@@youshaei This video was very informative, and I learned a lot from this podcast. It would be a great help if you could share the Vox video script document.🙏😊
I met Johnny while filming a field video-specifically, his project The Invasion Russia Doesn’t Want You to Know About. He was handling everything himself: filming, interviewing, and diving into the topics. Despite having almost no free time, he was incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely interested, even asking about what I was working on and who I was, which is rare in this business. His openness and kindness made his work feel even more admirable and impactful. Thanks, Jon, Johnny and Iz, for the interview-it was valuable on so many levels.
Yet, he didn't mentioned 2014 coup made by cia in ukraine. And totally forgot about BoJo clown ruining peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Good job👍🏻
I missed Iz so much! Pretty much devoured everything on her channel before she swept it clean, which I respect. I love her mind and putting it to use to power Johnny’s engine is why his channel got so much more massive.
Started my day feeling like a UA-cam genius. Ended it watching Johnny Harris and questioning all my life choices. Now I gotta work extra hard to get a fraction of his view count.
Dude you videos are waaaay better and higher quality then his, the script and research is where he crushing you (of course your research are good but not as good as his)
I've been enjoying your videos, and I appreciate the effort you put into creating engaging content. One area for improvement I noticed is creating a stronger emotional connection with your audience, similar to what Johnny achieves. To enhance this, consider simplifying your scripts to make complex financial concepts more accessible to a broader audience. Your use of clips is excellent, but I think you could take it to the next level by making the storytelling more immersive and engaging for your viewers. As the first in your niche, you have the opportunity to set the bar for others to follow.
He is very good at overlying moving visuals over static imagery. I have not seen any one else do it as well as he does it. But some people accuse him of loosing accuracy in an attempt to over simplifying things, but at least he is making people get some hand on the subject at least imho.
This was a really nice interview and I was wondering before why Johnny has never been invited to similar platforms to share his knowledge. Thanks for making this happen Jon and the team!

They are brilliant! I really liked seeing this partnership and how they complement each other. Iz is so smart, it's clear how much time she has put into understanding how to manage and develop an organization, and it's refreshing to see how much she cares about the people that work with them to make this a reality and how she's upfront about their missteps. well A LOT of harris's stuff is not well researched and its a shame! we don't have quality journalism anymore. as an example: harris video about the spending of the us military. go watch the video from rian mcbeth an expert who debunks harris video.
His visuals and production levels are hilariously levels above any other similar creator or show I can think of. Glad to get this insight into the process.
I have always been a huge fan of Johnny’s content. This video was so interesting and entertaining to be able to see behind the curtain. And being introduced to Iz and their partnership was so cool! There's a lot of politics that I disagree on with Johnny Harris, but he remains as one of my favorite youtubers of all time. Best visual-learning, does his research, and very open minded to so many topics - no tribalism bs. I wish he had the time and resources to do much longer videos (I'm talking hours), so he can cover so much more information on a particular topic. I could sit through his content for hours.
Great Conversation. Thanks for highlighting the power of understanding and communication, it is indeed a dilemma most of us still struggle to comprehend with.
I love Johnny's videos, but it was Iz's videos that got me through the pandemic. I binged her family travel videos, and there was a comforting aspect to them. I went to try and find them, but it looks like she took down most of her videos.
Every single day I wish it was Iz’s videos they built a company around instead of Johnny’s 😢 I love Johnny’s videos, but I way prefer Iz as an artist and narrator, I wish they could have done both! She is such an incredible creator and UA-cam is worse off without her.
I do think that on a few recent Johnny Harris videos there has been information presented as facts that has been questionable in veracity. I think it’s my biggest concern with independent channels like his is that risk of needing to put out more content causes deterioration in quality.
I have subscribed and been following JH for a long time since he left Vox. And I have always loved to see him talk about his processes. This conversation is so wonderful, especially that it has Iz around to talk more about the business side of the creative work. Thank you for having this conversation, Jon. More of it, please. Question: How can I have a sample copy of Harris' script template?
Big fan of Johnny and his work, so thanks for putting this on! I really like how Johnny approached "trying to empathize with my earlier self". Don't just learn it, try to notice what you're unaware of and curious of DURING the learning process. ~18:00
I’d love for him to start covering really obscure stuff going on around the world more. He already does it, but I want to see even deeper news stories on that topic.
Not sure if you are aware but comments on Johnny's post about this videos are rough and I think the title has a lot to do with it. It's a big claim to make and one that is very subjective. He didn't choose the title but it makes him sound self important and arrogant when he isn't. I personally found the title offputting myself. Have you considered changing it?
Love the video! Great questions and answers! Just one small thing-the presence of some ego in the room can be a bit annoying at times. But aside from that, it’s a fantastic interview! ❤
I've been a fan and I'm glad to have watches this conversation. I appreciate the work of Johnny's team even more now. Johnny cuts his wife off a lot though.
My view on Johnny Harris's production process: In my opinion, we should try to think like Johnny producers, not Harris docs direction stuff. His document that shows VO and VIZ is beyond vague for practical production, which is why they need 100 notes later. But yes, the part on deep understanding is crucial. But production-wise, I will, as one person, try to find a fair fight in my story. I will break down chapters (outlines) into smaller, manageable parts that I might not have answers to, but I will have questions and problems to solve, something to fight. It's still chaotic but is far more practical.
They describe how I've been managed in the past and it's horrible. This sounds like extreme micromanagement with the notes. You're working with creative people, give them space to take pride in their ideas and insights. It is killing for creativity if you have to do it their way and only their way is correct..
@Johnny Harris At the hour mark your wife says that people will say that would make a great video but not for your style of reporting but maybe for someone else. My question is, do you ever suggest those ideas to other creators that you know would do a good job on those ideas?
