May I ask, when you take your seedlings out of the pots, do you leave the growing medium still around the roots with an extra new medium into new pots, or is it best to carefully remove old and replace with new around the roots please. 🤔 Looking forward to your kind advice. Thank you again from Peter uk
Love the detail of this video! I grew Nepenthes 15 years ago and just started to get back into it. I need to refresh my knowledge and so happy I found your channel. I love listening to your voice!
In school I didn't really understand, why did I have to learn english (im from russia), but now I know, that I needed that to be able to watch such amazing, interesting and beautiful videos. Thank you for your content!
Great!! I just repot mine 2 days ago. The root system was not overgrown and it tooks ok the repoting, but now I know I can wait a bit longer. Good video!!
Most helpful video for those who have a lot of seedings or just can't find/afford expensive nepenthes and decide to grow nepenthes from seeds. Ps. Lol I'm still looking for Eddy seeds/seedlings.
Man, can't wait for spring lol. There's a heater right under my windowsill, it's sulking all the humidity out of my grow space. My Rebecca Soper hasn't pitchered since November 😭 humidity there is like, 25%. Surprised my Ventrata is making two pitchers at the same time. Great video, I don't intend to grow from seeds until much later on, maybe 2 years, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless :)
After having zero luck with seeds, I finally was able to germinate some lowland hybrids I got from a seller and these guys exploded, they were re-potting size after 6 months and now (9 months in) are out growing the small individual pots I put them in.

Good question 😊 Yes I leave the substrate as it is since I've changed it not even a year ago.
@@WindowsillNepenthes Thank you 😊
Everyone's talking about how informative this video is but all I can think about is how cute those baby pitchers are LIKE PLEASE THEY ARE ADORABLE 😭😭😭

Same for me, if I was speaking French, less people would understand and watch 😉
Such a beautiful collection Remi!

Really informative video Remy; thanks for sharing your knowledge! Hoping my seedlings make it that far….
Some of those are looking really nice!
We will really see the shapes/colors in a year. :)

Good luck with the Eddy. That's hard to get and SO slow...
Very cool to see your progress with the plants over time and just see this channel grow :)
Thanks!
Great video! Interesting to see the roots all clumped up like that. 🤔
It does! We are always looking at the leaves thinking "Why is it that slow?" but in fact, most of the growth happens underground :)
@@WindowsillNepenthes like little planty icebergs!
I love your videos, they are very beautiful, I follow you from Italy ❤
Thanks :)

For me it's the same, pretty dry lately... some plants stoped pitchering too.
@@WindowsillNepenthes spring is only a leap away! Our plants will begin to grow happily once more 😂

Sounds like a good problem to have ;)
Maybe you can do a contest for some of them!
Keep in mind that I can't send them outside Canada... A little bit unfair for all the viewers.
I'll do that later with seeds.
@@WindowsillNepenthes bummer for us American viewers
The moss grew naturally out of the sphagnum and perlite mix? Beautiful tables my friend 👍
I've put the live sphagnum on the top of the pots, then I keep it alive by spraying it. It didn't grow naturally. ;)
What is your soil mix for seedlings?
Sphagnum moss and perlite. But the top is mainly shredded sphagnum moss
@@WindowsillNepenthes do you use that for adult nepenthes to?
@@Cacti_Of_Mexico for adults it's still the same yes, but no need to shred the sphagnum.
Why do nepenthes have black roots?
Good question but beyond my knowledge. We will need a botanist to answer that.
