What temperature do you recommend them at? ICPS says 80-09 deg F (25-30C). Currently I am able to keep 70 degree nights and 90 degree day temps. intermediate seeds. Will that be okay? Thanks again, videos are great
I'd really like to see a video that shows how you harden off newly sprouted Nepenthes from seeds. Do you wait some time before removing them from the higher humidity under the dome?
You're ahead! I'll show that soon! In fact I have 3 plants from this very seeds that are already big enough to be put on a windowsill but first I don't have the space right now... First, I have a tray that was requisitioned by my wife to grow vegetables while waiting for spring. Second, since it's still a little cold at night on my windowsill, I'll to wait for it to warm up a bit to limit the shock on the small nepenthes. ;)
Love the Gremlins clip! I'm pretty sure my roommates wouldn't love me using the blender for LFS lol. Also a light tutorial would be great. Found it very confusing to shop for and learn PAR, etc.
My seeds don’t have the brown spines attached; hope they are nepenthes! Great video and I will put them under the grow light along with the drosera I planted yesterday.
I can't name them as I would need their agreement first. But all are private Facebook groups. A quick research and you should find at least 2 of them. ;)
What humidity and tem would you reccomend to keep seeds at? I have put some as you showed in a small humidity dome but should I open the holes and if so, how many? How often should I spray the seeds ideally?
@@WindowsillNepenthes mine has cross ventilation holes at the sides as well, should I open those too? What % humidity? My hygrometer shows 99% at the moment
Hai bro i just sow some N echinostoma seeds with in first week some seed start to show some white powdery mould ( fungus,) in part of seeds embryo what can do to control them just 8 passed after seeds are sow
Just like in nature, I do not disinfect them. But I heard that with a little bit of bleach and a lot of water it works. tissue culture facebook groups may be able to help you.
No video yet about that but I will ;) Fertilizing is important if the plant don't have access to insects (indoor). And it speed up the growth for sure.
It will depend of the freshness of the seeds. Fresh one take 1 month. But I got some fresh ones that weren't good and never germinated. Keep hope and wait 5 months before doing anything. ;)
To clean the surface mold and before the seeds germinate or when the seedlings are bigger like 4 leaves, I use it pure and spray (it's hydrogen peroxide 3%).
Shame on you for triggering me to put in an Etsy buy for Amp Black!!! :😁 Might happen, I've got Drosophyllum lusitanicum coming up daily ...two wks germ. , and who knows what will happen trying to transplant and I screwed up with a drosera seed zipped up in a bag on wet long moss that look blue so prob rotted, so stupid actions are always a potential for exotic plants and animals at any time or experience so call "Level"

Your temp looks good 👍
Go for 12h to 14h of light a day. ;)
@@WindowsillNepenthes 🙏 thank you very much!
I filmed this video 6 weeks ago and I can already tell you that there are 4 seeds that have germinated.
So expect a sequel to this video!
Useful info! Thanks 😁
Waiting on my seeds to come today!!
Cool! Where did you get them? What species/cross are they?
Excellent many thanks will give it a go
Loved the sphagnum moss monster - scissors are good!
in wich store did you buy those pods? just amazing hope u answer bro thanks
It's a Facebook group. I'll ask them if I can name him.

I never researched on this topic as I use natural sun light, but maybe later I'll get a grow light and make a video. ;)

Without this 2 spines on each side, that's not nepenthes sorry 😐
Hope you teached me well.. I'm getting my first seeds, from Carnivero (just received notification they were send)
I did my best 😊
Anything germinate yet
@@chuckdean4887 I don't know if you asked me, but nothing yet.
great video, can you please tell which supplier you got the seeds from? thanks

I spray once a week and all the holes are open. You want it humid but with decent air flow ;)
@@WindowsillNepenthes mine has cross ventilation holes at the sides as well, should I open those too? What % humidity? My hygrometer shows 99% at the moment
@@BlaisZeroni Open the side ones if you start having mold issue, I'm sure only 80% would work. ;)

Personally I spray hydrogen peroxide. ;) But I don't when seeds start to germinate. You can also increase the airflow.
@@WindowsillNepenthes what percentage
@@NarayananBG The spray for small injury. It's the 3% I believe.
where can I find a transparent container like the one you use?
They are called seed-tray and I add a humidity dome. You can find them in greenhouses or hydroponic stores
Damn those seeds are tiny , now I get why cutting method is so popular in nepenthes
And cuttings gives you a plant way faster! (And a higher chance of getting one)
So how long do they take to germinate?
Depending on "how fresh" they are, something between 2 to 10 weeks.
@@WindowsillNepenthes nice

Do we need to fertilise nepenthes? I'm not sure if you've created a video on this topic.
No video yet about that but I will ;)

i have seeds that are over 5 years old i wonder if they will still grow
That's a long shot but let us know!
what is the germination time ? i started mine 2months ago and still no seedlings !
It will depend of the freshness of the seeds.
Fresh one take 1 month.

whether you sprinkled the seeds after sowing?
The water spray will press the seeds on the substrate so less seeds will be drying.
If I buy seeds , how long does it take to spoil from its popping time ?
Depending how they're kept. But after 6 months it's almost too late
@@WindowsillNepenthes 6 months!!! I'm feeling so happy man , I'll order some seeds and I was afraid about that they might spoil in week or some .
What kind species or hybrids are these seeds?
That's a crazy name: {[(lowii x veitchii) x boschiana] x (northiana x maxima)}
What solution of hydrogen peroxide do you use for killing mold? 5 part distilled to 1 hydrogen peroxide?
To clean the surface mold and before the seeds germinate or when the seedlings are bigger like 4 leaves, I use it pure and spray (it's hydrogen peroxide 3%).
