'Remember, Respect Everything' Probably be an iconic quote of the whole Gta franchise if gta2 popular.... Its just memerizing to hear and represents gta as a whole
Yeah, like in many ways its so creative since it isnt limited by the realms of reality, but just by the developer imagination. GTA 1 and 2 had a more arcade feel to it, and in MP mode they are almost as comparable as Doom wads. I always though GTA 3 was insanely overrated. It was impressive for the time, but GTA 2 played hundreds of times better I still wish we got a game similar to those but with polished controls.
if rockstar going to implement respect mechanics from gta 2 to 3d or hd universe they're going to follow a similar path like FNV, would love to see it because seeing factions without intense political goal or being equally evil would be much more fun tbh
The sad parts about gta 2 is being forgotten, old, tragic fate of the protagonist and lack of narrative depth GTA 2 is my childhood and favorite 2d games of all time
It's very interesting to see GTA genetics change throughout the course of original 2D and 3D games, keeping old elements while adding new features. And I still think that GTA 2 is the most underappreciated and less known GTA game and probably the craziest and most unique, I hope it gets some sort of reimagining one day, probably not by Rockstar but some dedicated fans. And while respect system is awesome, I think it's not necessary in GTA3 for story reasons. The mood of the game is more about inevitability than choosing your path in criminal underworld so the lack of real choice works thematically well.
You won't here this from most people, but I would actually like to see a HD Universe Adaptation of Anywhere City someday. I think it should also be the only GTA Map not based on a real life location. Giving Rockstar Games full creative control over the map design.
Honestly this is how GTA Online should have been. Factions already existed in the game, would of been neat working with them all in more than just contact missions.
What I find weird, is despite the arcady nature, and the game's weird, outwordly aesthetics, GTA2 has a fully fledged out lore of its world. You can get a lot of information of its world, products, the gangs, even the weapons just by listening to the Radio. There's actually an ad for one of the guns, in the game, S-UZI, which I find a great touch, especially for 1999. I'm not sure if any other game did such a unique method of world building before GTA2. Also, the radio stations have a lot of bangers, one of the musics would fit perfectly into Cyberpunk 2077's OST.
Great video Gta 2 is in my top 5 of favorite Gta games out there. There is another game on Steam which is pretty good called Glitchpunk a spiritual successor to Gta 2 which I really recommend
The last time i remember where respect was used as a game mechanic was in GTA and Bully, in GTA SA you could only gain respect with one faction (Grove Street Families) so it wasn't like GTA 2, Bully, on the other hand, was way more similar to GTA 2 since you could earn respect between various groups and doing missions or other specific tasks would either gain or lose respect with a certain gang
Its great to see GTA2 getting love. I think GTA2 is the most fun GTA game all around, thetr is only one boring quest in the entire game: get zikizaki the rest of them are all good. Also the kill frenzies + collectables + the power ups and wang cars givea you a lot of options to play however you like
Could you do a video on the most underrated GTA game of all time GTA Advance Please it’s great to see someone speaking about the Underrated 2D GTA Games
1:30, that glitch is only available on the PS2 version of the game. on PC, the infamous plane flying over the ocean glitch corrupts only corrupts some areas in the game, but it screws over the zone terminators.
GTA 2 was honestly a better game than GTA III personally. I guess I can say I had the luxury of playing the PS1 version of the game and absolutely loved it.
The best mechanic in GTA2? And the best mechanic in ANY GTA game I have ever played? Modifying cars. I can't tell you how much I loved putting guns and spitting oil with the cars. I always thought they would re-visit this mechanic in the future. Imagine being able to strap guns and armor etc to cars in future GTA games... The gang mechanic to be able to take goons with you is indeed the 2nd best mechanic I have ever seen in a GTA game.
Never played the PS1 version but the PC version definitely also has a save method (Jesus Saves buildings). It's not the best system ever, but it is there.
And that's why GTA 2 outmatches all other GTA games ! You had lives to complete the game meaning if you die too much : Game over. Are you gonna surrender to cops rather than dying and losing a life ? Are you going to do that mission ? What about if you get killed ? Should I save my progress or should I restart the whole district ? Maybe being a taxi driver isn't that bad to progress ? Respect is everything ! Without forgeting the famous Jesus Saves but saving coasts money, because you know salvation has a price ! ;)
and remember respect is everything damnation no donation no salvation hallelujah another soul saved
Elvis has left the building
Gimme your money
'Remember, Respect Everything' Probably be an iconic quote of the whole Gta franchise if gta2 popular.... Its just memerizing to hear and represents gta as a whole
'EA Games, Challenge Everything', makes games with the same exact formula each year
I consider this game to still be the best GTA.

One of the most underrated games.
Still my fav entry in the series. Thanks for the vid :)

Interesting... the respect system was definitely a common thing in Rockstar's earlier games.

Rockstar didn't make the first two GTAs
@@k_kubes Yeah.
@@pykor9386 Oh?
@@pykor9386They did. They were just known as DMA design back then. They were DMA even when GTA 3 first came out for the PS2.
great video brother! keep up the good work!

Rockstar knows this since they've had loyalist ditch them over GTAVI and GTA+.

I did one a couple of months back called "Rockstar's Game NOBODY Plays". But I'd like to make more on that game.
@@H0rHe oh great il check it out I was playing it today on my GBA glad you have already made one it’s probably my favourite 2D GTA Game ever made

I'd honestly love to revisit anywhere city. Maybe they could use it to explain some of the futuristic stuff.
GTA 2, GTA San Andreas and GTA 5 are the best games in the series.
I feel like this style was intentional for the power of the ps1 and to make it slightly less controversial than what happened when it movrd to 3d
GTA 2 was honestly a better game than GTA III personally. I guess I can say I had the luxury of playing the PS1 version of the game and absolutely loved it.
dude i love gta 2, you should play in night mode though.
Remember, the people who this game are gone and publicly said gta 6 wont be the same saterical environment
The score number really making dizzy seeing them pop just like that
This best game ever made for me man!!!

Bring back the line of Elvis impersonators, missed opportunity not to put them in Las Venturas in San andres
Didn't Daggerfall have a respect system?
@@1q34w Yeah.
It’s great… As long as it’s the PS1 version with save states (on DuckStation)… Because the PC version is too difficult…
Never played the PS1 version but the PC version definitely also has a save method (Jesus Saves buildings). It's not the best system ever, but it is there.
I loved GTA 2
GTA 2 as a sequel to GTA 1 is kind of like fallout 2 to fallout 1
The gang mechanic was fun and surely missed
This is ny favorite 2d gta game
I always wanted to play GTA 2 but could never get it to run.
I've had the same but with GTA 1
Get a ps1
Ya buy ps1
This idea was brought back in bully
I love this Gta
