    I run my own business 4 days a week and work with another bloke 1 day a week, i run the makita trimmer and old mate has the stand alone stihl trimmer and has the bigger kombi too. Makita is hands down my favourite to use, the small stihl isnt so bad but the kombi kills me if im doing a whole day of hedges. The weight is ridiculous 😂

    You SIR are very AWESOME ! Rewinding ANY weed eater spool one chamber line at a time is a PAIN and being able to FEED through and wind it so that you're winding both at once is VERY convenient ! I found that about 24' (feet) of the .095 thickness is about the perfect length to wind both top and bottom at the same time ! Again THANKS for this video it's gonna save me a bunch of time rewinding the spool !

    • @RJLmachinery
      @RJLmachinery Місяць тому

      I think the first thing was it sounded weird and grindy, think it did flash lights a few times and was temperamental when pressing trigger, then it just stopped working altogether. Take your gearbox cover off and see if the drive spur is still lining up with the cog. and run it with cover off to check its not wobbling.

    I ruined a blade, because balance is critical at those rotations and it's very easy to grind too much and then the machine shakes like a vibrator and soon after your shaft will die. Please do not use this method.

    • @RJLmachinery
      @RJLmachinery Місяць тому

      So are you just never supposed to sharpen it? 🤣 A normal sharpen taking roughly the same amount off will not cause excessive vibration, so you either completely messed up the sharpening or didnt have the blade mounted correctly.

    Like most of us I own a variety of devices, the one I like best is my bench mounted Oregon 511 'Clone'. It doesn't do the rakers, but it does give me a consistent result on the cutters. My Husqvarna Rancher gets good results using the Husky roller and My Stihl raker gauge works on the Stihl saw. The 2 in 1 is ok, but a round file and raker gauge have given me better results. Most 'tools' take time to get the hang of them, and taking time is the best way - IMO rushing doesn't get the best result.

    • @RJLmachinery
      @RJLmachinery Місяць тому

      Yes similar internals etc, the biggest difference is the new ones have a connected top bar running down the length of the blade which is prone to breaking, if you dont look after it. Olds one could take more of a beating. Both pretty good though if you look after your kit.

    • @RJLmachinery

      They are not bad, the honda is a true 4 stroke, where as the stihl 4 mix, you still have to mix oil and gas in the tank. Depends what kind of work you want it for really. They tend to be slightly heavier than 2 strokes.
