Cheers Rob. Great video. Spot on what you said about maintaining your own kit. I've learnt loads this year sorting issues with my mower all from youtube. Was going to replace as 7 years old but thought its a good chance to learn how to look after my kit better. Cheers Andy
@@RJLmachinery yes, but they are 18V5Ah, they are lighter, I am not using them, but it seems they can drain quickly compared to 36V5Ah..2x more energy.
Great review mate, tool longevity is an issue and yes battery tools don't last as long, I generally earn more from the battery as i can use them longer. Have a great weekend mate 👍
Makita does the best cut quality in my experience, used stihl makita Shindaiwa and honda in the past, makita is my favourite, easiest and nicest one to use.
I have a Stihl combi petrol and a Stihl combi battery and hands down the petrol is by far the superior machine ,much better balanced and actually lighter too. The battery has its benefits but most definitely not with regards to cut quality and weight.
I run my own business 4 days a week and work with another bloke 1 day a week, i run the makita trimmer and old mate has the stand alone stihl trimmer and has the bigger kombi too. Makita is hands down my favourite to use, the small stihl isnt so bad but the kombi kills me if im doing a whole day of hedges. The weight is ridiculous 😂
KMA 135 R is just as powerful as its petrol brother and they both use the same blades... With grass trimmers I'd probably agree with you, unless you're prepared to chuck a couple of grand on batteries, but with pole hedge trimmers - battery takes the lead now methinks.
Did look at kma135 but decided against it. The likes of the stihl hla66 are more what i'd be looking for and would agree with you on the pole trimmers defo. I do want a battery grass trimmer but they eat batteries apparently so no good for my work. 👍
Makita is a pleasure to use . Even better with the trigger taped down 👍👍👍🤠🤠
Shhh dont tell anyone 😅

Thanks Andy, Its 100% worth knowing the basics, will save you time and money going forward. Hope you are getting on alright mate 👌👍
Great video, if the batteries were cheaper I would happily switch everything.
Cheers, yes they do seem rather pricey, These makita batteries are alot cheaper than some of the other major brands, which is a plus. 👍

Yep agree with all that mate. Have a good one yourself 👍

The cut is nice when the blades are new and sharp but they need regular sharpening as not made of the best stuff imo.

Yeh the weight put me off the battery kombi unit. If going for a stihl hedge trimmer it would be the hla66 for me any day. Cheers

The makita is nice to use, and def less tired after a full days work when using it compared to petrol trimmer 😅👍

I have decided to upgrade my Husqvarna 325 HE4 and it is a hard choice to ditch the two-stroke.
I dont think you would regret going to a battery hedge trimmer, they are nice to use. What you thinking of getting?
@@RJLmachinery a Stihl commercial grade probably.
How do you release the blade on the petrol one
Not sure what you mean mate?
Will you ever go down the stihl battery road.
Maybe, if they ever bring out a single sided battery trimmer. Its not worth me switching atm 👍
@@RJLmachinery I did message StihlGB about that they said their always bringing new stuff out so keep an eye out 👍
Available uae?
