I retired from the military in 2006 and retired from law enforcement in 2018 and for the last 5 years I have been trying to find an excuse to move back to Gillette. Your wintertime videos bring back memories and make me question my desire to move back. Have you given any consideration to starting a Bison herd? Just a question, I watch Cross Timbers Bison and you definitely have the room for to do it, I just don't know about the logistics.
@@louispaparella5766 The average weight difference between cows and bison is minimal. Although bison are not considered a domesticated animal, even when on farms, their demeanor is just slightly more aggressive than cows when raised on farms. As a regular viewer of the UA-cam channel "Cross Timbers Bison" and being from the exact same city as Mike lives in, I can assure you that there are already Bison farms in Gillette that use regular fencing for their Bison as does CTB for his herds.
@@danielsexton9311 Hadn't been on the CTB site before, so just looked. All corrals and outer containment fencing is very robust and looks to be 6' tall. Cross fencing is 4' but very strong. Have you ever seen a bison jump? They easily clear 4'! The industry standard is 48" for cattle and 60" for bison. Electrification is suggested on the 3 lowest strands. But I'm just a city kid...
@@louispaparella5766 I have seen Bison jump fences. In fact, CTB has one that jumps fences all the time. The robust fencing you are referring to is in the area that they work the bison. The reason it has to be so robust in that area is because bison don't like to be caged and tend to be much more aggressive when in confined areas. Even Mikes cows don't like to be confined and tend to break down fences when they are confined. I am not sure what you consider very strong. But if you consider "T" posts and barbed wire very strong, then it is very strong and is also what is used for cattle.
Hoping yous got to refresh for the next journey. Here for the ride. Get ready get set gooooooooooooo ! As always great videos, great music, educational and excitement ! Thank you Our Wyoming Life !
It has been a pleasure to follow you and see how much you grow! I could not believe how tall and pretty Mckenzie has gotten.I really enjoyed this video and I hope Jeff gets back soon!❤❤👍🐄
Hey Mike! Welcome back! Another great video! It will be so good for the ranch to have a weigh scale on the A- Team's side of the road! It will put less stress on the cows and on Mike! Until your next video~~~ Stay safe, healthy, warm and happy! 🐃🐄🐃
Why didn't you try breading all your open heafers to calf off cycle? This would support year round processing as you would have cows coming to the B team at different time intervals but at the same mostly consistent age.
Thank you for all the great information you give . Hope you had a good break from all the work doing these videos. Boy I would sure love too try your products. I am putting it on my too buy list!
Just a idea, if you have A and B team of the steers and if you pood your open heifers in to that program to should you not have a A and B team for the heifers to because the gen wait a little different then the steers ?
Another problem is when i went to order and since having so much trouble trying to order I could not just delete my order. You have some glitches that needs to be fixed.
How far do you ship I’d love to buy meat we used to buy but the farmer retired and we never found another there’s no antibiotics right please let me know thank you
Hi Mike, Erin, and family.....Welcome back!!!! With all the extreme weather occurring throughout the country, I've been thinking about Jeff and his family. How are they doing????
Another thing that I like watching is because a real family is getting the rewards of all your hard work. It's about time the people doing the work get paid to do it.
Good to see you all back on UA-cam Mike. It has been too quiet with no videos from your channel. Looking forward to some more and to seeing new babies being born! Thank you x
I was watching another ranching channel and the rancher was discussing getting a pay cut from the buyers at the auction. The man went on saying it is necessary for most small ranchers to ‘ start selling direct’ someway or another.’ Just like ‘The Ranch’ is doing.
@@OurWyomingLife Mike, I should be thanking you. This year will be my fourth 30 in 30 calving series. I don’t miss any episodes you make. I work as a tax analyst and would give it up in a heartbeat to run a cattle ranch. I want to take my chic on vacation to your ranch roundup hopefully soon.
I also could not find how much you charge for shipping as my order was 69+ dollars but it said at the bottom total was 108+ dollars. Please help me understand all my questions. This lady lives on a Social Security check only as a retiree.
Hi Mike happy new year first of all .. any other breed at your place except Angus and Hereford ? Any breed growing faster for butchers ? Interest to make IA or AI to get better Angus ? Are they some limousine cows nearby in the us ? Regards from France 🇫🇷

I'm so glad to see your back thank you for all you do I love watching this show small concern though Mike your breathing awful heavy is everything okay I have breathing problems myself that's why I noticed
if you hadn't already organized the cattle, I'd have switched up the heifer for the one low weight steer. But I'm sure the feed mixture would change the processed quality of the meat.
I’m so glad you are up and filming again. I missed the ranch life. I saw the baby goat video, but I haven’t heard a thing about Ethel’s foal. How’s Ethel and the future foal coming along???
