have of my mission.

I am grateful that there is a Church on the face of the earth, which strives to obey & to honour the words of the Lord!!! The blessings will not necessarily come in what we think we need, but in what God our Heavenly Father knows is best for us!!! Our obedience to His laws, commandments & words, regardless of how difficult it may seem, will truly bless us in the Eternal Sense!!!
The true Prophet is a servant of The Lord. We thank thee oh God for a Prophet! Who will always guide us and keep us safe if we follow him, as a Prophet knows the will of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
President McArthur is my great-great grandpa, my uncle, Dan McArthur, is the current mayor of St. George :)
I was thinking the same thing, I looked it up for my lesson this week, hoping it would be on youtube, and I'm here in Saint George, such a perfect lesson taking place where I am now!
When the Lord speaks by way of His Prophet, it is our duty to adhere unto his words that we may be blessed. That which was said then, it said now, unless the Lord by way of His Prophet informs us otherwise. A wonderful viewing.

The most corn produced in this movie was due to the writers, not Lorenzo Snow's promise of rain.

I can testify that obedience to the law of God called tithing bless His people, God has bless me and my family and the whole Church. I’m grateful to know that the true restored CHURCH of JESUS CHRIST is here on earth today . Everything’s belongs to God Our creator even our whole soul, He wanted us to be unselfish just like Him . God gave so He wants us to give . The Lord Jesus Christ invited all people to become perfect just like Heavenly Father . God bless the obedience and curse the land of the disobedience. I came to this world with nothing , I have to leave this world with nothing but my family in Heaven . All nations of the earth will be bless if they obey this law of tithing that God’s promised. Those of you who have eyes but you cannot see , ears but you cannot hear , mouth but you cannot say the truth. The Lord and His people has forgiven those who reject and persecute His Church and Kingdom here on earth. Let God judge not the mortal imperfect being.
now that the church has a $150 Billion dollar investment fund, they can loosen the tithing rules right? Right? The church can pay its bills now right? Right?
Prophets are people too. The Lord gives them power to do his will no doubt about it. That should help keep the rest of us a little more humble. We don't know everything

Snow had three living wives in 1899. Which one is depicted in this movie? Did he really only live with one of them at this time? If so, what happened to the other two?
I think that was his last wife Sarah Minnie Ephramina Jensen, with their firstborn son Le Roi Clarence Snow portrayed in this film.

The Lord will help us out in his own way and in his own due time. The same lord who was once a man like we are now, the same lord who will help us and exalt us to be like he is now the same as he and all the gods have done before us and he same as all the gods will have to do who will come after us. We are well on our way to becoming gods and will receive honor, glory, worship and adoration from our future spirit children all the gods want us to join their ranks and take our rightful place as gods over our own creation. Glory be to all the infinite gods that ever were or shall be including us who will be like the most high!

God is not a man. You thought He was like as to such as you are. Repent of idolatry. Making a false idea of God to suit yourselves, a god that you were comfortable with is not the Only True and Living God. Learn about Him from the Bible that has been translated correctly. Beware of casting His Word out as dross, lest He through you out as dross. May you repent and God forgive you and teach you the truth about Himself.

cdowis Help for what, pointing out a cult propaganda film? The actual history of this event states there was never any rain and the LDS church itself has disavowed this story.

Really? Perhaps you can teach me something about church history by giving me that link or reference. I know that there were "back in the day" many myths regarding in church history, especially when it comes to a dramatic presentation.
Church scholars are more careful today in getting to verified details, especially in the recent Joseph Smith Papers Project.
