Great video again. There is so much to see in the universe but if you don’t know where to look you might get lost, so these video’s help a lot. Also nice was the image of the ring nebula which shows how it looks in the eyepiece. Sometimes you don’t know what to look for and what to expect so I always like it when I see a realistic eyepiece view. It makes spotting the object easier.
The English one writes: "The Ring Nebula (also catalogued as Messier 57, M57 and NGC 6720) is a planetary nebula in the northern constellation of Lyra.[4][C] Such a nebula is formed when a star, during the last stages of its evolution before becoming a white dwarf, expels a vast luminous envelope of ionized gas into the surrounding interstellar space. "
I get so excited every time I see a new video from you! Thanks for the other videos about finding objects; with those tips these will be quick finds this weekend. I was excited to find the Ring Nebula the other day, now I'm excited to go back to find Albierto and M56! Thanks for the exceptional videos!
Hey Jason I'm going to take a look at M56 when the nights get dark enough as it's twilight all night here in Scotland. M57 is nice to look at through a large telescope. I love scanning the milky way with binoculars and it's great seeing north America in the night sky. I love your channel because it brings back the great memories when I first got into Astronomy in 1988. I learn new things too. So many things to see in the night sky and photographing what you see is wonderful. Take care friend and clear skies!
Hey Bushcraft hope your well my friend... Same for me. it's one of the main reasons I love doing this channel... There is a lot of nostalgia involved. Stay safe clear skies my friend :)
Your right about dark skies. M56 is very faint in a 4 inch refractor. I had to use my setting circles to find it. Used setting circles to find Albireo.
I have a 60mm refracting telescope right now with a 700mm focal length tube and aiming my telescope in this area is a pain in the neck, very literally. I am getting a dobsonian 130mm reflector in like 2-3 days, hope to see an improvement to that!
I've tried to find M56 from my backyard over the years (as recently as a couple of nights ago), without any success. I know I'm looking at the right location, but I think that it's beyond these Bortle 7+ skys. No trouble with the Ring Nebula though. Albireo is definitely one of my favorite double stars.
Fantastic Upload Jason. M56 Has Been A target Like Most Globular Clusters I have Always Been Trying to Hunt. Its hard to see From my Bottle 7 skies! But at least I can Albireo!! :)
Hello Avanteesh . Thank you my friend. Admittedly it can be a bit of a challenge in lighter skies it will be better later in the year after the solstice when the nights get a little darker. Clear skies my friend :)
Thank you, Jason! At my latitude "31°12'19"N) Vega & Lyra are high overhead at this season. BTW, here's an idea for a video for you. I don't have a "Go-To" scope & many others are in a similar situation. When starting out it seems most buy less expensive scopes that typically don't have that. So trying to find objects can be very difficult (you may say "quite difficult"). Yet I've heard we may estimate where the right ascension & declination are in the sky. I for one would really like to know how to do that. I think it would very (quite) useful to be able to estimate the right ascension & declination. So that's why I think it would make a good video for your channel. Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!
Hello Jon, that's a great idea. I have been wanting to do a video on R/A and Dec, or more to the point "Setting circles" and how to use them but the problem is the setting circles on my mount are damaged and unusable so I've had to put that one on hold for the time being. I will be doing more on this subject in the future though. Thanks for your suggestion buddy, all the best :)
M57 is my favorite object on the sky. The first time I managed to find it on my telescope I felt like something was wrong, like this kind of strange, dim but well defined, object doesn't belong to the night sky.

Your channel is really helping this beginner a lot. Please keep them coming, and thanks for posting.

Thank you for making these videos Jason! I was able to find the Ring Nebula and 2 new (to me) clusters. Love your videos!
Fantastic! Great to hear my friend and your more than welcome 😊

Another brilliant video, Thanks Jason.

Thank you Graham great to hear.

Mulțumim!
Again, great video! Wonderful information! A little mispeak, M57 is a white dwarf, not a neutron star. All great advice.

Yea, all I saw was a weird greyish smug, that disappeared everytime I moved from it or slew out of view of it.
Come out of Manchester and head south, should see lots of signposts for it. Don't think any treats are near it.
Road Chef will provide treats, but it's probably cheaper buying a telescope.
Thanks!
Thank you so much my friend very much appreciated.
I learn summat on every video dude 👍🏼
Great to hear my friend.. All the best :)
M56 is tricky and the smallest optics I have had it in is my Opticron 8x25 monocular but it's just a fuzzy star.
good video i am watching stuff with my telescope right now XD need to wait for saturn to be up a bit higher so i took a little break
Thank you.
More than welcome :)
When looking at M57 (or searching for) check out Beta Lyra which is an easy double star.
Clear skys guys n gals.
And you my friend :)
I still can't see M57 through a scope Jason, despite trying multiple times, but I have imaged it.
7:24 doggy :)
Hi jason can you help me? Every time I tilt my eq2 mount, it keeps tilting down. Can't lock it in place :( I really hope I did not break it:((
