Sorry you guys experienced the Windy Wellington. We were fortunate that the weather was good when we went down. The drive was long, but it was worth experiencing those amazing views. Wellington is a very beautiful place ❤ I'm waiting patiently for your next video 😊
So much wind! But you guys still found a way to get out and enjoy the area. I couldn't believe how empty the streets were on a Friday night....but you eventually found all the people 😆
Looked more.like.a typical windy day.... a WINDY day is a lot different 😁 Brewtown is a neat visit if you return, and the Library is a nice bar.to chill at in the evening!
😂😂😂 it was definitely the worst wind we’ve experienced, especially combined with the rain, some of our footage was actually unusable 😅 Ooh, thanks for the recommendations, will add it to our list for next time 🤗
Greetings fellow “Saffas” - that’s what antipodeans call South Africans. I migrated to New Zealand in 1999 although I’d departed Pretoria for the UK in 1995. Wellington is the windy city. Even though you weren’t there for long, you definitely captured key tourist sites especially the lovely downhill walk through the gardens. And yes, between Christmas and NYE it is very quiet. If I ever returned to live in New Zealand the only city I’d live in is Wellington. I love your videos. I wish you are settled and happy in your new home because for people like you, there is no future in South Africa. Greetings from Dubrovnik in Croatia where I now live. Cheers.
Hi fellow Saffa 👋 you’ve been away from SA for a long time and sounds like you’ve had lots of adventures! Thanks so much for watching, yes, we absolutely love it here! We’re definitely Auckland city people though 😅 Amazing that you’re living in Dubrovnik, must be so nice 🤗
@@BeingBedingfield You guys project so much positive energy and appear to be enjoying exploring your new country. Can’t wait to see the remainder of your travels around the South Island. I love how you took your parents either you. SA shall always remain part of you and you’ll likely return to visit friends and family frequently. New Zealand is expensive to live in but I trust you are both gainfully employed and I’m certain you’ll find happiness and you’ll feel “settled” within the 1-3 years that you should allow yourself to feel at home. More comments to follow with your future uploads. Cheers. Zoltan
I visited Dubrovnik in 1991, just before the war broke out, I imagine most of the damage has been fixed by now, it was such a beautifully picturesque town.
Another gorgeous video, guys. You always provide such great information and guidance.👏👍 Wellington... wooow, and the surroundings... amazing! Such a beautiful capitol. You captured the area beautifully. 💕 Every vlogger shows us a different side of Wellington. It's a really beautiful city. Your parents simce so happy. But Dad didn't have a jacket? Brave man! 😘 Lots of love to both of you. 💖
We’d love to go to Te Papa again and spend a bit more time there. We really like getting recommendations from locals, is there anything else we need to add to our to-do list for next time?
Yes, for the most part it’s so clean around NZ 🥰 and a lot of places don’t even have bins and people just automatically take their rubbish back with them, still amazed that people do that! Haha, I absolutely loved Jeannie D and Janez’s travel series, would be my dream job 😅
Thank you C & C, this brought back memories, as I once to worked at that hotel, known then as Portland Towers Hotel back in 1999 i think. And I do love Welly - warts and all
Thanks for watching Richard! Glad we could bring back a few memories for you! We really enjoyed this hotel, and pretty cool that we could see the beehive from our hotel window 😊
Other things I like doing which you didn't do include hiking to the top of Mt Vic, swimming at Oriental Bay, driving round the bays if you have a car, Weta workshop (do the tour, not just visit) etc etc
Thanks for the recommendations! We’ll make sure to spend more time in Wellington next time to do all these amazing things, especially keen for the Weta workshop 🤗
Another excellent video. A shame you struck poor weather & an earthquake.....it really is a great place on a nice day. You guys have really gotten out & about in that first year, so once you run out of places to visit is an Aus video series on the agenda?
lol, I saw your shorts re the earthquake previously and assumed......lol should have known it was the Te Papa one. Good news you didnt endure an earthquake for real
Boomers don't take Ubers 😂😂😂 totally agree with your Mum (and showing my age too 😂😂). Nice video guys - I am looking forward to the rest. Have a great weekend 😀
Most NZers have Christmas at home and then go on Dec 26 to their "bach" or holiday home till early January. Nobody is generally working between Dec 22 and say Jan 5 - hence why NZ cities are very quiet at those times.
😂😂 this video was basically our last day of bad weather. When we got to the South Island the sun came out and it’s been beautiful summer weather up until about last week 😅 So lots of sunny videos coming up ☀️
Wellington is definitely the arts & coffee culture capital of NZ

As a South African , I'm envious of the clean cities 😥 . Chantelle is such a Jeannie D 😁 love her enthusiasm .

Just a typical day in Wellington.

Love your earings chick where'd you get them?
Thanks so much! Got those earrings in SA just before we left for NZ 😊 (you are talking about the black ones with the Africa cut-out?)
@@BeingBedingfield yes oh dam was hoping to find something like that here in NZ. Thanks for the reply
