I just spent the morning in my wood pile. What i'm doing now is next years wood. We burn for around 6 months also and go through 5 cords a season. All our wood that we are going to burn this season is stacked in the basement and has been there scenes May. When I put it in the basement I run a air exchanger all summer and does a nice job of getting the wood nice and dry. Later buddy and all the best.
Big trick is finding someone to service. Cut wood for many years. Yellows, greens. Orange and white, red and orange. Absolutely right. Bar length is key for not bending over. However it comes with risks of kickbacks. Weight and issue. One of the. First saw was a Lombard. Weighed 22+lbs. Got home played down. Couldn't getup for hours. But nothing worse nor dangerous than trying to fell a big tree or cut a big log with an undersized saw. Right saw for the job. Right bar and chain. And if you can't sharpen your own chain. Put it away. And big one. If your tired. Stop. The last cut could be your last. Bar square down the middle of my face. Across my leg. Butt end of a tree on the back. Of my head.. First three. Months in.the woods, over 40 years ago. Looks like your doing fine. And you know how to maintain your equipment. That says a lot in itself. Respect and knowledge of equipment. Like a chef. Dull or inadequate knives more apt to cut yourself. Great video.
Nice man, I usually do mine throughout the winter but this year I thought I'd put everything up in the summer so I would have more time to hunt. Kinda miss the exercise when we are all cooped up in the house now.
Great job man. I miss cutting a splitting wood. I still do some just to have, split it all by hand. Just good physical labor/a way to take some stress away and focus on the task at hand and forget about everything else that is going on. Keep up the great work.
Love your content dude! Good little overhang will do the trick! I cut with a johnsred 2255 decided to try it out had it for 3-4 years and it runs like a horse man I love it!
I know you've probably already been asked a thousand times...but did you get your building put up. I think I only seen the video of you pouring the cement. Woods a lot of work..but a lot of warm too. Good video
Try putting a old tire preferably on the wide side on top of your splitting block. Will save you a lot of moves. Your piece or pieces stay on the block less bending over to pick up pieces.LIKE YOU KNOW THE LESS TIMES WE HANDLE IT THE BETTER. What fo you estimate average times handled including hauling out the ashes???🤣😅6 to 8 minimum people that don’t know work are truly worthless to me.Any trapper you meet you know right off they are not lazy!!! Some of our work isn’t work to us just axway of life. A good one at that. I have been a masln full time for over 30 years trap ,fish ,hunt ,forage ,garden ,live off the land as much as possible! You keep up the the great work you do! We are cut from the same cloth my fellow true hard working honest man!! Be safe 👍👍👍👍💪💪💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸✌️here is what I think of lazy do nothing liberals that are trying to ruin are way of life😤😤😤😤 WORK HARD PLAY HARDER. Man you got top notch saws bud both sthil and huskies are great saws . I still enjoy cutting wood been doing it most my life parents heat with wood i sell fire wood. What do you do for work?
Hey dude awesome videos. I assume you sharpen your own chainsaw blades. What are the chances you have some footage sitting around with advice and techniques?
YT unsubscribed me!! You might want to open a channel on Odysee. There no censorship there and there's already some good content like CandRsenal, InRangeTV, BlokeOnTheRange, GBGuns, and lots of other interest like Epoch Times and Timcast (news), John Stossel (commentary), and some good history series like World War Two. Even if you just open it as a backup, at least you have a hedge against YT censorship.
Young and stupid is a perfect description. No Kevlar pants, climbing on unstable logs. When the surgeon says she can close it up but it won't be pretty it's because the chain teeth remove the whole groove and blow it out. Why do I know? I was young and stupid too.
