Nolan: "i know who could do that"
Cillian: 😊
Exactly. He gets very moved, but as the great actor he is, he's quick at disguising it. It almost gets me emotional too.
Barely contained. I felt that like friends speak of their father praising them. Beautiful
Plus he owed him after having him 'injure' a boy in Dunkirk. 20 mins or so of screen time and he was just a shellshocked lad who injures a boy
That comment gave me goosebumps, Cillian just smiles but it’s like he’s saying OMG 😂
@@McVaerk😂😂
Cillian Murphy deserves more leading roles
He’ll for sure be offered more roles now but he’s pretty stern on being selective
He has some great leading role films
@@velse9869His next movie is Peaky Blinders, but yeah, for sure he's going to be on more leading roles.
@@luisdaas3972Thats a show though.
He's had leading roles before, but this will is the top of the cake. Second is 28 days later
Cillian isnt one to be easily flattered by complimentd but you can tell he appreciated that one from Christopher Nolan
He's Irish, he can't take praise😊(his own words)
Anyone would be pleased, Nolan is one of the greatest directors of our time
It's not that he's not easily flattered it's that he's Irish and finds it very uncomfortable to receive compliments. It's a very common thing in countries like Ireland and the UK.
If Chris Nolan himself compliments you, it’s like it’s coming out of gods mouth (for actors at least 😂)
Murphy was always really good but after watching the Peaky Blinders series, he is an all time great. He needs to be casted in every big role.
@alcottdevalte7440 My thoughts exactly 👌 By name of the 'Peaky Fuckin Blinders!' 🤘
You want him to be the new iron man? Or the new bond ?
@@TurtleMC1993 I want to see him in lead roles only from now on. And for my own reasons; I want him to play Edward Henry Greb in a bipoic. Greb is amongst the greatest fighters of all time, if not the very best...
@alcottdevalte7440 do you mean harry greb?
@@TurtleMC1993 Yes; The Pittsburgh Windmill who beat around 20 champions and 20 hall of famers, and lived the life of 100 people and 100 careers in one even though it was short but fascinating and quite poetic where he was both the hero and the villain.
Matt Damon sitting there thinking "Hey idiot, I have blue eyes too!"
Not gaunt and haunted enough.
Big square head on Damon though 😂
😂😂😂😂 really
No, his portrayal of Groves and casting was perfect by Nolan too. He really nailed this cast and more importantly this movie.
He played the Colonel/General well in the movie
Great call. There's none better.
1k likes no comments? Let me fix that
Agreed the casting worked out great I’d say, Cillian Murphy crushed the role
It’s insane just how much he looks like the real Oppenheimer
Literally how…… are you kidding ?
@@Oceans_away the insane cheekbones, that’s rare to find in someone
yeah, he lost weight to the point it looks so identical to oppenheimer.
@@fleetwoodcraic4235the stares too, and stoic mannerism
@@setsuna7618he has always had those cheekbones mate
Way back at ‘28 Days Later’ you could tell he was special.
What a praise, coming from Nolan.
The Wind that Shakes the Barley is an incredible film as well, has me in tears every time I watch it. And a large reason for that is Murphy's acting.
@@HolyMith Thanks, I’ll check it out.
@@HolyMithman that ending has stuck with me for a while..
You guys should also check out his other excellent performances is films like *The Party (2017),* *Sunshine (2007),* *Red Eye (2005)* and *Disco Pigs (2001).*
Interesting facts:
1] *Red Eye* is his first American film and it was directed by none other than Wes Craven ('nuff said)
2] *The Party* won Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival
3] He played the role of a nuclear physicist in *Sunshine* just like he did in Oppenheimer.
4] You're welcome :)
@@princesmith8008 Thanks as well!
I saw Sunshine and thought it was very creative and artistic. Some friends were busy attacking its science, but I thought the movie’s hybrid style was an interesting take on the duality of people/science for survival and destruction.
Good day.
Hell yeah, it's about time!
I hope Cillian wins the Best Actor Oscar, the man deserves it.
Totally agreed. But we'll have to see leo in the killers of the flower moon. And jaoquin in Napoleon.
@@Nitish_NK13 Flower Moon is my most anticipated movie but I highly doubt Leo's performance will come anywhere close to what Cillian did in Oppenheimer. Cillian is just a superior actor than Leo in my opinion even though the latter has much more fame.
*Cillian vs Joaquin* is the real showdown for the Best Actor Oscar.
However with all the marketing campaign and overall push going on currently, I think it's safe to say that Cillian has it on lockdown.
Well you were right 😊 he won
@@Piyushattr1 Really happy for him, it's been long overdue.
Work hard in silence and let your success make the noise. Cilian personifies this quote so well.
bruh , Cillian can stare anyone and can intimidate the fiercest animal alive
Danial Day Lewis enters the channel
@@myflatlineconstruct😂
Cillian Murphy is such a great Actor. He is so humble and shy. Cillian was a perfect choice for Oppenheimer. It's about time that Nolan gave Cillian a leading role. Cillian is such a beautiful and talented man.
Beautiful man indeed!! ❤❤❤
Seriously. Been a fan of cillian since 28 days later, had no doubt in my mind he would absolutely murder this role
Beautiful indeeed >_
Love how Tommy Shelby decided to leave his demons behind and become an actor. Such an efficient way of channeling his real world experiences of the Birmingham streets to cinema.
I love this 😂😂😂😂😂
It’s myself talking to myself about myself
Well deserved. Cillian is such an underrated actor
Cillian should always be the leading man. Besides his Extremely captivating presence, when he acts he leaves you speechless.
Well done Cillian. An amazing performance. You did Ireland proud 🇮🇪 🇮🇪👏👏
Been saying forever that Cillian is massively underrated. Seriously one of the great talents of our time.
That look on Cillian's face 😊 amazing
Cillian's performance is extraordinary.
Such fabulous acting and sensitivity
When the interviewer said he’s such a paradoxical man, such a conundrum. For a second I genuinely didn’t know if she was referring to Cillian Murphy or Oppenheimer. Showing Murphy is perfect for the part.
No other actor in all the world could play this part as well as Cillian Murphy.☘️
I’m happy for Cillian!
Cillian knocked it out of the park too. Amazing performance. Amazing team. Amazing film!
And he carried us all with him. What a film, the kind of film that restores your faith in Hollywood
Totally agree.
Really I haven't seen it but alot of heads told me it was medicore?? Is it that good?
@@GlynnermangMediocre??? They were on crack 😂
Watch it and decide for yourself, it blew me away in the cinema
@owenbitowski7572 ya that's what I thought after seeing all the reviews! Will do chief 👍
He's a fantastic actor, real presence. Great choice.
He smashed it. Such a good film and such a great cast.
Nolan: I know who could do that
Cillian: 🔵👄🔵
Thank God Cillian was interested in the discussion thia time & didnt zone himself out like everytime.😂
Claro, el que hablaba era Nolan, Cillian esta que no se lo cree.
Love Cillians reaction
Oppenheimer is great. Saw it yesterday. Magnificent.
Saw Oppenheimer yesterday in IMAX. Biggest cinematic experience since I watched The Matrix in the 90s. This film deserves all the Oscars, all of them. But especially cast, director and score. Because holy shit!
And his performance is outstanding. At no point in the movie did I think I wasn't looking at J. Robert Oppenheimer actually living this incredible life.
Cillian Murphy is the only actor I’ve found that can portray a role in such a way you feel that it isn’t Cillian Murphy playing the role, but the character is just playing themselves. Amazingly talented.
I already knew when i saw him as the Scarecrow in Batman that he would be a house hold name with time
And what a performance he delivered! If he doesn't win the best actor Oscar I'll riot
am rooting for Cillian ❤
I thought it said "if he doesn't then I will" 💀
That openheimer look is not an easy thing to do
Cillian Murphy has always been a welcome sight for me in movies, but this film gave him a power and depth to his body of work that will ensure he'll never be overlooked by anyone ever again. He deserves to rank alongside the likes of Gary Oldman and Daniel Day-Lewis for being one of the best actors in the modern era of cinema.
"I don't keep in mind any actors while writing the script".
An example of a visionary director.💯
Carry the audience through the movie he did brilliantly
He looks like he really appreciated what Nolan had to say
Cillian has pure class, no show off.. love his Omega railmaster from previous generation, he wears this all the time.. I really admires this guy.. 🙏🏽
True
Man if we're about to get a string of leading cillian Murphy roles im going to shit happiness
He’s also great in red eye. He can play a villain well.
Darkness comes easy to him, imo
He really struck gold with that choice. His performance was top notch in this movie, I loved every scene he was in.
Awesome movie, finally happened, Cillian deserved the leading role on a Nolan movie,
Indeed a unique experience just watching it. I think people who watch this film will genuinely enjoy it as much as I did when seeing it-10/10 outstanding performances by everyone involved in the making of this film. I can't wait for people to see it! Good interview, by the way.
The interview scene with Emily Blunt was my favourite performance from the whole film.
I saw Cillian in a one -man-play in London some years back. We had seats way in the back, but he still reached the whole audience. He's amazing.
Cillian Murphy was/is the perfect choice. I have always loved his acting. Thought he was great in most everything I've seen him in. So thrilled he got this leading role.
Christopher Nolan = Our Cinematic Lord and Savior
Cillian Murphy looks so genuinely uncomfortable with everyone complementing him in every interview 😂
I just love that he trusted in Cillian to do this movie...I reckon other directors would have went with a more 'typical' leading man...just shows how incredibly astute Chris is when it comes to casting his movies
Cillian and RDJ both deserve Oscars for this movie.. It's superb. Lokking forward to going again when I have time.
And he did that very well
Cillian for Oscar!
Yeah, we know that blue eyed stare and we love it
I don’t love the movie but Cillian getting to be the lead feels symbolically like everyone finally accepting how truly incredible he is. Absolutely deserves the Oscar he’s certainly gonna be nominated for
Cillian was brilliant in this and is an amazing actor. All the actors were incredible.
If u have director with strong vision in mind, actors always bound to give their best in them.thats why Cillian gave an Oscar worthy performance
He was basically giving "blue eye stare" all the time in peaky blinders
If this doesn’t get him an oscar I don’t know what will
I get the feeling that Nolan has always wanted to get Cillian into a leading role in one of his movies but just hasn’t found one yet.
Cillian is a legend
Awe. He was genuinely pleased and flattered by that
Cillian almost cried the hardest he’s ever cried
“From the COVID of the book “ Lol
We need Cillian back as scarecrow in rob Pattersons the batman movies
Nolan has always admired Cillian's eyes. Even in Batman Begins, he would ask him to take his glasses off in close ups
He's getting an oscar
Cillian is phenomenal, people saw his acting know that.
But he was still underrated. Oppenheimer will now make him globally recognized.... something which he deserves
I wish there was a recording of the moment Nolan told Murphy that he got this part. I'd love to have seen his reaction.
Was an incredible movie.
“He’s such a paradoxical man”
It’s paradoxical but it works.
Love how all of them listen so attentively to Mr. Nolan speaking
Imagine being described as a Conundrum
She was talking about Oppenheimer
Perfect cast. Couldn't think of anyone else for the role
Exploring the background of a movie somehow helps me dealing with the vast emotional impact it left on me. It was absolutelly horrifyingly stunning
I’m glad Cillian got this role. He did a fantastic job as Scarecrow in Batman Begins even though he had a fairly minor role, even amongst the 2 other villains (Ras Al Ghul and Carmine Falcone). He did a fantastic job as Oppenheimer and I hope he gets more opportunities to lead roles in the future
Cillian did full justice playing Oppenheimer n all Thanks to this Genius Director.
Everything Nolan touches turns to gold
I love the nod that Matt Damon gives to ciliary as if we ALL knew he was a leading man material . Luv it
He wasn't hired, he was drafted.
What a great decision and what a great actor Cillian is..BRILLIANT ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
Cillian is second to none he was just never given the chance. He steals the scenes that's how good he is. Peaky Blinders will forever be Cillian's show and I can not wait for the film. I know he's Irish bit for me he should be the next Bond.
Cillian deserves it man. He did all those supporting roles since decades being patient. Patience was the key
I remember him as Scarecrow - it ended up being a fairly small role, but it felt like Cillian was just getting started. Several other actors have done that - made an impressive start, just to fade away, but certainly wasn't the case here!
So good to listen to a renowned & respected director talking abt choosing an actor to be the leading man in his great movie - really a gift to Cillian Murphy
Great choice. Great actor!
Cillian is so great at his craft, after Peaky Blinders I became a fan and then started watching all his other movies and saw that raw talent, so natural he is and dives into all the characters he portrays giving us different sides of himself, he has quickly become one of my favorite actors! BRAVO on the win Cills now he will truly get lead roles from now on ♥️
Cillian is a beast and Nolan knows it. Just a lot of the time the supporting role is more interesting and needs a talented character actor. But it’s nice to see Nolan give him the lead. Can’t wait to see the movie. Hearing only positive things
Cillian Murphy looks sooo much like the real Oppeheimer...And he happened to be such a good actor. Both were lucky to find eachother.
And he fucking knocked it out of the park🙏
His humbleness and demeanor when Mr. Nolan spoke of who could do that.
Dude made Cillian the star and all the Hollywood lead actors and actresses side characters
Nolan : From the cover of the book
Subtitle : From the covid of the book
Cillian really said 😊
Cillian Murphy's role...Fantastic casting and characterisation.
Ive heard he loves his eyes
I mean who does'nt?
Cillian is one of the very best of his generation. Not sure why it took until Peaky Blinders for the world to embrace him, but I'm glad that the world has embraced him. I've been a fan since 28 days later and have seen almost every film he's been in. Have yet to see a bad performance from this man and this may well be his magnum opus.
His eyes are so entrancing.
Cillian Murphy is an insanely talented actor.
