I never realized how easy this could be until I saw the walkway and patio my 90 year old father put in his back yard, by himself. I borrowed his molds and going to put in a sidewalk in my yard.
@@stephendall2329 ouch. Sorry to hear that. I hear you, at least with my age, I'm not 20 anymore so things take a little longer like that to get done, to say the least
I did this several years ago along the back of my house, in some places deep, The only difference is I used concrete, and after removing the form troweled the top edges again, and when set up pretty good, misted with water. This gave a nice smooth surface without the rough edges. I had friends who had used them that ask how is the world I got mine to look so good, well that's how!

This is for better removal of the mold and is self-constructed. A plywood board to which plywood pieces matching the casting mold cutouts are glued. By placing the casting mold, the casting mold can be easily detached from the concrete and can be removed earlier.
Cut your time in half and get a Harbor Frieght 3' 1/2" cubic ft. mixer for under $200. Cuts mixing time in half. Plus pour mixed cement from mixer into a 2 gal bucket... then pour all of bucket (once you've measured and marked on the bucket exactly how much fills a mold) into the mold all in one pour then pack the mold. That streamlines the pouring and totally speeds up the process. His end result is great. But the same result can be done light-years faster on a tarp on the driveway spread about 3 inches apart. Doing them together like that next to each other allows for splashing on the neighboring cast slowing the entire process down. Plus, on the driveway creates a totally flat bottom. HF sells a chisel set for quick cleaning of edges after curing. Even if you choose to cast directly on the ground verses your driveway on a tarp... the mixer is still a game changer. 😊

Looks beautiful! I love how smooth the finish is. Can you explain what type of cement, sand, and aggregate you used and in what ratio? Did you use any other additives to the concrete? NICE JOB!

Great idea! If you make them on the driveway, will they be in pieces that you have to assemble like a puzzle?

At the end you used a White? Board cut to the shape of the mold? Or did it come with the mold itself? Thanks for the video and hopefully response.

Nice idea and video. What type of climate do you live in? I’m Canadian and wonder if it can handle my climate.
What was the white piece used for at the end ? Is it so the cement don’t fall on top of the other bits
Why are people complaining about him being slow? if you want a job well done it takes time.
Especially for us DIYers. If you’re doing it for a living you need to get fast, but take your time for your own house.

Thin out your mix just a tad and then use a 2x4 to trowel across the top if you wanna make the job go a lil faster.
