Another great lesson, I have such a time with bar chords, arthritis in my pointer finger and surgery on thumb joint causing my thumb to be half inch shorter, just have a heck of a time it is really frustrating. Thanks for the lesson Rusty.
A lot of players just use pieces of chords or chord fragments. But that would be frustrating not to be able to play what you want to play. Always good to hear from you! Have a great weekend👍
Another fantastic lesson. Thanks Rusty!
Thanks a lot Steve! And you’re very welcome my brother 😎
Happy Sunday 🙏
Hey Rusty-your lessons are so instructive & intuitive. 1/2 the time I don’t absorb all that you’re communicating, but I keep watching hoping that by Osmosis I’ll absorb some of your brilliant hints & instructions. Great lesson Rusty! A lesson I never see is one on creative fingering when soloing… some “proper” fingering doesn’t lend itself to playing tasty and aggressive rock lead - Any tips would be appreciated!

That’s right bro! I love me some Bad Company Guitar work! Thanks for checking out the lesson👍
This is a great no nonsense lesson. I seldom subscribe but have done straight away. I recently purchased a looper pedal (only pedal I own) and would love some tips on laying down backing tracks with it. 😊
Thanks Andrew! Yes, a looper pedal is a great tool for guitar playing. I have not done a video on that topic in sometime. But I will put something together soon! Have a great weekend and thanks for watching.👍
Hey Rusty, I love your passion and lesson style. I would love your take on building speed. I’m not talking shredding here, just how to play some of the faster licks you find in rock music. It’s where I struggle when I learn a solo, there are always parts I just can’t play as I can’t get near the speed.
What’s the formula to practice and get the fingers moving faster?
Hey Chris, thanks for checking out the lesson. For me using Pentatonic sequences was the ticket. Check this out. How To START USING SEQUENCES GUITAR! It's not as hard as it looks!
ua-cam.com/video/clLD1edLimY/v-deo.html
Let me know if this was helpful! Thanks for all your support Chris👍
Would love to know your signal chain and any tips on how to replicate your tone.
Hey Mark, i’m using the Revv G 20 amp set clean and driving it with the Revv tilt overdrive pedal. I’m also using a small amount of reverb and delay from the Strymon BigSky and Timeline pedals. The Revv amp goes directly into my interface. But I use the same rig when I play live. Thanks a lot for checking out the video. Talk to you soon.👍
Do you have any music on bandcamp I really dig your playing would luv to hear you in a band
No, I don’t have any footage of live guitar playing. But that’s a great idea for some future videos. Thanks so much for all your support Rod! Have a great rest of your week buddy👍
Great stuff, isnt resolving to fifth of chords also good as root and third?
Yes! Absolutely. And those notes are in the minor pentatonic also. Thanks for checking out the video Russ. 👍
Do you mind me asking what hardware you use for those awesome tones please rusty, would be much appreciated 👌
In most of my videos, including this one, I’m using the Revv G 20 amp set clean and driving it with the Revv tilt overdrive pedal. Also some reverb from the Strymon BigSky. A great studio set up and I use it live also. Thanks for checking out the video.👍

G'day Rusty,
Retired from Speedway Sidecar Racing due to a bad crash last year. So I decided to take up the guitar as a hobby. I purchased a Fender Telecaster and a Spark Amp as I love the blues and am very keen to learn.
Question please: Where can I buy the guitar tabs for your courses as this is the only way I can learn solo as I'm now 79, I practice every day on the pentatonic scales but can't get out of this rut.
Thank you Tommy F 666 Speedway Rider 😟
Hey Tommy, sorry to hear about the crash but I’m certainly glad you’re playing the guitar. I don’t use tabs. I really believe that if you see it and hear it, you can play it. Watch close pause the video and try to copy it. Then it will stay in your brain forever. Thanks so much for checking out my lessons. Talk to you soon soon.👍
Thank you for the heads up Rusty, I will take your advice and just hang in there, I plan to follow along the lines of the root note you mentioned and parts of a chord being the key to soloing plus heaps of practice every day seems to be the way to go for an old coot like me. 😀 stay well !!
