Probably too late but bear in mind it's supper expensive to get housing. And it's very limited in housing that's available.
As you may have discovered by now, Brighton is one of the filthiest town in the UK.

Here is my little story how I moved to London from Brighton and regretted.
I lived in Brighton 3 years and I just loved it. The main difference between London and Brighton is people. People there re very friendly and more like hippie. Brighton has something special, living there u just always having chill and positive vibes. It’s like a breath of fresh air after busy London.
6 months ago I moved to London and that was my biggest mistake in my opinion. Well.. this is my life experience. I wanted try big city life and I just realised for myself that it’s not for me. I don’t feel freedom like I felt in Brighton. People absolutely different.
In London everything goes too fast and people are more closed in themselves. Of course Brighton has some issues too but personally for me Brighton is my soulmate. If you tired of fast paced life in big city - Brighton is the best choice to refresh your mind.
Currently I live in Bermondsey, London. But I’m extremely saving money for to move back in Brighton in this summer. Criminal and busy London it’s not for me. I want peaceful life with positive vibes.
And obviously Brighton has nice sea side and more nature in general. Which is really cool and gives a lot of options to spend cool time.

I lived in Brighton also many many years ago. Now I live in Bali and wished I was living back in Brighton, l Love the place.
Lovely video. Just to mention, I live in Brighton and although in high summer it is always packed, this vid was taken over a May Bank Holiday during the pandemic when no one was going abroad so it was particularly busy!! (Having so many outdoor areas and the beach, Brighton was a particular draw during that time - we felt very lucky to live here during it, tbh.)
The guide tactfully didn't mention any of the local gossip about the arson attacks on the West Pier...
The West Pier had been awarded major lottery funding to renovate it just before it burnt down. It was still just about saveable after the 1st fire, the 2nd fire meant it was beyond repair and the plan was dropped. At some point after, the then owners of Palace Pier renamed theirs simply "Brighton Pier" as it was the only one left - not a popular decision with locals. The current owners of Palace Pier have reinstated the original name I'm pleased to say 🙂
A small consolation for the West Pier is that its remains are now the most photographed and painted sight in Brighton. We'll be sad when it finally disintegrates.
Prices of houses are ridiculously expensive, makes it prohibitive unless you dramatically downgrade from elsewhere. It’s fabulous, wish I could afford it

To go to brighton you have to catch train from victoria station not from saint Pancras Station.
From st. Pancrase you go to north like leicester and from victoria you go to south like brighton .
You should have taken a cheap day return from victoria or a weekend return you would have saved some money ❤

I lived in Brighton for a while and I love it but the cost of living is ridiculously expensive so I decided to move to the north, where at least I can afford a flat and I don't need to share it.
I did My marathon down there 2 weeks ago it was my 1st time in Brighton and Eastbourne which is not 2 far away I absolutely loved it I consider I'd love to move there 👍👍❤👌

I lived in Brighton in 2010 - 2015. Near the Preston part. My rent was £750 for a decent 2-bed flat per month + bills. Things seemed much less expensive, and the whole place was less crowded, as it is now. Miss Brighton, but i sense it is no longer the same in many cases.

I am very interested in coming to Brighton, I am not sure about an air B& B. Although I have rented a farm house in France, years ago. I don't drink, so pubs.are not for me, I was surprised about Brighton, accessible from London. Honestly, I would be interested in moving to Brighton. I was born & raise in NYC, I currently live in the Bronx, which is 45 minutes from Manhattan. I am quiet and keep to myself, but I am not shy. Being from NYC, I would rather like the city of Brighton. I was not sure about " GP" was maybe General practisher? I would want duel citizenship. I would want to return to college as an adult student. I think the biggest challenges would be getting an apt, cause I have no people in England. But I am willing. Well, sorry that this comment was so long, but I found it vid interesting.

If you're planning on studying at Uni of Brighton, I don't recommend you to stay at an airbnb because they're super expensive. Airbnb is just a short stay for tourists or students who are staying temporarily and want to move onto a full-time, private rent accommodation.

What’s it really like there not the tourist crap I mean with the locals and crime etc
I mean the crime is about on par with any other big city, it mostly depends where abouts you are. I’d say we have a pretty good community- probably a bigger proportion of young people as there are obviously two universities here, but it’s always lively and people are generally friendly :) also the transport links are great so that’s a big plus if you’re thinking of moving here++
I live there and locals can be hit and miss. It depends on area. There's the issue of druggies and loud students all over. Crime is mostly in the centre. But recently getting worse for drug related crime in The Level park area or Nightlife areas. Most locals are alright and friendly. The city feels like it only cares for looking good for tourists. As in where most citizens live is unkempt and shabby. Probably due to too many people moving here and squeezing more into the area than there should be.

@@jmoz most of Hove is far more expensive than Brighton. The best area is around Hove Park if you are rich enough. Or near Hove Town Hall for convenience of shops and accessible to the sea.

Absolutely no parking anywhere apart from the council run car park which will charge you over £33 for four hours! My advice, if you feel the tendency to visit Brighton, at all costs do not give in to that feeling. The place is a complete dump!

Brighton could be wonderful but the streets are filthy .It's like one giant trash hole.
Brighton is a bit of a dump. For a city that is run by a left wing council it is not a good advert. The approaches in have lots if streets with many houses with bins overflowing and rubbish out front. The beachfront buildings hotels look quite run down also the ones that go from the beach into town. The lanes are ok but so commercialised and are really for tourists. It seems to attract a lot down and outs which seem to be around a lot of tourist spots. Beach front is heaving with visitors and pedestrians run the gauntlet with scooters and bikes. No green open spaces near the beach. Everything is overpriced.

I was born there but moved away. House prices are crazy partly due to students from the universities swamping the place. The streets are dirty, there is graffiti everywhere, the waste collection service is dreadful and streets are gridlocked causing pollution. The Green council cares more about adding new bike lanes than emptying the bins and making the recycling collections nowhere near as good as in neighbouring towns.
The crime is pretty bad with drug dealers on most town centre corners. Street sleepers and beggars are in abundance and they even have tents on town centre pavements. There are protest marches most weekends causing disruptions and it's one of the reasons the covid figures are so high. It was once a great town but not any more.
