    Good job! Looks great, but please wear a mask next time you work with concrete dust and the dust from that sand. The fine powder will stick to your lungs.

    Amazing walkway. Years ago, my late husband and I used the use cement form, to make all our sidewalks, on our half acre property.
    We use the same form for our courtyard to.
    Our neighbors were so surprised to see the finished landscaping as well. Yep, I mixed the cement in our own mixed, did grouting on a hundred and twenty foot block wall. Also, I was the one to form up projects, set up and removal all the wood forms.
    When all is said and done, it’s wonderful to see your hard work completed. At that time, our teenage son learned about landscaping, cementing, patios and walkways. Nice to involve your family.
    Our future is continuity teaching our children and grandchildren. Today my sons home and yard is well maintained.

    Wear N95 masks when working around Cement, Sand and any power saws when wood working to keep from inhaling all those particles into your lungs because that stuff will Forever stay on your lungs. I would have left the would frame support on your steps, but stained them for posterity. Otherwise, I thought it turned out beautiful. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos.

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet
      @WhitehouseFarmVet  2 роки тому +8

      Yes anyone can do this, my wife and I did sections over a couple days just because we had other stuff going on and that's the great thing about this you can pick up were you left off! I would say if we had a full day without interruptions you could knock it out and we had roughly 40 bags at 5 bucks a piece, and if you wanted coloring its 7 bucks a bottle for every 2 80lb bags so $340.00 plus 70 for the 2 frames, and 50 for the crack filler bags so roughly 460.00 for everything, it's really simple to lay you literally make the cement, pour it in the frame and then remove the frame and keep pouring!
      Thank you for watching!and good luck!👍😊

    Great Video! how did you build the wood mold for the stairs?

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet
      @WhitehouseFarmVet  5 місяців тому +2

      Thank you, we used the rebar with the holes to put screws through in the wood for support and kept it 2ft wide by 3 feet long, we did if I can remember 6 inch step leveled out the first 3x2 pad then dug and made another etc until we touched ground we leveled as we went ,it was a process but really not hard at all, because the steps were thicker we added wire in the concrete for support, basically we pictured how we wanted it in our heads and went with it and I think it came out great for novices lol, thanks for watching!😊

      The tabs are there to level the form with the previous pour. They should not be used 2 at a time if you want a consistent and seamless gap.

    How are people supposed to use a walkway with up to six inch gap? Do you realize that someone in high heels could be seriously hurt if the heel catches in one of those gaps? Do you realize that anyone in any type of shoe who hits that gap on the corner of their heel is going to be hurt? Footpaths have to be flat and even because people need stability. It may look cool, but that path is really dangerous.

      I had the same concerns! but If you watch the whole video the answer is to fill the gaps with the cement dust concrete!

      If your shoes kill you on this walkway, you should have bought actual shoes. So ridiculous.
