The most comfortable, supportive seats ever and better than Mercedes. Extremely safe car with gorgeous looks and handles like dream. I just change oil every 10K and changed tires once. Bought a 2011 Volvo S60 T6 and got the polestar optimization along with a new exhaust system currently. They are pretty quick and really stand out cause most people prefer bmw 3 series, Lexus is250-350, infinit g37, and others over this. It’s the underdog and personally I think you get better quality parts both interior and mechanical.

My 2015.5 T5 S60 hasn't had any major issues aside from warped brake rotors, and that was replaced under warranty. Ironically, my father's five-cylinder has had a major issue, but it was with the infotainment system. So far, his T5 AWD and my T5 FWD have been bulletproof. There was a recall with my spark plugs, but those were replaced without issue. I've also heard that Volvo's new Drive-E engines were tested as road rally engines for durability. I'm not saying newer Volvos are perfect, but I don't think they're poorly built.

I see older ones like mine driving around still and it make me happy. Get a Vida DICE if your getting any 01-08 or P2s, do your own diagnostics and reset values. Own a 2012 Volvo S60 R-Design. Unbelievably fast and decently reliable if you take care of it. Replacing Suspension parts have have been the only maintenance outside of regular maintenance I’ve had to do so far. The stiffer suspension doesn’t hold up well against pot holes. Transmission overheats at high speeds on really hot days when driving on an incline in the mountains, but you get a message on the dash telling you to slow down. Currently at 106,000 miles and have had no major mechanical problems.

No, they are not endless money pits, yes, they are reliable.
I cant count the amount of times local dealer has tried to sell me useless parts/maintenance.
I only get quotes as to compare final costs of the my own repair versus stealership.
I do ALL my own maintenance.
Cost of maintenance since initial purchase for both vehicles combined is $3872.76.
I've owned the XC for well over 6 years, and the R for just over one year.
Total money saved by avoiding overpriced dealership services: $23,164.37.

Volvo & Mercedes Benz were the 1st comanies to create the "Rigid passenger compartment " and "Front &Rear crumple zones"
Meaning they engineered safety into their cars in the late 1950's and have been world leaders in quality and safety ever since.
