This video really shows how much the pit adds to the corps overall sound, it felt like a lot of holes in parts that even the hornline had the spotlight.
You know I found this refreshing with the clarity of brass and battery sounds. It was only after several viewings that I realized there was no pit! I think this is a great case for how the overamped pit is an unnecessary audio clutter.
I've always thought that Kinetic noise was a criminally underrated show. The level of innovation they brought to the field with the front ensemble and live mixing / looping was unreal and unlike anything ever before seen on the field.I'd dare say that Kinetic Noise was a FAR superior show to both Tilt and Downside Up.
I think it depends on what aspect you’re talking about. I think overall downside up had a higher energy and the music had a better flow between movements, and (bandwagon incoming) the ending of tilt is simply unmatched. But I do agree kinetic noise definitely has the best brass writing I’ve heard and blends perfectly with the electronics
I was there, and this was the LOUDEST F*****G THING I've ever heard. And that includes seeing The Who from the second row. My favorite 'coats show of the decade, too. The best integration of technology into drum corps yet.
Goes to show how much stuff they add in during the season towards the end. I don't know at what point in the season this was but there were so many lines missing compared to at finals. The trill in the brass at 4:59 isn't there yet, so many things at the very end of the show like the super exposed attacks in the brass, all not there yet and I think they made the show sooooo much better in the end.
The very end part where the drums play super high..... So hype. I liked the change but when the brass holds out that cord and the drumline is playing above their head. Gooz Bumbz
This is about as close to drum corps as it existed when I first started as a rookie in the early seventies....brass and drums.....truly drum and bugle corps, if you could imagine this with the G bugles...the drum line is damn near clean in this performance, great to be able to hear them without the pit getting in the way ( Sorry pit members!)
+oldschooldrumcorps Truly agree.....brass and battery with no distractions....priceless. and Erick.....G bugles with the overtones and balls.....nothing like it, and you needed no amplification or electronic enhancement. Tuning issues?.....only in the eyes of the beholder. I played in both my band and DBC in the '70's......truly appreciated the difference. If I wanted to play my band instrument in drum corps, I would've joined a band....'just sayin'...! You should appreciate this sound without the enhancements......worthy of a studio session.....real clean...!
+Mason Bose Yeah, every corps just brought in hornline and battery. No room for anyone else. It was really different but amazing seeing the corps in such a stripped down performance setting. Source: I was there :D

Ikr, it just wasn't the same lol
Because the show is designed with the pit in mind. If it was still the stone ages of drum corps you wouldn't have noticed a difference.
+clark bolding agreed.

Kanstulman a wholeheartedly disagree

3:39 "the spock roll was.........................CLEAN!! VERY CLEAN!!" lol
I love how wet their snares sound. Absolutely amazing tuning!
+clark bolding That's Roger Carter for you.

Haha awesome! Funny thing is a lot of the time they’ll tell them to hold back a bit in auditoriums
So awkward W/O those electronics haha
And pit
When the contra line got their own thing
I swear I would give almost anything to have those uniforms when I marched.
When did you march and with who?
Probably 2016-2019.
@@samuelgreenberg9772 I marched with the Bluecoats

That part around the 4:00 mark with the snares is probably the most pimp thing written in a very long time.
programmed wrong 3:03 and that little switch 4/4 and the big hit
Not to trash them because they sound great, but they got sooo much better. Their brass sound at the end was so unique and dark
That early tuba entrance at 4:54 😫
BAHAHAHA THATS HILARIOUS! I bet he get chewed out unless that forgot XD
Mistakes happen lmao
This isn’t the military, he most definitely didn’t get “chewed out”
@@chaser22081 idk bro, some drum corps are pretty damn strict about things like that
and just like that, the ballad and feature just suddenly dissapeer...
anyone else wonder where then ballad went?????
Muncie not Munche
The very end part where the drums play super high..... So hype. I liked the change but when the brass holds out that cord and the drumline is playing above their head. Gooz Bumbz
Where did they preform this?
+Angus Hsieh muncie indiana after the show got rained out, it was lit

+oldschooldrumcorps ahhh yes. Imagine this with G bugles......it would sound bad.
***** according to the people that played them, they were heavier, and pretty difficult to tune
+aPattyson Louder?
+oldschooldrumcorps Truly agree.....brass and battery with no distractions....priceless. and Erick.....G bugles with the overtones and balls.....nothing like it, and you needed no amplification or electronic enhancement. +Tracer Hayden No way.It doesn't fit the brass family any more
You saw them perform in Allentown I thought Kevin would like to drums
@3:56 stick flip, stage right snare
It’s Muncie not Munche
who gives a fuck
Lmao
That was a super cold ratio lol
I wouldve given anything to march on that snareline
No front ensemble??
No bass drum piece on 4:55
Where's the pit😂
oh yea, um, they sort of like fell off the stage
+TotalGamer 717 no corps used their pit. i assume it was because space

+Ben May so was I haha, good show
