quick qestion, who makes transmissions for these? OR since when volvo started incorporate Aisin transmissions?
@@robertasviskupaitis9195 these volvos have Aisin 6speed automatic transmissions.
I would love to do a video of my old Charger. But it is in such bad shape that I have a license plate on the front that reads, "If this car was a horse I'd have to shoot it." I haven't even tried to start it in almost 20 years
Watch this before buying a 1994 Toyota Celica
RacerRyan 86 my mom has a 78
watch this, but still buy a 94 celica
Haven't had a show off sunday in a while!
glad these are comin back, they're pretty neat
Volvos have wonderful seats.
I had one in 2005 to try out a couple days...wow...the seats.😍
Seriously the Ames chair of car seats
you mean the volvo couch chairs ;) ? yeah they're very comfortable
Waiting for Scotty to make the 'why not to buy a Volvo' video
he did said they are made in china and never to buy one.... wounder how much that dude payed him to post this video on Scotty's channel...
The problem is if you buy a car and sell it after 3 or 4 years, you can buy any brand you want but if you wanna keep your cars for ever you should do like Scotty does.
Endless money pit!

@@Network126. Never had a problem with my v50
Volvo should bring back the 5 cyl and V8
The V8 is a Yamaha engine
Den där Oscar Yeah ik it’s the Yamaha B8444S but they should bring it back
Only if it's mid-engine. It really was a stretch to put a transversely mounted V8 in the P2 body, which is probably why no one else does it
Agree. That’s why I love my 98 S70 T5 and 09 XC90 V8 RD.
Sebastian Schwarz yeah they’re better made than the new 2.0 turbocharged, supercharged, and electric assisted. The 5cyl and V8 sound much better that the new 2.0 which sounds like a corolla
My mom bought a new xc60 and gave me her old 06 xc90 to fix up for my first car, I can’t wait to get it finished my family has always owned Volvo’s and they never failed to impress
Helpmecomeupwithagoodusername To fix up? I bet that’s expensive. I drive an 04 s60; I recently had to replace the PCV valve and that cost me a little over $1100. That’s including parts and labor. Great cars but expensive to keep up
Yeah they are expensive before we bought the xc90 we had an 04 v40 and about 3-4 years ago we went to get it fixed and the shop said it would cost around $800 to fix so we just scrapped it and bought the suv, luckily it only needs a new battery and possibly a new alternator
My first car was a 1978 Volvo 240 with moon roof and a 4 speed with overdrive. It would actually pull the hills in WV good. I had over 300k on it. Had a blast with it.
I love Volvo. Had great success with them.
I would never buy a modern Volvo. That said an inline six in general are very reliable.
I'd like to get a 240 wagon.
Aisin automatic trans
@@generalzod7959
Or as us swedes say, 245.
@@BackyardSpaceProgram that's right, the 245!
he says all wheel drive like its something to brag about lol
After driving Toyota for 25 years(prius, Camry Hybrid and 2014 Highlander), now I also have 2016 Volvo XC 60 with 50K miles. Hands down it's the best car. The most comfortable, supportive seats ever and better than Mercedes. Extremely safe car with gorgeous looks and handles like dream. I just change oil every 10K and changed tires once. Its bullet proof.
Bought a 2011 Volvo S60 T6 and got the polestar optimization along with a new exhaust system currently. They are pretty quick and really stand out cause most people prefer bmw 3 series, Lexus is250-350, infinit g37, and others over this. It’s the underdog and personally I think you get better quality parts both interior and mechanical.
I hope he gave his brother a red shirt when he bought his blue S60
I love the older station wagons#! Volvo's & older big bodies
I like my cars like my women: with a lot of trunk space.
They're big, long and last a very long time :)
Jeremy Coffman even with a turbo. if you change oil frequently then it’ll last you a long time
Someone just gave me a V70 Volvo 2004 station wagons with 138,000 MI but I got to fix the transmission I really like the station wagons
John Smith room for 👍 junk in the trunk🍑
Volvo's were AWESOME ! 850 and then a V70, loved them - performance, quality and maintainability.
Finally Show off
Thanks Scotty!
My car right there 🙌🙌nice to see it on your channel !
Edit: It's not me in the video but I own a S60 T6 this car is a dream.I didn't fell in the money pit yet 😅
I love it that Show Off Sunday is international!!! Great car!!!
Nice review! Interesting cruiser.
My 2005 s60 is going strong and just needs a rack and pinion . The best seats !!!!!
Thanks Scotty couldn’t have done it with out yah .
Yay! Show off Sunday is back!
First time we had this in awhile... was wondering what happened to show off Sunday
The old R's were pretty bulletproof for a conscientious owner, as were all the P2's (I have 2). Also there is really no car that is a direct comparison to the P2 XC70. With very few mods that's an incredibly capable and versatile rig.
Just got a 2010 Volvo C70 T5, and hearing Volvo has upgrade options sounds amazing. The C70 is the most solid built car I've ever owned, they might not be that great at building furniture, but they make very solid cars!
Great job and love the car.
Loving my recently acquired 2014 XC70 T6 AWD, 70k mikes one owner! Its been a nice upgrade over my Civic.
Dude badass! I had the S60 GT5 KPAX! Absolutely loved that car and miss it! That spoiler is carbon fiber, got myself one before as KPAX was getting rid of their supply, also had the Brembo GT brake kit.
I gotta 1997 Volvo s90, fixer upper, but I freakin LOVE my ride, “still working on it” but just is one of a kind, cars just elegant🤩
Volvo needs to bring back the straight six and the inline five if possible
3xx horsepower is not fast as hell. Pretty sure they sell Camry’s with 300hp now
I bet those Camry's dont do 1/4mile in 13.2sec stock though.
Yeah but I heard Toyota made terrible utilization of the 300hp. It's very watered down.
facts
But the camry 300 hp is type slow
Used to have a 1998 V70R saffron (euro spec), God I loved that car.
Miss my old 1996 855 and 854 GLT too.
Got a 2000 V70 Classic now, 2.4L and 5-speed manual (euro spec with 162 500 miles / 260 000 km on the clock).
Paid $800 for it, second owner, full service history, bet my seats are just as comfortable as the S60.
Also had a 98 V70R awd saffron 5spd. Sold it....Now I realize how stupid I was. The price goes up every year on those now
What do you think of The Volvo 2016 T5 AWD
Love my '07 s60 2.5T. Long live the inline five!
I had a Volvo s40 2005 until 2018. No mayor problems. The clutch was replaced at 152,000 miles and I solo to my brother in law, now is 173,000. Excelent car!
I love my Volvo v60 d3 I am my second Volvo my first car was s40
My 2015.5 T5 S60 hasn't had any major issues aside from warped brake rotors, and that was replaced under warranty. Ironically, my father's five-cylinder has had a major issue, but it was with the infotainment system. So far, his T5 AWD and my T5 FWD have been bulletproof. There was a recall with my spark plugs, but those were replaced without issue. I've also heard that Volvo's new Drive-E engines were tested as road rally engines for durability. I'm not saying newer Volvos are perfect, but I don't think they're poorly built.
It's the right color for Tim Taylor to drop an I-BEAM on.
Scotty I have a P2 Volvo right now that I keep dumping a lot of money into just because I love that modify it. Do you think I should stop and go with the P3 and start modifying that More horses? More power, more reliability ?????
Volvo's are great cars, I have two. Fuel pump, gauge cluster, are the only real problem$ I have had. After you fix those, it's just small things. Both of mine are at the 200k mile range. I see older ones like mine driving around still and it make me happy. Get a Vida DICE if your getting any 01-08 or P2s, do your own diagnostics and reset values. The inline 5 turbo is a torque monster.
Good video scotty great video
I just love my 2002 Volvo S60 Tubo AWD. Its now done 330,000KMs with no problems. And the seats are as comfortable as they were 330,000KMs ago
My wifey has a XC90 T6 r-design polestar. That's a mouthful. I would change the exhaust, but her 2.0 turdbox would drone to no end. The 2.0 is both turbo and supercharged to 343 hp and like 369 ft-lbs. Its sedate silver with dark tinted windows. Total sleeper. I just sold a grand national and a 392 Chrysler 300 SRT8 , both were modified sleepers. I had a mopar warranty on the 300 till 2082. I should have kept the 300
The 6 speed automatic gearbox Volvo used in all their lineup was an Aisin transmission and since the 8 speed automatic gearbox is an Aisin gearbox as well. I have a 2017 D4 XC60 with Polestar motor trimning making 220hp and I love it, and I installed a Polestar suspension, springs and shocks, and the car handles curves smoothly...
@@spenserchalkley7013 didn't know about that, but Volvo cars are pretty reliable and live long. 350,000km is very normal on V70 and other Volvo cars and they are 15 years old or so...
Aisin is extra top quality. Toyota has used them longtime.....
Always in Oregon? Where are you located at?!
Had a Volvo S60 5 cyl. 2.5T. Absolutely loved it, but eventually maintenance costs at the Volvo dealer were too expensive to keep it. Especially parts, when it needed something, it hurt.
I heard the I6 3.0, and 2.4L i5 were better because u had more room for thicker cylinder walls.
Own a 2012 Volvo S60 R-Design. Unbelievably fast and decently reliable if you take care of it. Replacing Suspension parts have have been the only maintenance outside of regular maintenance I’ve had to do so far. The stiffer suspension doesn’t hold up well against pot holes. Transmission overheats at high speeds on really hot days when driving on an incline in the mountains, but you get a message on the dash telling you to slow down. Currently at 106,000 miles and have had no major mechanical problems.
How is it on oil? In process of purchasing 2012 s60 t5 (not R design) right now.
Exhaust sounds exactly like a sustained fart. Exactly.
all wheel drive? thing took off pretty well
Hey Scotty! Any advice or knowledge on GMC Savana and Chevy Express cargo vans? Thanks buddy!
Downie Tanner me too !
2001 volvo s60 T5. Had it for 12 years. 260K miles and almost no problems. Bought it because the seats were amazing. Once you sit in them, you will want one.
Great channel
Is this similar to the bmw straight six? In the m140i for example?
do dealers overnight differential plugs on purpose?
I've got the 2015 s60 t6 platinum with a 2.0 4 cyl. turbo and supercharged making about 300 horsepower and 300 foot pounds of torque just stock not upgraded. Fast Lil 4 cylinder lol
I have a 2012 S60 T6 R same color too.
I 💜my 2016 S60 T5 Inscription. Purchased 3 months ago, previous car was a Hyundai 😳
Volvo is one of the best cars out there period! Thanks for the video Scotty.
2004 XC70 5 CYL 2.5TLPT 475 XXX KMS
2004 V70R 5 CYL 2.5HPT 327 XXX KMS
No, they are not endless money pits, yes, they are reliable.
I cant count the amount of times local dealer has tried to sell me useless parts/maintenance.
I only get quotes as to compare final costs of the my own repair versus stealership.
I do ALL my own maintenance.
Cost of maintenance since initial purchase for both vehicles combined is $3872.76.
I've owned the XC for well over 6 years, and the R for just over one year.
Total money saved by avoiding overpriced dealership services: $23,164.37.
Dont blame the vehicle for greedy and shady stealership practices.
Tayla you're absolutely correct! I have a 2004 2.5T AWD that I have added: Stage 2 Rica tune, 3.5" high flow down pipe and cat-back, Ipd charge pipe, Snubb intake pipe, Elevate hood vent, 16T turbo upgrade, and a Porche turbo control valve. It's a beast. 👍
As near as I can tell the problem with the Volvo is that Satan engineered the wiring.
Lucas electrical systems the Lord of Darkness
user 15481 🤣😂😂
2013 T5 Volvo are they reliable if not why ? Thinking about getting for my daughter.
This Volvo reminds of the old Pontiac/Holden Gto and G8 sedans
i miss my 2000 Volvo C70 hard top...shout out to iPD💪
The hardtop came out in 2006.
@@nathannnathan85 incorrect, mine was in fact a hardtop coupe. you are talking about the hardtop convertible. Google it
@@PANTYEATR1 oh yes duh! Gorgeous car.
Nice job! I like the Volvo styling and performance. We don't have that many on the roads out here in California. But when I see one I smile.
What are you talking about???? Every other car here in California is a Volvo lol.
@@Spoolingturbski No way. Where I live its BMW, Mercedes, and Tesla.
Those seats look awesome
Volvo & Mercedes Benz were the 1st comanies to create the "Rigid passenger compartment " and "Front &Rear crumple zones"
Meaning they engineered safety into their cars in the late 1950's and have been world leaders in quality and safety ever since.
You cant go wrong with Volvo.
I like the old light blue polestars
I’ve got a ‘96 Volvo 940. The 2.3litre engine is a light pressure turbo that pushes out 135hp with 230Nm of torque. Very comfy, great pulling power but sure is one heck of a gas hog. Currently has over 300k miles on it
Sell it before it hits 100k miles. Endless money pit!
Quite the opposite. Buy it at 100,000 miles for $4,000-$6,000 and do most of the maintenance yourself.
ScrappyGamingHQ no hes in America
False I have alot of friends that already passed 150k mark no issues.

Mine lasted beyond 200,000...needed a few things but would've kept going with out a doubt.🎯
Wrong. Actually every instance of people that actually own them will tell you your unsupported statement is false.
Thanks for the Video...... That is a pretty nice ride.... A little pricey for my blood, but nice none the less.
Did he say he paid 80k for the car?
just sold my 06 s60r 5cylinders were fun but not enough expensive too

Back to show off Sunday
Wow what a coincidence. Im thinking of getting a 2016-2017 volvo S60. NOT a polestar though. I've seen in your other videos that youre not a big fan of the newer volvos. Is there anything i should be concerned about, especially regarding the drive train.? Thanks!
2015-2018 are 4cyl 2.0 twincharged, this and the blue pne are 6 cyl turbocharged. Just heads
Just bought one last month! 2015 same edition! Its really quick and if modified can take on many cars!!
I love my Volvo S60 r!
When I was a kid, LOL, the last thing we wanted was our car to sound like a chainsaw. When did that start?
Is a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL a good car?
Hello Scotty! What do you think of the BMW E39 530i?
Ed barner I’ve got one with 38k miles and runs like a dream
Maybe it’s Symantec’s (it’s not) but the “R-Design” is not the same as a R they havnt made an R or a replacement since it ended in 2007. The closest you will get to s60R or v70R (some of the rarest cars ever brought to the us) is the new Polstar T8
What a beautiful car! Sweet!
I like the blue one.
